  2. It's fine that they're comparing the two. The problem is how they're doing it. Performance - 6.0 for each. Completely ignores the Aviator's power advantage and ignores the PHEV additional power instead griping about the 18 mile range. Under the Kia it notes that it takes bumps better than competitors (but doesn't mention the Aviator specifically). How is that performance??? Comfort and quality. They say Aviator is better with 30 way adjustable seats, etc. but give both 9.0 because the Kia has room for everyone and their gear. Well so does the Aviator but it has more amenities. Under features the Kia wins 9.0 to 8.0 solely on the basis of the Kia being cheaper and better Value. Well that depends on what you're looking for. What they should have said is the the Aviator offers more features and more performance but also costs a lot more and that the Kia was a good bargain.

  3. I thought the UAW wasn't going to do pattern bargain anymore. Cause each company is different.

  4. If you have an iPhone and the Shortcuts app installed, I’ve created a iOS Shortcut that asks you for your VIN and then pushes that info to the Ford order tracking site and pulls four pieces of info: Production Date Primary Status Status Shipment Date You can click the shortcut anytime to get order status and also program the shortcut with Siri to ask for car status. I made mine “Car status”, so I can ask “Hey Siri, Car Status” and she will respond “Built: 2019-07-19, In Production, Returned from Offsite and Ship Date: ” Simply make sure you have the Shortcuts app installed and follow this link on your iPhone to install the shortcut. It will ask for your VIN on the first run - from there you can get your status any time quickly and easily Use this link on your iPhone [ Shortcut ] (you might need to copy the full URL from your browser since this forum auto-shortens long URLS) Enjoy.

  5. I will strongly disagree with you there. I think it's a VERY vocal minority. I think the majority of the global population at the very least doesn't care but most very wary of autonomous technology.

  6. I agree with all the above. However, I don’t see why the drier has to be replaced as long as the desiccant bag hasn’t ruptured. I see that no different that a leak that emptied the system. Applying 28 inches of vacuum should boil out all the moisture. However, it would be recommended that the system be on a vacuum pump for at least 30 Mins and let set under that vacuum for another 30. If no vacuum loss, then moisture has been boiled out. Unfortunately with a TXV and not a removable orfice tube, it’s hard to see how much trash is in the system. I suspect the system will work for quite some time without issue.

  7. You talkin bout the same negotiators that fly to the best resorts in Nevada? Same negotiators that play golf on the most exclusive courses all over the United States? Same negotiators that give parties with scantily clad women sitting in negotiators laps while lighting the negotiators Cubin ceegars? Those negotiator`s??? Don`t think they would know much about a train station. Wait... unless the train station was being rehabbed as a joint venture training center

  9. I am on my second Lincoln vehicle but my next purchase may be a Ford Bronco which has nothing to do with being "hard pressed" with lack of money issues...There will be no Lincoln counter-part to the Bronco and I am willing to bet there will be a Titanium, Platinum, or King Ranch variant of it....

  10. Depends on where you get your info. Actual figures seem to be a big corporate secret these days. Years ago when we use to have classes for everything, they had a handout of a pie chart which showed percentages for the various cost associated with building a vehicle. At that time labor was 6-8%, don't remember the exact figure. Before I posted I Googled the question and came up with anywhere from 3-15%. According to the old company pie chart our labor was the smallest percentage of the cost of a vehicle, yet every contract the company starts this big theatrical production using the TV news stations, newspapers, trolls, our own union, etc to campaign against our wages because, as you recall, they're broke. Same old broken record every contract, BECAUSE IT WORKS. I'm glad that at least someone else is aware of the small percentage our wage represents in the cost of a vehicle.

  12. Thank you. the opportunity costs are different for the respective players an existing ICE auto maker transitioning to Electrification has two choices, either progress through the intermediate hybrid steps or leap straight to BEV. GM and VW are doing the latter which gives the immediate wow effect both are looking for as a market advantage but Ford and Toyota are committed to hybrids and PHEVs which is a great way to transition major products, resources and existing buyers as well as getting them ready for BEVs. Absolutely, Tesla constantly up against it with Funding while Ford has Billions in the bank, an open check book in comparison supported by mature production lines sales. The disrupor will tell you that it's hard for Ford to give up it's ICE F Trucks but the reality is that a BEV F Truck is just another Version of F150 carefully crafted to make use of all existing production facilities and supplier resources.

  13. Don't forget, our labor cost only accounts for about 10% of the price of a vehicle. Don't fall for the usual old song and dance ritual, it's a con.

  14. I think I've been pretty clear about how I feel about that. Im glad something is finally being done with that thing but I really wish it was someone else.

  15. Ceasing planned production of most cars and dropping about a billion dollars in a train station up north is not helping the bottom line either. You do not cut your way to prosperity.

  16. I feel so sorry I didn`t take a bigger cut in pay and benefits over the last four years Ford reported only $23,000,000,000.00 total in the last four years of profit...mind you only $23,000,000,00.00 how will Ford ever be able to make it Dam those UAW people How bout in progression people dropping back to $14.00 an hour and another 18 months with no dependent health coverage? STS`ers could help by never counting on building seniority and maybe $11.00 an hour? Legacy people just give back all four years of profit sharing checks and stop going to work so much.....

  17. The fact they are using the Turbo badging just seems ridiculous on an electric engine. As I said on Twitter, might as well just call it HEMI or DOHC.

  19. No, not at all. In fact, Ford do Brasil just started development for their next EcoSport. Territory is coming down there. Word is the Escape is also going into Brazil. They just lanced the facelift Ranger. F-150 is going to be sold in Argentina.

  21. And I was right about Ford needing to just bring back the FE, and lo and behold, we have a 4.2" bore by 3.97" stroke pushrod engine. And all of the 'experts' here are labeling it as 'heavy'. With aluminum heads, intake (not composite like the new 7.3), an FE comes in at 500 lbs, even with an iron block. How does that compare with the smaller Ford engines? What are the official specs on the new 7.3? Anyone actually know? Deck height Bore Spacing Weight
