2024 Ranger Raptor -- Cam Phasers Bad With 900 miles!

Waited over 9 months, for a top performance truck, nearly 60K, and issues from the start. First a drive train whistling, probably front drive shaft, and at less than 900 miles cam phaser issue. Very sad. Working with Ford to see what the next move is. They claim they want to replace them, but need to pull the motor out to replace, I am leery, don't want a rebuilt motor at 900 miles, I want a new motor dropped in. Opened my case several days ago, waiting on a response. I have owned dozens of Ford over the past 50 years, from F150 Raptors to Shelby GT500, I am a loyal Ford buyer and fan, I even work at a dealership. Just very disappointed at this point. Not sure how the cam phaser issue can still be an issue after years of having them on almost all the Eco line. Crossing fingers Ford does the right thing.

According to the article we will likely see a conventional Ranger hybrid (maybe similar to F-150 Powerboost) or a Ranger EREV. I'm guessing we will more likely see a Ranger Powerboost since all the required tech is sitting on the shelf and would be easy to add to the Ranger. A Ranger EREV, IMO, would have to much overlap with the new midsize EV pickup coming out of the skunk works project. But I could be wrong because of my skepticism towards EREVs.

I know the strike probably pushed the date but haven't heard much about the Ranger for 2024. Did the OTB get issued. I have seen 0 in inventory so I am assuming they haven't started leaving the plant. Any update?

Ranger Transmission Issues?

I had decided to buy a Ranger, but I went to talk to my local shop that I trust for everything, and Nick at H3 here in Georgia when I asked my about the Ranger and Mavericks he told me

that he has had no issues with Mavericks, they have been great! and the Rangers are good trucks, except the earlier version of the current generation, the 10 speed transmission tends to craps out at 80,000 miles, not all of them but enough to be an issue. He told me that Ford did some upgrades that solved the problem, so buy a Ranger post upgrade. Does anybody know when they did the upgrades so I know which years to pay attention to.

2005 Ranger with Front Brake Drag Problem

Hello, I need some help. I changed the front Rotors/hubs on my 2005 Ranger RWD. Now I have brake drag and my front hubs are getting hot. My old rotors needed replacing. So I went to Advanced Auto and bought a set that matched my truck. I pulled the old ones and installed the new ones. The new ones spun without any issues. After test driving a few miles I checked and the lug nuts were hot along with the dust caps. I jacked it up and now the brakes are dragging. While I had the rotors off I greased the slides. I pressed the calibers to retract the pistons. So no air should be in the line. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

looking for extender harnesses

Does anyone know of a company that makes extension cables for the factory harnesses? I want to get an extender for the front turn signals so I can add extra turn signals/markers without having to tap the factory wiring. I know people do it everyday. I just want to maintain the integrity if possible. worst case I will buy the connectors and make my own if necessary.

Ranger LED bed lights

Has anyone had any experiences with the LED bed light kit from Ford (part number VKB3Z-13E754-A) for their new Ranger?

Two hundred forty nine dollars seems steep to me considering the kit consists of just 4 lights (and associated wiring/hardware) and no means to operate them other than touching one of the four light lens.

Tire chains

I have a 2022 Lariat 4X4 can I put chains on all four tires, I did on my 2020 Ranger and didn't have any problems but wanted to check and see if anyone knew if it was OK to do it on my 2022 as well. I checked the owners manual and it says put tire chains on the rear tires like most people would being they only buy one set. I'll be using the Les Schwab quick fit tire chains.

Improving MPG

I have a 2022 Ranger Lariat FX4, I'm getting around 22 mpg which is pretty good overall. I haven't done any Mods on it except put on a ARE canopy. Was wondering if any one has tried any tuner programs to help improve mpg. I know the most common things to do, proper tire inflation, proper maintenance and don't carry around extra weight. I know some of the tuners will void the warranty but some brands say they won't, like Chip My Car which could improve horsepower up to 60 hp and up to 5 more mpg . Has anyone tried or knows someone that has any tuners. I'm only wanting to improve mpg and not trying to turn my Ranger into a race truck. 90% of my driving is Hwy until I get to the mountains and then mostly just Soft Roading. Any thoughts or suggestions on tuners or improving fuel mileage would be appreciated.

Based on recent communication, it appears that the early 2023 Rangers will be the older body style (ex. 2022) for a while....and the new, redesigned body will not be available until the spring. Basically a 2023 1/2 model. Is that correct?

Wasn't sure where post this question, I ordered my Ranger back in February and had a scheduled production date of 6/6/22 but it was changed to 6/20/22, I've been signing into the "Ford Vehicle Order Tracking Site" to monitor progress, after entering my Order # and VIN# I can also request to view the Window Sticker, as of right now Ford Direct stats (Window Sticker not available, check back later). Reading the Window Sticker Request section, I know window stickers aren't available until 1-7 days before the build date. Is anyone using that site to check their vehicle progress and viewing window stickers when available? or is it better just to request the window sticker in the Window Sticker Request section when I'm closer to the build date? Reviewing a lot of the request on the Window Sticker Request Site I didn't see any reference to the Ford Tracking Site or using it to view Window stickers.

I heard there were issues with the headlights on the Ranger Lariats, but I am unable to confirm. Also, I was told they canceled scheduling for this week. Can anyone confirm this?
