  1. Nothing new here. There are some who hate the current Mustang, some who hate the C8 Corvette, some who hate the new iPhone. Mostly they sit in the corner and whine to themselves. Everybody else ignores them.

  2. Even when you take out the profit sharing pull ahead, Ford still had the biggest signing bonus in 2015 ($8,500 vs $8000 from GM).

  3. After the leak on Ranger, security on Bronco images went through the roof, it could well be that Ford runs long on silence , we still have all the UAW contract drama...I can tell you that first prototypes were made back in April, so they're out there.

  4. The problem is that there is a small vocal community that poo poo the upcoming Bronco because its not an exact reproduction of the 1st Gen or even the 1990s Bronco, no matter how good it is..I see it on some of the Bronco facebook pages/message groups. Typical knuckledraggers that want a V8 and manual locking hubs.

  5. You won’t be disappointed, there is a higher starting price but it comes with the engine and drive train that most buyers in this group wants. The $6K premium is also about protecting Escape’s volume selling trims, Ford doesn’t want to simply trade sales away from Escape when Baby Bronco is all about adding premium sales (along with Corsair).

  10. no strike at ford, our contract is already 95% done with a few tweaks from what gm got and we are good to go as i said in previous post, u wont see buyouts except on certain plants, and no 130k, maybe 60k MAYBE. those days are long gone, guess u missed out too ? so sad!, LMAO we will get a good contract similar to GM, and its good!

  11. You and lots of others are gonna be blown away when you see Bronco and realise the respect paid to the original design language. I’m glad it will be revealed soon as GM and Jeep have no idea... The brief on Bronco was that it is a Ford Iconic Vehicle like Mustang so take that as an indication of the reverence and respect being paid to the memory of what Bronco is to Ford and many people.

  12. I would be willing to go on strike IF the company does not do something for the Temps and the lower tiers and I am not one of them. Then I would be making a positive contribution for future UAW workers.Somebody in the past did it for me.Lets be hopeful and wish that its good contract for all and it includes $130,000 buyouts!

  14. I can't remember if the CX430 comes standard with the 2.0L EB, but I know AWD is standard. I seem to remember that the 2.0L EB was standard. But my memory is a little jumbled with the configurations for the Pickup/SUV combo which gets more entry-level specs with a 1.5L and FWD standard. There is a Hybrid version. The Hybrid on the Bronco was postponed indefinitely...but Ranger is going 2.7EB Hybrid by 2023 with the new model so I suspect a later Bronco will get an update for Hybrid. My ultimate impression is that the Bronco Scout is a more premium C-Segment utility unlike the B-Segment grade Renegade and Compass. There isn't that much that competes with it, it certainly has a unique take on the market which I think is encouraging. You can imagine the Bronco won't be that cheap. Either way, I'm sure Ford would love to sell more CX430s than Escapes, but I'm sure the pricing and lifestyle preferences will keep things pretty distinctive.

  15. this is my biggest complaint about the two vehicle strategy. Now, the vehicle the escape should have been all along is now the “premium” vehicle that I’ll have to pay more for. 6k more seems a bit ridiculous too. It better come standard with 4wd and the 2.0 ecoboost and maybe a few other things to justify that kind of price increase.

  16. Not uncommon to read, "gusied up Ford platform" or "pulled from the Fords parts bin to create the Aviator", etc. Yet when they review a Toyota, it's "The excellent TGNA platform from Toyota" when reviewing a Lexus. I've made similar comments on their website blogs, I had one reviewer actually apologize because enough people had "liked" my post he felt like responding. That's all really anyone can do, is help educate.

  17. Totally agree. I've never even considered a Lincoln before, and the funny thing is the whole reason I even LOOKED at a Lincoln was for the stereo!!! Crazy as that sounds, I was sick and tired of listening to my wife complain about the Meridian stereo in her FPace. Being married to a sound engineer she's even more picky than me! So I researched what car stereo STOCK is great, and possibly even better when upgraded. And the first thing that popped up was the Lincoln Revel system! Okay... well let's look at that! So that led us to listening to the Ultima system in an Aviator and we were sold, at least on the reality that you can buy a really good car stereo stock. Next up was actually convincing my wife to test drive a BL Nautilus which was an act of Congress, but it worked and now we're waiting for our lovely car to be built. While we've always been Jag fans, the problems of Jags and LR's are steep. I was super interested in the new I-Pace, but you read the forum problems and there's just no way I'm going to consider that car. It seems like American cars for the most part are more reliable. My ELR is super reliable! I look forward to having all American cars again, Which will be a Lincoln, a Cad and a Dodge Promaster...

  18. The "layered" screens to me looks a tad odd, but I'll wait to see the final look. I did like the Escala interior that this one is inspired by.

  19. That doesn't look half bad. Looks like a decent integration of a main display and secondary infotainment. I could live with that.

  20. Probably not from the factory, but I would have to imagine that there would be an aftermarket option to look at. HRG Like these,,,, http://www.douglasstruckbodies.com/gallery/?type=13&make=16&chassis=17&color=&workready=0&keywords=&unit&pager=1

  21. The Mustang II allowed the Mustang to survive the oil crisis. Maligned as they are...they allowed the nameplate to survive.

  22. Agree with fuzzy that that is the 2-door Bronco. And I really don't think there is going to be much emphasis on speed with the short wheelbase 2-door Bronco. High speed + short wheelbase = bad news.
