  1. Mine has the premium package. The tires and wheels with the panoramic roof really spice it up.

  2. Decided to post a review of my new 2020 Escape SE Sport Hybrid after reading all the negative posts on here about its looks and interior quality. A few weeks ago turned in a leased 2017 Subaru Crosstrek Limited after 42 months of driving. Loved the vehicle, but really fell hard for the Escape Hybrid after local Ford dealer let me test drive a Titanium hybrid for 24 hours. Ordered a Velocity Blue SE as the Titanium model was more than I wanted to spend. A few days later Ford closed their plants. So after a couple weeks kept looking at this white tricoat metallic SE hybrid with the premium package. Not a fan of white, but the sparkly white with the black roof, grill, lower cladding, and 19 inch Bridgestones with gorgeous alloy wheels really looked super sharp. So I bought it and got the 72 month 0% loan. Better than the $3500 in rebates. My Grades which greatly differ with many posters; Exterior Styling A Paint Job A Fit and finish. B Front seat comfort A Back seat comfort B Steering wheel B Stalks quality C Arm rest and center console A Instrument display A Infotainment system A Infotainment display. A Dashboard feel B Center stack switch gear B Upper door card quality B Lower door card quality C Stereo sound B Rotary dial quality A Fuel efficiency A Ride and handling B+ Road Noise A Engine/electric seamlessness A Acceleration/passing power B Cargo space B Panoramic sun roof A Quibbles: Miss the fog lights, side mirror turn signals, auto dimming mirror with compass on mirror. Other than that, this Escape is significantly better than the 2017 Crosstrek in just about every way. Also better than a brand new Equinox I drove as a rental for a couple weeks recently. Checked out a new Rav 4 hybrid before I bought this Escape and not being able to fill its gas tank adequately scared me off plus Toyotas knife edge styling. Overall, I give the 2020 Escape an A. Only unknown is reliability. Time will tell. The hybrid, especially the SE is the sweet spot, and the SEL with 2.0 is certainly worth a look. With $3500 being the average rebate it seems, every trim level offers potential value.

  3. My wife and I officially rejoined the Lincoln family of vehicles today. We acquired a Ceramic Pearl 2020 Navigator Reserve 4x4 (monochromatic package and luxury package included). Drove it home today, washed it and put a coat of wax on. I’m ready to get out on a road trip!

  4. When you press the start button, there is no sound at all other than a green message on display saying Ready. Put it in gear and again no sound other than ghostly sound warning pedestrians that you are moving. Drive down a residential street, and you will be in electric mode almost all the time up to a mile or so. Still haven't used a drop of gas and no emissions. Turn onto a faster thru way and still mostly in electric mode. Instrument display does great job of telling you what mode you are in and how many kw's you are using. Turn onto a major street and you still be in electric mode most of way. When you come to full stop, display will tell how much energy you captured. For us, most daily round trips are 10-20 miles, and when you press the stop button, display will tell you time and length of trip, fuel mileage and how many miles in electric. Most trips are in 60 to 70 percent electric and 45-60mpg range. Pretty impressive. For example, we have gone 200 miles on this 14 gallon tank so far, and still have 500 miles to empty according to fuel gauge and 3 quarter's of tank left. With Crosstrek, lucky to get 400 miles out of 16.9 gallon tank. Crosstrek did better on freeway getting about 32mpg most of time. In town about 25mpg. Escape gets over 45mpg in city driving. No comparison. Gas station is rare occurence in this vehicle. My wife used to have a Rav 4 and couldn't stand the buzzy 4 cylinder, tire noise even on new tires, and fuel mileage was not as good as Crosstrek. She loves this new Escape having been a Toyota fan for decades. Rav 4 had 13+ recalls in it's time with us. Crosstrek had 1 and my Taurus had 1 in 15 years. My Porsche cost me $3,000 for a new IMS bearing/clutch just to sell it. So I would certainly recommend Escape Hybrid to anyone interested. I've read a little bit about a control module issue and going into limp mode which is concerning. So far no problem so far. Keepin my fingers crossed. The Crosstrek was problem free other than brake light harness recall.

  5. Yeah, I hate rock chips and my 2017 Fusion Sport is plastered with chips. I plan to do PPF on the entire front clip/hood/fenders/mirrors/lower sides. I will post up pics after the install.

  6. Honestly, I don’t even know why they offer the SE. the hybrid is only about $1,000 more, and you get better engine, better wheels, and better instrument panel. The digital IP makes you feel like you are driving a much more expensive vehicle, so it’s easier to over look some of the escapes lesser qualities in the interior. The black wheels help the exterior look a bit more sporty, and it sounds like the hybrid drivetrain fixes my biggest complaint (besides it’s looks) of all the noise and vibration from the 3 cyl. for “bang for your buck”, the sport hybrid trim on the escape is probably one of ford’s best values.

  7. No, paint guy. The plug-in is not out yet. This is just the hybrid. Living in central Florida the last three years, the year around temp is perfect for hybrid batteries. A hard freeze is rare event here. Even in January, the average high is 71 degrees. No hard freeze this winter. Hybrid battery should live longer than me.

  8. I used Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax for this initial coat. It was a “quick” hand wax as I am having paint protection film installed as soon as possible.

  10. Chevy hasn't had a Suburban 3/4 ton since 2013. I don't think that there's enough of a market for heavy duty full-size SUVs to have a separate model or even just a variant of the Expedition. I think that Ford is either just protecting the trademark or is going to use it on a EV SUV.

  11. I wonder if a return to a Super Duty based Excursion is as easy as using the Expedition Max body on the Super Duty chassis. If that's the case, then maybe the Expedition Max gives way to a new Excursion, something beyond CAFE's GWR. Give buyers a 6.7 Powerstroke diesel or 7.3 Godzilla, charge plenty for it and not look back

  13. Going back to the election of 2016-there was a full on expectation of recession hitting afterwards at the time...that didn't materialize til just now. The big unknown is what is going to be the lingering effects of this shutdown is going to be. We might be in a full recovery this time next year. Which would be very good for Ford because of the Bronco, Bronco Sport and F-150 all should be on the lots waiting to be bought.

  14. Maybe they should just put it on the spare tire cover like they used to. FWIW, that Bronco looks almost exactly like the '84 my folks ordered brand new, except ours had a black tire cover. I know it really confused me when they brought it home. I was all like, "why did you bring home a Mustang? I thought you ordered a Bronco..." </sarcasm> <-- for the sarcasm-impaired.

  15. dodged a bullet for sure-when you look at those aerials -Structure looks intact but that was about it. May not have been too much water with that storm as well. In any case great effort. Maybe Hinrichs had some good people working for him?

  16. I'd rather not see it in the grille, but that's for heritage reasons. I wouldn't mind it as a fender badge, and/or on one side of the swing gate.

  17. Use Ranchero. Sounds better.
