  1. I'd bet that far more people know the Corsair as an airplane. FWIW, an Aviator flew a Corsair, and the Nautilus had a Navigator, so it's not like those terms are unrelated.

  2. I know the Corsair as an Edsel, but it's still a nice name.

  4. Good info, thank you jpd80 sir. Here's the guidance document from EPA about applying road-load force and dynamometer settings correctly for vehicles under test. Pretty intricate stuff. Gotta respect the engineers who do this type of work. https://iaspub.epa.gov/otaqpub/display_file.jsp?docid=34102&flag=1

  6. yes Bob, I read there has been some sticky points already! But hold onto your hat: I did some research and I came up with some info. First of all, Brazil is about half of South America. Now according to my info, VW in 2016 sold 17,780 trucks and buses. In Brazil, Daimler sold 15,200 units in 2015. So am I correct that Ford was selling about 15,000 units? So it appears Ford was running neck and neck with the big boys Daimler and VW and Ford is getting out because they aren't number one???!!! You're kidding, right?! Sounds fishy to me!

  7. If you knew how schools are teaching kids how to multiply two, 2-digit numbers you'd understand! They have to draw a box and place the numbers in a certain way! It took my grandson 2 minutes to show me! My old-school way took me 5 seconds. The dumbing down of America.

  9. Same short sighted blunder as before. Bleeding market share to focus on the cash cows. Last time around Toyota, Honda, and Nissan ate up ten points of their market share before they got the ship righted. What they found out the last time around was that abandoning segments takes them off people's shopping list. When a kid has to buy a Hyundai or Honda starting out he may never bother going to the Ford store when he decides it's time to buy one of those cash cows. When domestic manufacturers lose customers to these brands they are very difficult to bring back. Ford is throwing away customers that it may never get back.
