  1. Public comment sections of automotive pages are freaking open sewers of stupidity.

  2. Well, I got our Black Label a few weeks ago. Had one issue: the front windshield camera for many systems (lane keep assist, auto high beam, etc) needed to be recalibrated and a clip for its placement was missing possibly due to the windshield having to be replaced at the factory or the offsite location for performing the recalls. Supposedly mine was held up due to the recalls. Apart from that, it’s great and all panels are straight. Got it with about 30 miles and just racking up a couple hundred miles. Having to get used to the clicking of the electronics when getting out and the indecisiveness of the air suspension lowering or not for easy exit/entry. Great vehicle and so far so good outside of the one issue, which my dealership addressed right away.

  3. There are plenty of Black Label models in the high-end press videos from Napa that have beautifully straight chrome trims along the top of the doors - so it can be achieved, just not in some of the early production models. This correct one is from Lincoln press photos. I recommend everyone make sure these are straight and even. No excuse for this.

  5. "WE" need more dollars for lawyers,I mean UAW activities,Gary Jones."The best thing you can do for yourself right now is to plead guilty and start the sentence. As a matter of fact I wont even talk to you",Mary Barra.Question is,without knowing all the details, would GM`s base offer "pass" at Ford?Keeping our great healthcare with no co-insurance pays is nice.8 grand signing bonus, aint too shabby.Production will decide if the contract passes or fails.I would vote NO.The company can shave some time off the lower tiers wage progression and also 10 grand is better than 8.Yeah FEDS!

  6. Here she is... just before I got the windows tinted. Sorry, I know this is the wrong forum post for this.. but this is an example of a unit without those "issues". I'm thankful for that, thus far.

  7. Same group that needed to raise our (their party money) dues...... cause?? If anyone thinks region 5 be the only big spenders... think again. Our local sent 100K to region 4 to help remodel the Greathouse facility after a fire. It was asked why send 100K didn't the region have insurance? Then there is the Local pay for them to play fund... CAP (Call for Another Party) Oh Oh Oh then there is the come on buy these T-Shirts from Jimmy`s niece thingy.... etc etc etc Amazing shit one see`s and experiences while sitting on a local eboard..... back in the day I heard over and over......come on dam it you old long hair!!!! I don`t care that your local went to one shift!!!! cash one of those CD`s and send more people to Black Lake!!!! dam it or just buy 10K of CAP tickets..... Ahhh if the average member wasn`t so easily bull shitted. This shits been going on as far back as when the regional auditor sat on our eboard as the locals temporary financial secretary paid him self, got his wife (local secretary) a big severance check and then made out her next weeks check, never did stop her employment... then charged guests (at the door) of retired members to come to the retiree`s Christmas party, but strange no records of any deposits to the locals bank for the proceeds from the guests??? Hmmm Region 4 Director swish-------> IUAW President (now a Black Lake Homeowners Organization Member) Stop and think.... where did the IUAW start, local then region then? In most cases this shit goes from the top to the bottom. I`ll never forget the fatherly discussion...son (Dennis ain`t my Dad) if you`d just act right you could be going here and doing that as much as you want, I got big plans for you. WAIT WAIT let me get my Kevlar on.....

  8. By not emphasis quality from the beginning, Ford/Lincoln shot themselves on the feet. Don't know how long this going to last. Hopefully they can be resolved before I buy next year. I bought one of the very first productions of Infiniti JX 35, it has nearly 100K now and has 0 quality issue. The Explorer was on the top of my list then but was dropped due to abundant complains on quality issues on many forums.

  9. Just got an unsolicited call from my dealer offering an additional $$ off of my Aviator due to the long wait and presumably, bad press. To note, mine was built 7/19/19 and I have not called them since test driving one around that date. I stated it better be perfect, they agreed. I also asked them about the ones they have received - claimed no QC issues on any of them. I think i might swing by the lot and look at them myself to level-set my expectations. Of course, they still have no idea when mine will arrive....

  14. You need to take it for what it's worth. Most of those "journalists" want a Porsche Macan. I think it will sell well to women. That's just my opinion and I am not in marketing/demographics research.

  16. need to strike for 8 days before you're eligible for strike benefits, strike for 5 to save some of the credibility of the IUAW and use it as a loophole to tap into more strike funds without paying members. That's what I see.

  17. No. They're doing it when the normal line is shut down and using other employees and outside contractors.

  19. But from the standpoint of a buyer waiting on a vehicle that was already built but waiting for repair it’s exactly the same.

  21. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/09/16/2020-ford-explorer-lincoln-aviator-quality-control-issues/ This report is even more critical than freep's and also talks about what people on some forums are saying, including a quote from this forum.

  22. Wonder if during FBI questioning any of the IUAW staff asked "would you be interested in organizing?"

  23. So would people rather wait 2 years for failures to pile up, then get pissed when Ford has to recall millions of them? "Oh, Ford knew this problem existed 2 years ago and did nothing about it." It's a new model. There will be issues. Ford is on it immediately. Get over it. If you're not comfortable with that, then wait 2 years after production before buying a new model.

  24. I liked the interior..and the diamond plate...and that’s about it. I mean the old designs were awesome, they could have at least used some inspiration from the older models. .

  25. I’ve been keenly looking at the videos as well. Common among most posted to date are ill-fitting roof speaker grilles and weird ‘tufting’ on the outer bolster of the drivers seat. Also on the Autovlog review there was just a terrible upper interior b-pillar fit. Egregiously bad! I’m nervous as well as my second 2016 MKX, a custom order, came with a half-dozen glaring fit/finish issues. $70,000 vehicle to boot. Still leaks motor oil!
