  1. get ready for some updates on the new stuff...Bronco...2 door and 4, removable doors and YES manual and Auto...and TWO drivetrains. Mach E...two battery packs, starting around 45k...0-60 sub 3.5. Good stuff is a coming....probably only a matter of time before hazy photos are released...someone you KNOW snuck some shots when dealer principals were at the meet.

  3. I read this to be that there will be 2 ranges offered (and thus 2 different size battery packs, one for each range). As someone posted earlier, perhaps the 'standard' range is 150-200 miles, and the 'premium' range is the 300+ mile range we've heard mentioned.

  5. I'd chalk this up to trim / package differences. The version we saw was mostly locked in.

  9. To some degree. But honestly just look at what is selling right now and it should be no surprise that Ford is going this way. The biggest advantage is people will want baby Bronco and they won’t have to discount it very much and with Escape providing the volume they can keep production levels in line with demand. It’s a relatively low risk project with high potential. But we will have to wait and see if it works out.

  10. Well from the rumor mill the Mach E is going to be a 4 door Mustang in all but name. It will have Mustang badgeing on it. If anything we won't hear about the refresh till end of next year I have a feeling. Its supposed to get a Hybrid in some fashion and would come after the F-150 and Bronco.

  12. Or you could buy a Tesla S or X and get free supercharging and 50% charge in @20 minutes

  13. Agreed. I finished my garage and have 2 separate 50 amp circuits. I ran one to a 14-50 plug and the other to hang a charger off the ceiling. Technically I used wire large enough to use 60 amp breakers. Remember, that for a continuous load you have to deduct 20%. Thus, a 40 amp breaker can only charge at 32 amps. Level 2 should be totally fine 99% of the time. 40 amps should give you @25 miles per hour. How many miles does one typically drive every day? You are "topping" off every night so actual charging won't be that long.

  16. I don't see them using manual hand crank windows, though I can see that being an option. Even with crank windows there's still going to be power locks and speakers and crash sensors that will need to be disconnected. How does Jeep do it? That's probably similar.

  17. IIRC the 300 mile range batteries are supposed to take around 12 hours (I think) on a level 2 charger. That's not too bad, but if I had the choice, I'd go with a level 3 and cut that charging time down significantly. I guess the other factor to consider with the shorter charging time of a level 3 would be the presumed opportunity to take advantage of the lowest utility rates, which supposedly are somewhere between midnight and 6 am (depending on location). The longer charging time of the level 2 would negate that opportunity (for a full charge).

  18. I know its third hand, but our Principal is REALLY low key and mellow...and he was excited....the Mach E is apparently going to be sold as an MSRP unit with Dealers getting re-imbursed ala A plan style. Fords version of Teslas sales model?...

  22. I would have them run 2 while they are at it. Size the wire for 50 amp just in case, but you can put a 40 amp breaker in.

  24. So they must be excluding the Ranger's 2.3L boosted I4 which is stupid because it has more power than the Ridgeline's 3.5L V6 AND gets better fuel economy.
