Cruise control interfering with acceleration/transmission

When the cruise control is engaged on my 2016 Ford Edge(4 cyl turbo) it will work fine for 20-30 miles. After that the car has trouble accelerating. It's almost as if it's stuck in a lower gear. Once the car is turned off and back on it will work properly, provided you don't use the cruise control

2021 Edge Titanium with only 14 KM.'s !! Even after an hour long highway drive when I return and try and perform any function with my Ford Connect via my iPhone 13 Pro (e.g. Lock All Doors) I get the warning that my vehicle is in Deep Sleep Mode to preserve Battery life !!

Any and all suggestion/resolution to fix this irritating issue will be very much appreciated !!

I tried to solder the broken metal connector but was unable to fit it back into the plastic holder after. I'm going to have to cut the broken connector off, strip the wire, reconnect to another wire that has a new metal connector.

Questions:

1) Is there away to find out 100% if the blue wire is 14 AWG?

2) The open barrel connector that was attached to the blue wire, it's not a Ford proprietary thing is it? How can I find the exact type?

I'm a noob trying to learn. Thank you for any help you can give!

P0456 error

Hello folks!

I started getting the P0456 error a couple of months ago on a 2019 Edge SEL. I see a post from 2017 about the vacuum purge valve, so I'm considering replacing that if I can find the correct part number. I've also seen reference to the gas tank fill flap (capless) getting dirty and staying open a little so I'll check that too.

What I've noticed is that after I fill up, when I try to start the car immediately after filling it usually takes two tries for the engine to get going. I'm wondering if this symptom is pointing to one over the other or something else entirely?

I'll try and make this post as succinct as possible so bear with me:

I enjoyed using my Sansa Fuze MP3 Player without issue for years in my previous 2008 Edge Limited. I now have a 2021 Edge Titanium and after more than three years decided to use the Sansa Fuze again. But now after it plays about 3 tracks it shuts down with the alert "AUDIO OFF" and goes dead !!

I have also tried to use a USB Flash Drive with my MP3's loaded but it will not be recognized at all. The Flash Drive is formatted as FAT 32 which I researched is correct for my Sync 4 system.

Any and all suggestions, advice or recommendations to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated !!

2020 Edge Panoramic Sunroof cover/liner binding and off track

My wife has a 2020 Edge Titanium with the Panoramic Sunroof. One day she went to retract the motorized cover/liner but when it got about half way back there was some binding and the cover/liner was pulled out of its track on the drivers side. Any advice on putting the cover/liner back into the track so its not sagging into the cabin?

Also, I was able to get the cover/liner closed but we have not touched it since.

2023 Edge Titanium Fluttering Hood while at speed

Recently purchase my 2023 Edge, (used) from a dealership. And I am now noticing that the hood (for lack of better explanation), looks like it is *fluttering at speed and over bumpy road conditions! Even worse at highway speeds. More so closer to the windshield, drivers side. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I am still under *Bumper to Bumper, and far as Carfax was concerned, it was a one owner, never in an accident vehicle.

It has the PAINT COLOR:CARBONIZED GRAY/ASHER GRAY

2019 Ford Edge turbo charger problems

Anyone else go through a turbo charger needing to be replaced? The car has 45k, but I’ve only owned the car for 11 months. I called the dealer and asked if I could bring it in so they could read the code off of the reader because my engine light was on and I wanted to make sure it was safe to drive. I was told if it’s a steady light it’s safe to drive… couldn’t believe it. I went to auto zone and it took 2 minutes!

2019/2020 Edge Adaptive Headlights

Hi all, I'm hoping somebody sees this and can help. I just picked up my 2020 Edge ST, which is amazing. There's just one thing that's left me scratching my head. With the adaptive headlight system (included only in the 401A pkg), the left display screen menu under "Vehicle>Settings>Lighting has a greyed out adaptive headlight option that you cannot select no matter what other selections you make or things you do. I took it to the dealer and they don't know either. Is this a software glitch? Should that menu option have been removed? Should it be selectable? Is this something that is country specific? The car manual seems to show a sub-menu under this option so either the manual is out of date/wrong or that area should be selectable for whatever options it contains.

Hello, everyone, have a question about my Ford Edge ST 2020 year. Bought at auction with little damage and there are destroyed lower part of bumper. My question is - Do I have the adaptive cruise (I put my sticker with specs)? If yes, can someone give me part number or something, because I can`t find ant info about it location or diagrams. Diagrams with schemes also will help me.
I see that my vehicle have adaptive cruise... this means my Edge have adaptive cruise sensor? And from auction images I saw that my Edge don`t have front camera, is that a optional equipment?

We’re looking at a new Edge, and see that there’s no keypad. When did Ford stop putting them on the Edge? My new 2024 F350 has it. My wife loves it on her vehicles. She’s had it on everything since 2002.

Climate controlled seats not heating seat back

I recently traded in a 2014 Equinox LTZ on a 2017 Edge Titanium. My 'Nox had heated seats, and the seat bottom and seat back both got warmed nicely by this function. I'm disappointed that my Edge does not warm the seat backs at all! Is this normal? The owner's manual does not discuss this.

Power train malfunction

Hello I recently purchased a ‘22 edge platinum and I keep getting a message on the dashboard service car soon. And on the ford app it tells me there’s a power train malfunction and to take to service soon. I took it to the dealership about 4 times already. At first they said they couldn’t find anything and then when I brought it in again they kept the car for one day and the next day told me it was ready. I picked the car up drove it home and the light came back up. I notice that when I get the service soon light on the light on the knob shift does not work.. has anyone had the same problem?

Removing interior trim

I have a 2023 Ford Edge St an despise all the silver/chrome trim on the interior. I would like to carbon fiber vinyl wrap to cover, but unsure how to remove trim around air vents or around door and console where rotary shifter is. Also am I able to remove radio knobs and rotary shifter to at least plasti dip. What about chrome on steering wheel. I will try to upload pics to show what I mean. Any help appreciated

2023 Edge Titamiun thumps on braking

We had 7000km on our Ford Edge (got it last August) when we left Canada to drive 2500km to Florida Keys; 5 days later, drove another 500km to The Villages, Florida. Car drove and braked perfectly all that time. Washed the car about a week later and, next time we drove it, felt thumping on braking. Proceeded to get worse each time we drove it. Took it to a Ford dealership who said there was rust on the rotors so bad that the rotors were gauged by it. Dealer claimed not covered by warranty. They "cleaned" the rotors and said it was safe to drive and would improve with driving. We're now on our way home to Canada, and the thumping is getting progressively worse on braking (luckily,not much braking on the hwy). Does this sound legit to anyone???

2009 Ford Edge - lock up

purchased a Ford Edge from a Friend - 2009 Limited (3.5L)

he did not know the background on the vehicle - drove it 100 miles after replacing the valve cover gaskets (has 187K on it now)

pulled up to a stoplight on the way home and the car died. Tried to restart - it would crank but not start

thought it was the battery - replaced and tried to start again

tried to start (hear the starter hitting) but engine does nto turn over like before

worried that timing chain broke and bent valves

will get towed to the house - what is the easiest way to determined if salvageable? (scope for bent valves - pull cover inspect timing chain) - I would run compression test but wont turn over right now

Hey Everyone! I’ve been wanting a Ford Edge ST since I test drove a new one in 2020, but didn’t get the new job so didn’t buy a car then. I’ve had a company car for 19 years so haven’t bought a new car myself in decades, but got a new role at work and lose my company car. I don’t have a trade nor do I have a lot of money saved for a down payment so I’m looking at ways to get as new as I can but cheapest.

I have been looking primarily at 2019/2020 models that were in my price range. I have specific options I want so been obsessively searching for “the one”. I’ve found a 2021 off personal lease with 80K in highway miles (the dealer that sold it new is where it’s listed at and they have a long history with its previous owner). It has EVERY option I want and none I don’t, and is my favorite color - Performance Blue. The dealer has been the best to deal with so far out of the dozen I’ve reached to.

Am I CRAZY to consider this vehicle in order to afford a 2021? There are a few new features that I really want like the auto dimming side view mirrors, larger screen with SYNC 4 and the USB-C port.

Any advice on what to ask? Look for?? Or consider???

Hi everyone! I just bought used 2019 Ford Edge SEL from a rental car company and I'm making my way through cleaning it and getting it the way I like it. There are a few things I'm missing - second key, floor mats, probably others I haven't found yet. One thing I was wondering is if the Edge is supposed to have a rubber or other insert in the cup holders or if they're supposed to look like this?
