  1. Even Ford's biggest detractors can't say this isn't a great thing. I've never heard of GM, Toyota, Nissan, or anyone else doing things like this and this isn't the first time I saw an article like this on Ford. If they did, please share as good stories are nice to hear. https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/ford-revamps-mustang-for-dad-who-sold-car-years-ago-to-pay-wifes-medical-bills/ar-AAFDHsI?ocid=spartanntp

  2. In what world is a buyer cross shopping a Honda Clarity with an Aviator GT?!

  3. Boring to you equals more sales to others and you have baby bronco for those wanting a more edgy design.

  4. The world of facts may not be as you see them. I'm sure if your vision was achievable, they would have done it. But lets say they could have made your day, maybe they are budgeting their credits. GM and Tesla are in phase out. In a business case, it is more important to sell more vehicles than keep a few customers happy. You will see lots of moaning also as the GT's won't be any where close to easy to get. A loaded GT and a loaded Reserve are only separated by $1600 after tax rebates. Watch for the dreaded ADM when dealers realize these are hard to get. Other factors could be weight which effects towing and fuel economy, there has to be a balance and you have to sandbag a new model for competition sake. They also could be keeping a price point gap between it and the Gator. Unless you wear a suit and tie at the Glass House everyday and have a private office, you can only guess why they did what they did.

  5. The PIH is for maximum sustained high performance - with a regular hybrid you don’t store enough battery power for that. its a little disappointing but if the alternative was to compromise other areas then I think it was the right choice, the price alone puts it out of reach of most normal PIH buyers.

  6. So they are not looking to expand their clientele? I got the performance side story. The short range is just "short" in an otherwise perfect vehicle, for me.

  7. Never had an issue with loaner drop off and pickup on our mkx but it depends on the dealer. whether it’s worth the cost is entirely up to you. There are significant upgrades including the warranty.

  8. If you are more price conscious and concerned about value the 2019 Expedition Platinum is probably the best value right now. Shop around and you can find dealers with great deals below invoice as they start clearing out the 2019's (2020's arrive ~Novermber). I have test driven both. Room wise they are the same. The Navigator has more comfort and more power which is a little offset by its heavier weight. The HUD on the Navigator is awesome. That being said though I am still leaning heavily to the Expedition mainly due to price difference, unless I can find a Lincoln Dealer willing to make a deal (my local dealer won't budge off of MSRP yet). The pick up and delivery is great. Sometimes they don't always leave a loaner if it is just a quick oil change, but most of the time they will. You do have to schedule in advance for that, but it isn't an issue. We have an MkC and they usually use another MkC or MkX for the loaner. They haven't upgraded to the Nautilus yet. I think the Navigator owners get another Navigator, but the one ours uses is the Select or no option Reserve.

  9. Auto level headlights are cool I like watching them "ratchet" down the rear end of the driver in front of me. The loaners are nice though you have to reserve them weeks in advance at my local dealerships I can't plan part failures so they sometimes stick me in an mkx if that happens which sucks. The ride is really what sets them apart for me sure the leather is supposed to be better and you can get 30 way massaging seats in the nav but the cabin noise and smoothness of the ride is infinitely better in the nav than the expy.

  12. There’s quite a few Foxbodies running around with Coyotes under the hood, so fitting the 7.3 shouldn’t be hard.

  13. Beat me to it. Evan Smith has already started swapping one before its even released to the public. Tell me Ford isn't behind the scenes on this one? That fits in there as easy as the Windsor in my own FoxBody.

  14. @evanjsmith wrote...Yes, it fits! First look at a 7.3L Godzilla in a Foxbody. At 445 cubic inches, is this the next LS killer we’ve all been waiting for? Stay tuned for more on this swap, including info on the install kit. 15. Nice try JD Power... Seriously though after 18 months and 25,000 miles there aren't any big things that would stop me from buying another. There are issues with the electronics regarding the seat memory, radio, side mirrors, ECM, TCM, etc. They have been minor inconveniences to me personally. I tow my family's boat approx 4,000 lbs and it's no problem. I've pulled a travel trailer that weighed 7,000 lbs, I wouldn't recommend much more than that as the braking and swaying gets uncomfortable for me. Having 3 kids being able to separate them is awesome. I'm constantly reminded how quiet the interior is when I ride in friends and families vehicles and get back into the navigator. I wouldn't recommend the rear entertainment system to anyone. After playing with one at the dealer I opted not to get it because if I couldn't figure it out my kids weren't going to be able to. For the money 3 decent tablets for the kids and some headphones goes a long way added bonus you can keep them on educational content. I live in the suburbs and when I'm forced to go downtown I take the wife's car as it is smaller. In Houston parking big vehicles isn't typically a problem due to the abundance of large trucks, parking lots and garages are usually sized to accommodate. I got the L and it's not that bad bulk grocery shopping and being able to put everyone's suitcase in the back on long trips sold it for me. I think that answered most of your questions. Though I have zero experience of minivans, I rode in one 10 years ago that belonged to my aunt so cannot give an AB comparison. The only thing I do often is wonder why I didn't just get an expedition platinum. I would have saved 15k and likely not lost much. That's my .02 also if I was to buy one now you might as well wait for the 2020 as it is supposed to be getting all of the tech goodies from the aviator like lane centering and some better automated driving.

  20. Won't be much change until NG Ranger in 2021 CY (late) most of Ranger's lowish sales is due to premium prices, give them good incentives and watch em start moving...

  22. It's not that we object to constructive criticism. It just seems like you expected them to "Make it your way". You have a rationale of why it should of been that way based on your specific needs. I can understand disappointment to a degree that doesn't check all of YOUR boxes, but Ford didn't just build this for you. They made a business decision on data that you and I aren't privy to (price, demographics, engineering, etc).

  23. https://www.tflcar.com/2019/08/yes-the-2020-lincoln-aviator-hybrid-has-nearly-500-horsepower-and-more-torque-than-the-new-corvette-stingray/ The Aviator GT might only go 18 miles on just the battery, but it has more power than the new mid engine Corvette Stingray... and it cant even get out of the garage on just the battery!!!
