  1. Tesla a luxury car?? I thought it was the horse and buggy coming back...go a few miles, stop for the night, go a few miles, stop for the night.... I ended my Motor Trend subscription when they made it car of the year, they couldn't even go from Los Angeles to Las Vegas without stopping for hours to recharge. And don't even get me started on the environmental hazards processing the lithium and manufacturing the batteries.

  2. From what I'm seeing in available inventory, you can get the 2.0 4-cyl in an SEL, so if I had to buy a 2020 today, I'd look at that. HRG

  3. Yes, from what I can tell, if your neighbor wears Birkenstocks, and looks like a Seattle Jesus, they're running for the Prius (or Subaru) dealership and Lincolns come with a cloak of invisibility - they just can't even see them in their sensor range. And Portland is becoming more like Seattle everyday with homeless people camping any and everywhere they please to so probably why there's only one BL dealer in Oregon.... I used to live smack right in the middle of Portland where on my short street, there were 9 Priuses...?. I don't think any of these people won the high school most individual award.

  4. We had a 2020 3-cylinder Escape as a loaner for about 3 weeks, my wife & daughter definitely like the 1.5 4-cylinder in her 2018 better. HRG

  5. They also tried to help dealers sell used cars by advertising them on the internet, then sending the vehicle to the nearest dealer to test drive and complete the transaction. Dealers sued, even though they were getting the sales. They won.

  7. I think it's more of a cult following then anything else. Owners would be hesitant to complain about their ownership experiences.

  8. It's because you think your opinions are worth gold, and they're not. You're annoying on purpose probably 40% of the time. It's like I have said before, you are really brave when you're hiding behind a screen. If you had to do it in person you'd get a beer in your face or a fist in your nose. You troll too much. Snooter problem is he posts jibberish and nonsense ON PURPOSE. He's proven on more than one occasion that he can post-rational stuff when he wants to. I can assure you no one thinks his posting "Heep" 150 times is witty. You don't want to get crap for stupid stuff, stop doing/ saying stupid stuff! It's not that hard! There's no law that says people can't tell you where to go when they are tired of your nonsense. It's the old joke "Doc, it hurts when I do this!" "Then stop doing that!"

  9. You forget competition. Nothing is stopping ford from raising prices right now, not even franchises. Now if they raise prices above perceived market value, they're going to lose sales to other brands. The market is capable of correcting itself, it doesn't always need more regulation.

  10. Purchasing freedom? You mean having only one dealer and one price to choose from nationwide?

  11. Quite frankly, I don't care if you don't like my opinions, but at least i try not to post random jabs at other members. It's kind of off-putting the way some of you gang up on snooter and others, just because you don't like what ww have to say. Yall are way too old to be acting like high schoolers.

  12. I'm currently driving a 2020 Ford Escape SEL with the 1.5L EcoBoost. It seems to be a nice car overall, but the engine noise is really worrisome. I'm used to DOHC 4 cylinder engines, especially the 2.0L EcoBoost in my wife's Fusion being rather smooth. Yes, it's a 4 cylinder, so it isn't V-6 smooth, but still unobtrusive. This 1.5L engine just GROANS all the time. The engine noise is rough and not pleasing at all. I know its a subjective question, but is this typical of the 1.5L engine in the Escape now? Anyone else have experience with it? Thanks, I'll hang up and listen

  13. Good to see its back on track! Next step after origin recieved/in production was released/awaiting shipment with new eta's for mine. Of course that was back on Dec 28 and now it's not due until the first week of Feb... but I've heard eta's and shipments are finally ramping up!

  14. Not to get off topic, but finding 14" or 15" tires is getting difficult. When I was shopping for my Torino, there were only two or three choices for 295/50-15. I chose Cooper Cobra because of my experience with them. I think Cooper & a Chinese brand were all that were available in 205/70-14 for my Ranger. It has Cooper's as well. You can get reproduction tires, but who wants to spend that kind of coin for something that's driven regularly?:

  15. Oh, I know....I actually have a set of Firestone Winterforce II snows on the Lincoln...great traction. Would love to get a set of Firestone RWL tires for my '83 Mustang GLX, but alas..they ain't available in 225/60R15...

  16. Bridgestone IS Firestone (or the other way aroound).

  17. Not going to disagree with you on the lighting, but all that chrome on that gigantic grill was just too much. My '04 has a charcoal grill with a chome surround. It's an XLT and IIRC, the Lariat had the same grill. Speaking of lighting...somebody needs to talk to GM about their '20 models. OMG...talk about being blinded by the light. It's like they project right into your eyes on a two lane. I've noticed this several times with different trucks. If it blinds me in my tractor trailer; what about the poor schmuck in a Mustang?

  19. Hi scottfmcc sir, your experience is matched by many others. I test drove a 3-cylinder 2020 Escape SE recently and experienced the same thing. Rough, obnoxious engine NVH (groaning) at almost all times the driver's foot touches the accelerator pedal. In its 2020 Escape review, Consumer Reports actually recommended avoiding the 3-cylinder version because its engine noise and vibration are so annoying. Hybrid or PHEV is the way to go if you like the 2020 Escape otherwise.

  23. If that's close I could easily see me trading in our 2015 Escape for something like that, assuming towing is 3500 Lbs or better.

  24. A couple things don't make sense - why here? Wouldn't a buyer of this want a regular opening sunroof? On a Mustang where it's coupe or convertible only, it makes sense, as you could have a glass roof again on the coupe. Also, you can see the regular black surround on the windshield, so it doesn't look like that's here. Though it does look like something's going on there. That looks pretty good, and probably isn't far off

  25. I think that one just has a black roof or it has some Camo there. It looks to be starting at the same spot the white does in the pic below. Also found this render today. I hadn’t seen it yet, but I think it looks pretty cool.

  26. Of course, Tesla is not a luxury car. At least, not all Teslas are luxury cars. Maybe, only maybe, the Model S is a luxury car for the size and amenities. But de Model 3 definitly is not a luxury car. Are Teslas expensives? Yes! But a high price dont classify a vehicle as a luxury vehicle. Take, for example, the F-350 Super Duty Dually in a high trim form. The price of this truck is near the 80000$. Is the F-350 truck a luxury vehicle? Answer that question and you can understand why Teslas ( all Teslas...) are not luxury cars. And is completly stupid to say that the Tesla Model 3 compete with BMW 3 series... The luxury doesnt come with the price, come with the brand heritage, quality, materials, amenities and equipment.

  27. What “power” does a Tesla buyer have? Zero. Here is a Tesla - take it or leave it. Dealers don’t have any power - they’re just hard to deal with in some instances. At least you can go to a different dealer if one is bad.

  28. I'm doing this exact thing ... if you beat me to it please post a pic. Mine is supposed to show up mid to late February. Did you order the black rims?

  29. Ford sets wholesale prices but dealers set the retail price not Ford. Tesla sets both the wholesale and retail prices and there is no competition between independent dealers. It would be like a Ford requiring all dealers to sell at MSRP. I hate franchise laws and I’m not saying franchise laws protect the consumer. I’m saying the Tesla sales model is the OPPOSITE of purchasing freedom. If you want a Tesla there is only one source and one price.

  30. Rude?? Not at all, just my experience. Looking forward to my new ride and will post a photo for sure. I'm going to tint the side windows and see what the grill looks like and the cargo rack because I'm thinking of doing a black wrap on them but need to see what it looks like first.

  31. I too was very surprised with the dealers in my area, the dealer that I did the test drive at seemed not very interested in wanting to even return my call when I was ready to order. The second dealer I took my wife to just to check out the Navigator and ended up making an appointment a few days later to order and go through the negotiating process. I honestly did not feel like it was gonna go well after talking briefly to the manager. He pretty much didn't give me the time of day and that's fine. Anyways on my way to the appointment the third dealer called me which was the AAA guy and I told him I was 10 minutes away from the dealer to order my truck and if he would give it to me for 1 thousand over invoice I'd turn around and go to him. He says he would do it and that's where I went with no hassle and super easy. After signing the papers the other dealer calls and says he would do it for 500 over invoice because they wanted my business. Should of shown some interest in helping me when we were there in person. Haha I'm very happy with the one thousand over invoice and no haggling. Navigator is in production now which was the 9th, so hopefully another couple weeks it shows up. Glad I ordered it because I'm getting exactly what I want.

  42. Yes sir, I've been in a 2019 Chevy Equinox for one of my recent Lyft trips. The instrument cluster looked fine to me. Nothing particularly fancy, though it did have some bright accents and illuminated rings to jazz things up a little. It was quite different from instrument clusters for similar 1990s GM vehicles. 2019 Chevy Equinox instrument cluster. 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer instrument cluster.
