  1. I've only owned 5 sedans (4 of them were Ford, Mercury and Lincolns) in my lifetime and never considered another category like coupes or trucks until I turned 50 this year. The day before Thanksgiving I test drove the Explorer ST on 4 different occasions and really fell in love with it. Ten days ago I pulled the trigger on a loaded Rapid Red ST! So far I've driven it 300 miles and it is a joy to drive. The size and height took some getting used to after driving MKZ's for the past 9 years. My only complaints or little nitpicky items are: 1) With all of the high tech features and all LED interior and exterior front lighting, why did they cheap out and use 6 incandescent bulbs in the rear? (turn signals, reverse and license plate lights look a bit out of place like on some Acuras and BMWs with combination LED/incandescent units) 2) On a $60,000 vehicle, all 4 windows should be auto up/down not just the front ones! 3) Some of the interior plastic does feel flimsy for such an expensive truck, especially the glove box release which feels like it may fall off! 4) Again, $60K and no hood struts? 5) Why does this vehicle have mechanical door lock plungers? I haven't owned a car with that old-school type of lock since my 1985 Tempo, every other car either had toggle-type mechanical locks or my 2013 MKZ had a red LED door lock indicator. This is like going backwards with tech. 6) Sync 3 has some lag issues and the most annoying one is the radio presets which can have up to 5 pages but really only works well with 2 pages. If you save 5 pages of SiriusXM channels, the logos disappear every time you restart the vehicle and take a while to reload and reappear on the pages. Sync 3 is a vast improvement over Sync 2 and MyLincoln Touch but sometimes at startup Sync 3 updates and reloading screens take far too long. 7) As cool as the sculpted, scooped out flat middle of the hood looks, when it rains and I park on an incline, it collects water! WTF! This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen! Despite all of these relatively minor complaints, I am very happy with my purchase and this thing is a stunning beast and with Ford Co-Pilot 360, I feel very safe and secure!

  2. No actually, it's because it's tied to stock price and since Ford stock has been in the toilet for forever, we lost it. Read the contract

  3. 5 of my co workers were let out Jan 15th 2016 from last round, they were given 3 different choices they all took the earliest. They were all in trim. They can let me go in Jan, nothing stopping them they don't need me, keeping me will not solve their poor management issues. Hire 2 temps in my place, see I just did all the hard thinking for them. Hell it's almost tempting to leave and come back as a temp, they got it made.

  4. The entire marketing focus is on clearing out the remaining 2019's. Once the 2019 Escape inventory is low enough you'll start to see increased incentives on the new 2020's. It's like this on all the vehicles when they're transitioning to the new models. It also9 allows Ford to maximize the profits on the early 2020MY sales.

  5. Ford isn't the only one to raise prices and de-content.

  6. Sure, with a $12K+ discount. Can get a fancier Equinox around here right now with $14K off. Those Escape discounts will be flying come this time next year, maybe sooner.

  8. OK, Why is this thing that looks like a cub scouts carved car called a truck ? If I'm hauling 4x8 plywood or drywall where would I put it. Is it a truck because of big tires? I can put big ass tires on my Mustag doesn't mean it's a truck, because it can tow? so can my Mustang who gives a shit. You want an electric truck fine, make it a truck first, until then piss off I feel so much better now.

  11. Sit back and enjoy the upcoming 8 paid holidays your union negotiated for us and wait until all the details are worked out.GM is a different company with different needs.I think its all about manpower requirements.I cant believe it when the contract says ALL production personnel will be eligible for a retirement incentive or severance pay if they chose to leave."ALL"?Who`s gonna be left?Fatso? The trades? You wanna hear some screaming and hollering?Wouldnt that be a bitch if hidden in the small print of the contract was allowing the company to assign production work to members of the trades.Quality would take a hit, thats for sure.If thats the case I would make em hafta fire my fat ass.

  14. Not trying to be an asshole but I am sick of this excuse. And that goes for any manufacturer. Ford has the ability to choose their supplier and quality of parts. Ultimately, the blame is on the manufacturer regardless of whether it’s an engineering or supplier issue. The supplier name is not plastered on the final product.

  15. decontenting will only save trivial amounts...going to take new, cheaper lineups...ie the baby truck being released. This subject mirrors what I have said all along...you cant just continually raise pricing and rave about ATPs, the higher the price of a vehicle the smaller the market and the bigger the dependence on leasing programs, leaving out some frivolous features and saving maybe $1000 from MSRP wont solve this issue. So, it will come down to what features are deemed necessary in a more basic lineup...Ill be curious how this pans out...

  16. Well from what I see only me and a few others ever read the damn things anyway. What they should do is make the pdf accessible from the main display screen and update it via sync updates. I think some luxury mfrs do this already.

  17. I wonder if Ford is looking to decontent vehicles but leave the price the same? i recall the grizzle inside Ford about how much cost copilot 360 was adding to vehicles as a standard feature
