  2. I find there to be a HUGE overlap between this 2-door mafia and people who only buy used cars. Funny how that works.

  5. I've never understood why that's so hard to figure out - pick a launch date closer to shows and work backward from there. I've been resisting commenting on this, but I can't help myself anymore lol - Why do you even bother posting about Bronco? You clearly hate everything about it and won't get one, so why bother?

  6. Fifteen recalls on our 2013 Fusion plus 6 different visits for warranty repair outside of those. We are very familiar with Tracy & Kelly at our local Ford dealer. They're a very good Ford service dept as well.

  7. Purchasing freedom? You mean having only one dealer and one price to choose from nationwide?

  8. I see so many Continentals and Navigator black vehicles, it's unreal. I probably see more MKX/Nautilus than anything though for personal vehicles. I work downtown Chicago.

  9. I fully supported tesla in direct to consumer sales....if you do not want to deal with dealers or sales antics you should have the freedom to buy directly...this is a good win for consumers...detroit needs to get out of 1950's mentality but i am afraid its never going to happen....

  12. Just because they’re advertising them that way doesn’t necessarily mean people are buying them.

  14. It's not that simple. If you saw the amount of work that still needs to be done just in body shop alone, you would understand why we aren't going to start building the earliest builds for another 6 months at least. Literally half of the building is still empty despite all of the stuff they installed over the Christmas break. You also don't really want to show it off after those builds start because that's how leaks happen.

  15. I chuckle when I park in our office parking garage - there's a a MKC, Nautilus, and Navigator that park next to each other daily. That's easily the most Lincolns I see together other than at the dealership, locally.

  16. ^ Yep. Of course, if we get involved in a Middle East war and the stock market crashes as a result anyone with a pension, stock, bonds, or money in the bank is screwed as well. And if a general war breaks out between the U.S, Russia and China the nukes will fly and none of this will matter anyway. Have a nice day.

  17. They should partner with themselves in Europe or China...Ford has a great Class 8 line in those areas of the world.

  18. PD said that a Bronco Truck based on the actual Bronco was being talked about but as of (I think) Labor Day hadn't gotten the green light yet. As far as I'm aware it's still a rumor.

  19. Actually I think its both-The Bronco pickup (basically a bed behind the C pillar) and there is also a smaller C class pickup that is going to be built in the same plant as the Baby Bronco and Transit Connect. There's been rumors of it being associated with the Bronco branding (like it would have the front end of the Baby Bronco?), but nothing concrete yet.

  21. It was suggested by another member here who is pretty well connected that it would be May, but either is believable. I kinda tend to doubt it would be New York for a couple reasons: 1. NYIAS has been recently used as a showcase for Lincoln. The Ford brand hasn't debuted much there for a while 2. May is a month closer to when they actually start being built, and there's a greater effort within the company to close the gap in the amount of time between reveal and SOP. 3. New York City really isn't a truck market. Doesn't make sense to debut a truck there.

  22. I see a TON of Navigators and Nautilii/MKXs. I see a lot of MKCs and MKZs - saw my first Corsair last week. I see some Conti's here and there. I've seen a few Aviators appearing, and the sightings have increased, which obviously match sales numbers.

  23. I live in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC, and like you see a fair number of Navigators. But I also see MKZs, a few Continentals, a goodly number of current generation (but pre-Nautilus) MKXs, a smattering of older MKXs and current Nautiluses, and a few MKCs. I haven't noticed any Aviators in the wild yet, though that is also my dealer's current top seller, nor any Corsairs (my dealer's #2 seller). Oh, and quite a few venerable Towncars as well, usually well-maintained. I see a more Acuras, Lexuses, MBs, BMWs, and Volvos than Lincolns or Cadillacs (and more Caddies than Lincolns), but I do see them out and about. The Washington metro area, with 6 of the top 10 wealthiest counties in the U.S. (a startling stat worthy of a different discussion), has an affinity for foreign brands. Just give it time. Corsairs have only been on sale a couple months, Aviators a few months longer (but with supplies restricted initially do the the rocky launch). The Nautilus has been selling for a little over a year, but is still much outnumbered by MKXs on the road.

  24. I've never heard of any hassles with Ford factory warranties for things that are obviously defective. The only issue is with some dealers who don't want to go above and beyond on a less than obvious problem but that doesn't happen a lot.

  25. Tesla has been dealing with smear campaigns in all types of media since the company was founded. They have grown to be the largest electric automaker in the world (just surpassed BYD in 2019) despite all the smears thus far, and show no signs of losing their lead. Roger Pressman from Evannex mentioned some defense strategies that Tesla can use against smear campaigns. https://evannex.com/blogs/news/tesla-and-the-smear

  32. Add to that $11 billion sucked out of existing product development to go chase EVs AVs and connectivity, add another $11 billion to reform Europe and ROW products Ford is still clinging to F Series paying for everything else that barely covers its own replacement cost.

  33. They sure do like to shoot themselves in the foot with these obnoxiously long product cycles, don't they?

  34. You think the power grid is bad now? just wait... not only do you have Increasing demand from EV’s but you also have jurisdictions banning natural gas from being put into new homes and buildings. Creating greater reliance on electrical power. Cluster *uck is coming.
