  1. The problems may be mysterious, but the fact that Ford botched yet another new product launch is not.

  2. It will be capable off road. It will have driveline control module and e locker disconnect (forgot if just rear or front as well). It will be able to rock crawl as well. Interior is nothing fancy but more fore utility, storage, and very easy to hose down if if gets dirty off roading.

  4. Well the transmission in my 2013 fusion crapped out on me this week and the cost to replace it is almost as much as what the car is worth so it looks like I’m getting a new ride. Now normally getting a new vehicle is a pretty exciting time, however none of ford’s current products really excite me knowing that so many new and refreshed vehicles are coming out in the next two years, but I need a car so I gotta pick something. I thought I had it pretty much narrowed down to a ranger lariat with black appearance package, but my local dealer didn’t even have a lariat for me to sit much less test drive, so I went up there to drive an xlt they did have. I liked the truck. It drove nice although it felt a bit floaty. The engine was great. Loved the ride height. Its biggest downfall for me was the interior. It just felt cramped and old. Now if I didn’t have a family, it’d be perfect. While at the dealership, I saw they had some new 2020 explorers so we decided to drive one just for fun. We test drove just an xlt with no options. For being the “base” model, the xlt is surprisingly well equipped, and the interior design looked great (much better in person) and the materials used felt nice. I believe the engine is the same 2.3l ecoboost that’s in the ranger with a different tune. It felt noticeably slower than the ranger of the line, but still felt adequate. Acceleration felt better in passing situations though. My wife really liked it and the interior just felt so much better than the ranger. So it looks like an explorer is in our future. Just waiting on the dealer to get the one we want shipped in. Hopefully they get it in tomorrow and I’ll have a new car this weekend.

  5. Save yourself the $100 and just plug your phone in to the car and use google maps.

  7. Know what else they'll do that Tesla can't? Make a profit.

  8. I'd rather Ford slow down, work out all the problems, and then deliver flawless vehicles to customers, than to rush the process and deliver the SUVs with a lot of problems. That will really hurt Ford in the long run.

  9. Listen to the Autoline Daily broadcast (link in first post). Probably a minute long.

  10. Yes it's integrated into the rear camera system on the rest of the vehicle. But it still requires a stick on camera on the back of the trailer. Ford could (and should) include this in the next gen. The technology is not proprietary to GM.

  11. Wow, after reading that article, it sounds as if the sky is falling. I don't know how much is real and if any is exaggeration, but damn. Knock on wood, my Ranger just passed 10k miles and not a single issue.

  12. As an ST owner.. this type of BS gives owners zero confidence in the product. After a 2011 disaster with numerous recalls and TSBs, I expected a recall here and there but this many issues already.. this many delays... and zero communication from Ford to customers really angers me. Thank god I have an 8yr/150k ESP on it. Here we go again with. Being the Guinea pigs and being their damn testers paying premium pricing at launch. I already have 3 issues.. 1) missing the tow adapter that screws into the bumper ( all explorer forum members are missing them.. great QC). 2) trim piece scratched on the outside, 3) reclining lever is scratching the seat base.

  13. Is it just me or has Ford and Lincoln had product launch issues for half a decade now?

  18. There are some desirable side benefits to autostop... super duty starter, long life corrosion proof AGM battery, better bearings and special antifriction coatings throughout the engine, electric pump in the trany to maintain pressure while the eingine is off, HVAC refinements, etc. We have no problem switching between our one vehicle that has it and the others that don't. It's an older model with crude starts and stops, but we don't even notice it anymore.

  19. Honestly dont know much about mustang atm but what you said is my current understanding as well. 23 MY/s650 should have a MHT (hybrid) that will be crazy. Think Lincoln aviator GT power train, not sure if it will be a plugin but a V6 or maybe even v8 with electric motor sandwiched between the engine and 10 speed tranny. The toque on it will be mind blowing

  21. Appreciate your response. We love the 2019 Titanium Edge after trading our 2019 Acura for a grinding brake issue they couldn't solve. Today the dealer replaced my APIM module. My fingers are crossed that it holds out. Signed, Test Dummy

  23. Whats killin me is the FACT that the union membership has to pay for legal representation for these bums. You know that is the first issue to be decided this contract,$$$$ for the lawyers.Just keep showing up,do a good job and above all else be compliant, dont give management any attitude back. The Autoworkers Caravan has been pointing out the cozy relationship between IUAW and management for years.

  27. Am I the only one that thinks this looks like a design from about 6 years ago? Not too crazy about it and think its almost too "cute" to be a Defender.
