  1. 5 years ago today. You were a big part of the group here, Nick, and are still missed. RIP buddy!

  2. I can assure you, as a "driveway owner" of a Ford truck, that nothing but a Ford truck will ever be in my driveway.

  3. Someone that does not use their truck for work. Think commuter/lifestyle truck owner, own a truck for camping once a year and the occasional Lowes run.

  4. My Reserve I should land this week. I didn't want to dish out the extra $5700 for the Reserve II, but not sure I really like the wheels on mine at all, but didnt want to dish out the extra $5700 for the II which looks amazing with those wheels. I'm going to have to see it in person and drive it, and if I don't love it I may just pick up a fully loaded St Explorer and bank the difference.

  5. Private marketing metrics, Toyota has the highest % of sales of "Lifestyle" buyers, but GM leads in total sales. Once you data mine the metrics out you get a really good idea of the buyer and can even predict how many will leave and where they will go and even why. A company will create names and design a product around that person; this target consumer is even getting into the news media world were a network will create a person and tailor the news to that particular demographic. If you look at new trucks you can get a good picture of which buyer demographic they are targeting with their respective pickups.

  6. Another ditto! Am I considered a 'driveway owner' if I use mine for "play" work. I mean, I would think towing a 13k lb fifth wheel qualifies as work for my truck. Even though it doesn't even break a sweat.

  7. To add to what Akirby said, many are waiting for 2 things. 1) The 2020 redesign with the 3rd gen 6.7. 2) The 2020 with the all new 7.3 gas. The fact that sales are still climbing, higher transaction with less on the hood and so many holding out for August order banks to open.. well ya, enough said.

  8. Making a boring car is easy, but making something that ugly means they're trying too hard.

  9. The Escape never had the powershift transmission....

  10. Ford has spent years rebuilding reliability with Focus, Escape and Fiesta to ruin everything with Powershift and get back to square one. It seems like a cycle that has no end. They build a reliable car, but it always seems like a catastrophe happens for reliability to be over. The Escort was a great car for three decades, but everything was ruined by the poorly made fifth generation. They did the Focus as a fresh start, and now it was hit by the Powershift. Taurus managed to stay ahead of the Japanese cars in the 80s, but somehow ruined it in the 90s, discontinued it once and now again is out of lineup. Something is wrong and lingers on American brands that can not follow Toyota and Honda.

  11. I’m close enough for use of BL Benfits. I ordered normal BL in the same theme and flight blue. It’s currently in production and they are firm on 4 to 6 weeks at this point because they are releasing cars now at the plant. Strange that we haven’t seen any reviews yet. I’m going to call my fleet manager and check on the press fleet to see about the reviews as I get vehicles to review. If my dealer has any to take I will do that date night thing and put up a review on my site and share with you all.

  12. It’s not the mistake. It’s the resolution that counts. A mistake that was just an oversight or a design flaw is one thing. Knowing that a problem exists and proceeding without change then trying to cover it up is pure negligence.

  13. I think it is a generation thing. Lol I work with a few folks who have Tesla's. They love them except for having to drive "charging station" routes. Using A/C on full cold in the summer drains the battery pretty quick. I have Labradors and a Pointador, all like the back roads. Maybe one day when they get 400+ miles out of one with A/C on blast, I'll look at an all electric. I use my Mustang for Hot Rodding, but all of my other vehicles are performance oriented except the truck. This will replace the F-150. The F-150 will go, just not "hang on to your britches were merging into 80 MPH traffic on the interstate fast".

  14. Don't all of the T6 variants and the Colorado use six lug wheels? This thing only has five....

  17. More like Chevy decided they couldn't compete with Ford head to head without a $5K price advantage. And even then they're still losing.

  18. I have to disagree. All you are doing is SHIFTING the emissions from the tail pipe over to a power plant. Since most power plants are still carbon based, you've only shuffled the deck. Yes, better power plant options are coming online. Wind, solar, etc. But I seriously doubt any nuclear plants will get built any time soon. Not until they can come up with a way to guarantee we won't have another Fukishima on our hands.

  19. Reliability wise it would have been enough better to not have this fiasco, maybe. But 1.5 Ecoboost is a completely different beast than the 2.0 N/A. MPG loss with 6f35 paired to 2.0 would put Focus with no real advantage over the competition and when DPoS6 is right, it "works" better with the 2.0's output than a standard slushbox would. Drive a 2wd Ecosport and a Focus back to back, ignoring the obvious differences in chassis. Their weights are essentially the same. JPD the fault is not with the converter itself, it is with the way that they use it to smooth the inherent roughness of a FWD 4 banger's power impulses. I am in no way defending the DPoS6, but 6F35 was not the answer. Forgot to add, that Friday, Ford essentially expanded 14M01 to include up to MY17.
