  1. Nothing in this industry is permanent except for maybe plant closures.

  2. There were a lot of people disappointed in the more urban and feminine style of the 2013 and newer Escape versus the boxy 2012 and older models so this baby Bronco should appeal to those people. I always thought the '08-'12 Escapes were quite handsome little SUVs.

  3. Those spy shots make it look close in size and greenhouse shape to this right here.

  4. Current Edge is basically two different models - the sporty looking 5 seat fastback and a square back 7 seat one that looks almost like a minivan. Ford will replace both of these and one of them will inherit the Edge name, we just don't know which one is which yet. Midsize utility #1 - sporty looking, probably with 5 seats to replace Edge and Fusion/Mondeo Midsize utility #2 - middle of the market, probably with 7 seats to replace Edge and S-Max/Galaxy Midsize utility #3 - rugged looking (Bronco)

  5. 7 years ago, our case management vendor we were switching to didn't support VMware and virtual machines. They said it wasn't tested and reliable. We went ahead and did it anyway. It's saved our bacon more times than I can count. Our vendor would randomly switch the specs on the servers needed. With VM's, we could add/remove cores, memory, and HD space at will. If we had gone pizza boxes, we'd be constantly replacing them. Not to mention reliability. Of course now our vendor likes to use us as their "success" story as to why VM's can work. Never mind they have no idea how we've deployed our blades and storage array's for maximum utilization.

  6. The reason they’re going multi core and hyper threads is to support virtualization and cloud where you have dozens of vms running on the same server. Running bare metal with one os instance is extremely inefficient nowadays.

  13. Well, we added another Ford to our garage today. It wasn't a new one, but it's new to us. My mother-in-law purchased a new Escape, so we bought her 2014 with 30k miles. It'll be my wife's daily driver. We haven't decided yet if we are going to sell the Flex or keep it as a 4th vehicle. We will have 3 drivers in the next month or so, so having an additional vehicle would be nice (and so I don't have to drive my Super Duty on short trips). The deals right now are crazy on Escapes. She got $5700 in rebates on a $34k car, and another $3k+ in dealer savings. When it was finished, she got about 28% off sticker. It's time for the 2020 to show up so Ford can hopefully scale back on the rebates. My MIL did get me a hat and shirt thrown in since I found an additional $1250 PCO rebate and haggled another few hundred bucks out of the price. ? I know, I know, I don't have any pics. The wife will be cleaning up her new ride tonight!

  14. I find the current iteration to be handsome. I generally HATE the split headlight look, but I will say the Blazer is by far the best implementation of that look in the industry, IMO (not that that's a high bar to cross). I'm cautiously optimistic it'll look ok here.
