I could be listening to my usb music or Bluetooth or anything and 9 times out of 10, the next restart my sync3 goes to fm radio on its own on restart and its always a Christian rock station. I dont even have the station programmed as a saved station. Maybe car is trying to tell me something. Anyone else have this issue with their fiesta with sync 3.

Hello, I have a 2015 Fiesta. SYNC has had issues but they were always fixed by pulling a certain fuse. Waiting for a count of 30, then replacing the fuse. The last two times though this has not worked as before.

The most common issue was that SYNC would stop recognizing my voice. Then it would only stream calls from the phone but not music. Fuse pull and replace would fix it in less than five minutes. Last time I tried it SYNC stopped working for over a day afterward then suddenly kicked on and worked again. This time it hasn't.

As of now when I press the media button it activates for a second or two but crashes out immediately.

SO other than the fuse pull and the battery disconnect trick. Both of which I have tried more than once.... is there anything else I can do? My ford dealer wants $150 just to look at it.

We recently had 2 Fiestas this decade, and were what the Dr. ordered. Wife's cars and being hatchbacks, perfect for her ceramics business. We were sent a rebate check because Ford couldn't confirm fuel mileage numbers or similiar problem. Was getting 42 MPG both cars on trips and had no problem with that, thank you Ford.

The extra room in the garage was phenomenal with car inside. But between that and the Focus I saw almost identical cars with maybe a bit more cargo room in Focus. Thought they were grafted, a longer rear was added and that was it (also told 2 completely different ideas).

So why would there be 2 vehicle choices so mirror imaged? Seems like a big production expense not to mention the available versions; the Focus was more expensive.

Would you be impressed if I told you I had one of the original 1978 Ford Fiestas imported into the US? We bought it new from a Ford dealer in Burleson, TX, and drove it the next day to Massachusetts.

It was one of our all-time favorite cars, and at least part of the inspiration for ordering our new Mustang with a stick shift.

Hello everybody,

Thanks for your input on the last transmission problem my wife's Fiesta transmission. Ford covered the 2nd rebuild on her transmission at 61,000 miles becuase it spit out the codes referenced in the letter offered with the warranty to 125,000 miles. The 21,000 mile rebuild was covered under standard powertrain warranty. However, it now has 85,000 miles and the shudder of doom (as I've taken to calling it) is back - it feels just like it did the last two times but has not gotten to the point where it is as bad as before - only occasionally on the 1-2 shift and not every time. My natural response is to get the zone rep name and number, but realistically I know that really will not go anywhere.

Needless to say, if my wife was not a Ford Fan she would never consider one again. Does anyone think we can get the dealership to give us a fair trade in on something else (and yes - I have been barking up the "you should learn to drive stick and never have the problem again tree" and she might just be there)?

The dealership found that a seal was improperly installed and rebuilt the transmission, replacing the 2-4-6 clutch amongst other things, under warranty. Well now she has 61,000 miles on it and it is now shuddering from takeoff, into 2nd, and into 3rd once the car is warm. At this point I doubt that another rebuild will last. What are the chances of getting Ford to pick up some (or all) of the cost for a 3rd transmission?

2015 Ford Fiesta ST

A MUST READ: this weekend's Wall Street Journal's Auto Critic (Dan Neil) Review of the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST. Mr Neil holds no punches and literally 'tells it like it is!" His full back page reviews choose a different vehicle each weekend. Last week he slammed the 2014 Nissan Versa Note, with quotes :"the CVT transmission moans like it is in the third day of a four day exorcism!" The title of the review was appropriate: "Sometimes, you just get what you pay for!" Enough said!

However, this weekend's feature is a sharp Red Fiesta ST. Too many great comments to mention...one of my favorites is : "The Fiesta ST's taut modernist bod, bandy proportions and unsmiling, on task visage help it avoid the box office poison of cuteness. Think of it as a hot hatch Aston Martin!"

He went on with this about the performance: "Pin the throttle, grab a gear and the ST takes off like a hooked trout...!" Neil goes on : "You can dive into a tight 35 MPH curve...breath off the the gas gently and the car will come around with a sweet, catchable trailing throttle oversteer...when pointed in the right direction, lay on the coal. The Fiesta ST claws away like a cat escaping a water pistol!"

(I'm quoting directly from the article)

I'm assuming from his many metaphors he kind of liked the new 2014 Ford Fiesta ST.

A few weeks ago, my 2011 Ford Fiesta encountered a rather hard (although nothing extreme) stop at an awkwardly positioned stop light. Seconds after the stop, the RPMs starting fluctuating up and down while idling and then the engine shut off. I restarted the car and drove without further issue, with the exception of the "Hill Assist" and "AdvanceTrac" lights illuminated on the instrument panel. My best guess was that the hard stop prompted an automatic shutoff of the engine, something programmed in case of accidents to possible fire.

In the two weeks after this incident, I've encountered no repeats of the situation, although the previously light displays came on again. Then driving to work two days ago, the car stalled again at the stoplight after exiting the freeway, and then did the same thing on the way home (with the two lights displayed both times). The only two factors present all three times were idling at a stoplight after exiting a freeway and secondly, having under 50 miles worth of gas left (but had enough to know I did not run out of gas).

Taking the car to the Ford dealership the first time revealed no information. It is now there for a second time and they have still yet to find anything. They have ran computer tests, spoken to Ford directly, test driven the car, etc. = nothing.

Here are some items I had requested they consider:

-O2 sensor
-EGR valve
-IAC (idle air control)
-Throttle body
-Clogged idle air passage
-Catalytic converter
-Fuel injection system
-Airflow sensor
-Fuel pressure regulator

With the newness of the car, I'd be surprised if anything major was causing this. My best thought is that there is an electronic miscommunication between the drive assist features and the engine/idle control.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
