  1. Ford Authority is now reporting that the baby Bronco could be named Bronco Sport. I like Scout but anything is better than Adventurer. http://fordauthority.com/2019/08/baby-ford-bronco-may-not-called-adventurer/

  2. Yeah, the Lincoln is my mother's car. Too funny you just posted that. She initially thought you need to press 'M' and either '1,2 or 3' to RECALL a memory-position - and there goes your permanent setting - LOL!?

  4. If you haven't discovered this "hack" yet, you can go into your browsers address, and increase the search radius above the 100 miles offered in the chart. This number is in kilometers, and the maximum you can input is about 1990, but it really allows you to search a wider area on your own, without resorting to using multiple zip codes. HRG

  5. We’ve had some very hot days where the air-conditioner would keep up only on max. I’m sure the cold Minnesota winters will affect the heaters efforts to warm the driver as well. $50 materials, and the chance to use up some of the things I had been saving for years, allowed me to make this partition. I added features I had not seen elsewhere, an access to the fold down front seat for 8 foot lumber, even 10 foot conduit and grab handles on either side to aide in climbing inside. Rustoleum satin Charcoal Grey is a close match to the plastic interior sections

  6. All the above is correct, the SLAS suspension is a superior set up for handling/road holding and minimum tire scrub while the Mac Strut with a knuckle is the equivalent of GM's superstrut, it's an efficient low cost front suspension that allows Ford to do away with the upper control arm and large outer link for significant cost savings.

  7. Plus Scout just makes sense for something small.... quick, and nimble, but that's just my 2c

  9. Agreed on scout. Sport is SUPER generic but Adventurer is kind of dorky, and rolls of the tongue weird.

  10. TT, Well on that note, I agree-except I think that makes the case for a new cab that serves 450/550 chassis that are built at OAP plus 650, 750 and the E cut aways. Ford currently uses 3 cab structures at OAP- aluminum 450/550, steel SD cab for 650/ 750 and the E series steel cab structure-for which the dies must be about shot! Seems like there should be some economics for a new cab that would work for all 3-perhaps based on Transit glass house?? I've posted this thought before.

  11. https://www.griggsracing.com/chassis-debate-sla-vs-macpherson-strut/ Correct, struts help to lower the price on the high volume Explorer while SLA offers superior ride, handling and alignment for the lower volume higher priced Aviator.

  12. It really depends on your body type, there is not one kind fits all seats. I always shop my travel car for seats first, if your not comfortable in the saddle, the trip will be twice as long. The other thing is, you really need to sit in them for a while and get them adjusted to what suits you. I spent the first day getting them perfect, on a lot of stops I had to hit the memory so I would not search any longer. Day 2 was pure bliss. I wish the Lincoln Way app had a way to lock your settings so someone else like the wife doesn't erase what does take a minute to set up.

  13. And other dealers are giving $5k off MSRP for Navigators. Takeaway, always shop around regardless of what your local dealers say. Sometimes it is worth a $200 plane ticket to drive one home.

  17. The pick up for service is a life saver, my kids would not deal with waiting at the dealership, no way. The service at my dealer is awesome and they seem to be much better at customer service at the Lincoln dealer than the Ford from what I’ve read from the Expedition owners. I had a tough time with putting car seats and all the kid related stuff into the brand new 90K vehicle, especially since it is the most expensive vehicle we’ve ever owned. I just make a point to stay on top of the mess and it hasn’t been an issue. I have the kids trained to grab any trash and they love the fact that they can help out, now if I could get my wife on board with that it would be nice. It’s my daily driver and it’s been 20 months and 20k miles and I still look forward to driving it.

  18. I drove a Loaded Reserve today. Amazing. Can’t wait to drive GT BL. As for people from other brands buying it. It’s going to conquest so many BMW’s and MB it will make your heads spin. The details and the way it drives and rides with the dynamic suspension....well it was amazing. After 17 Range Rovers and Jags our next car is a GT BL.

  19. Those are virtually the same numbers as the 7.3 had stock in Super Duty. With 4 speed automatics. Remember GM twins have the only clean sheet diesel here. They moved their bar towards efficiency. FCA and Ford would rather tow more but they are using existing engines that happen to fit between the frame rails and meet NVH requirements. If they were just chasing MPG numbers they would be smaller and less capable most likely. These things are to satisfy the "gotta have a diesel" option, nothing more. There is no real reason to buy one.

  20. I’m glad that the theme for this year is “We are one” so we should be getting a big payday in September. Just like our leadership has been stuffing their pockets for years. Lock the Double talking self serving assholes up and take their UAW pensions away.

  21. jaguar I-pace starts at $69k audi etron starts at $74k mercedes EQC is rumored to start around $70k polestar 2 starts at $55k These are all luxury brands. Again, Lincoln fits better here. If the ford cost as much as the luxury brands do that would mean the Lincoln would have to be even more expensive. These luxury brands make up the top end, the Kia niro like vehicles make up the bottom end. I’d imagine the Mach e would be on the upper end of the midrange vehicles. Who knows though, I could be way off

  22. I bet it’s cheaper. thats Jaguar I-pace and Tesla model x pricing. If there’s a Lincoln version, sure maybe around there, but I’d imagine the ford starting around $50k.

  23. The name is interesting indeed...Menlo as in Menlo Park where Thomas Edison started GE. Edison was a close friend and confidant of Henry Ford.

  24. The 50 km doesn't matter in the US or Europe, it only matters on the export version sent to China. To me the hybrid is just a small bonus. I drove the regular for an entire weekend on all types of roads. It blew my wives Q5 Quattro away by a very large gap IMO. It cost 10K more, and the features and ride in the Aviator was well worth it. When I jumped back in my F-150 contour seats, I almost thought they changed them with the oil, the difference was that pronounced. THe tax rebate will be 6K or 6.1K depending on how the IRS does the decimal rounding. The difference in price between a loaded GT and a loaded regular after the rebate is $2,125. The GT is a no brainer for the better gas mileage and fast fun factor. 20-25 or 30 Miles in EV does not matter to me. If it mattered, I'd wait a year or two.

  25. Here's a thought...let your wife drive it and see if she likes it. If she does, buy the damn thing for her. If not, move on to something else.

  26. He can't help it. He has a very specific requirement that doesn't fit Lincoln's vision, therefore it's a failure.
