  1. An Escort? No, I would say she was the guilty party! ?

  2. As you may have heard me mention a time or two (or ten), the leased Cruze my wife brought into our relationship was the only blemish on an otherwise perfect woman. The *long* lease term is finally up next month, and we took advantage of a weak market to upgrade her last night. A close cousin of mine is Sr. G.M. for a family owned chain of 15 dealerships around central Ohio, and his office is based in the brand-new Ford spec building a few miles up the road from home. Last night, we brought home a very gently used 4WD Explorer XLT in Magnetic with black leather interior and seemingly every option box checked save for the Pano roof. She couldn't be happier, and neither could I. She really warmed up to driving my Flex over the last couple years, but likes the higher seating position and "more nimble" feel of the Explorer. I finally traded in my '08 Fusion that's been a glorified driveway decoration since I got the Flex, and with a small down payment we are paying considerably *less* than she was for that awful leased shitbox Cruze. Interestingly, as we were finalizing the numbers he told me that the Ford lot has been absolutely swamped with new car sales in the last 2 weeks. They're working under minimized staffing due to the "Safer at Home" rules, but each of the sales associates are juggling 2 or 3 deals at a time most evenings. In the last 30 days, this one lot alone is down by 145 inventory units. He's been told not to expect significant deliveries to begin for another 6 to 8 weeks at least.

  3. I have a feeling we will see the Bronco in the next two weeks. Things where cocked back in mid March before COVID took over.

  4. We do and we don’t. To be honest those leaked photos didn’t have finished trim on them and didn’t look that great. The ones at the unveiling will have their full jewelry on and tops removed and stuff. it’s just like the jack wagons saying it looks just like a Flex...

  5. Yeah, I really think Ford needs to at least reveal the new F-150 and Bronco Sport sometime in June before vacation season. As for the Bronco, I could somewhat see Ford waiting a few months since it won't be at dealers until next year. Maybe even longer if virus goes crazy again. Look at European countries to see how reopening is working out since they are a few weeks ahead.of us. Also China and South Korea. Problematic outlook. Seems to me CAP, MAP, and DTP are in hot spots still.

  6. Bronco without roof poof! She looks sharp...almost Flex like https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/spied-2021-bronco-4-door-shows-off-its-roofline-as-it-drops-heavy-camo.1314/

  7. No, but Ford has said soon without any definite date. I imagine they want to make sure the production line is ready before committing. I hear they are still getting the assembly line equipment in place in the Cuautitlan plant. Europe is getting a priority on 2020 deliveries. Since my reservation was later, 02/01/2020, I do not expect delivery until 2021. Since your reservation was much earlier than mine it might be possible to get a 2020 delivery? No communications from the dealer yet.

  8. There are about 50,000 of us who have already built our Mach E since Nov 2019 and have put down our $500 reservation deposit just waiting for Ford to start production in a few months. The actual order will take place soon when Ford opens up the order process. The reservation reserves you a spot in the line. Unless there are reservation dropouts, the first years production of 50,000 units are sold (or at least reserved) out. And the GT model will leave the Shelby Cobra drivers looking at taillights on a 0-60 run! At this point options seem to limited to choosing one of 3 trim models, FWD/AWD, and Std range vs Ext range battery size. I am guessing they are limiting options so they can make money from Day 1. I can't wait for my Premium, AWD, Extended Range.

  9. Her family is mainly "Jeep people" but they fell in love with the Flex the second I bought it. As of today, my wife has an Explorer, her brother is shopping an Edge (from my cousin), and her parents are considering replacing their Cherokee with an Escape.

  10. I know about the 'bringing a GM into the marriage' thing. My wife brought a 1996 Cavalier into our marriage back in '98. Her next vehicle was a 2003 Escape, and that was all it took to convert that Chevy girl to a Ford woman. Nothing but Fords (and a Mercury) have been in our garage since. Her mom now drives Fords too. I'm sure my Chevy-loving father-in-law is still shaking his head as he looks down on us from above. ?

  14. I agree...since Flex went away, Chrysler now has the other two beat.

  15. We've had rain for the last 10 days or so. The little bridge over the Licking River to get into our corner of the neighborhood was washed over with a few inches of water for the last few days.

  16. The both have the 3.5 / 6A ? I'm convinced to her, "nimble" means the corner lean from the increased height. She is *not* a car person. Asked me to pick something for her and tell her where to sign.

  18. No Southfield and Enterprise, that's where the climate / drivability building is at along with Roush, Pilot is down at 94/Oakwood - which is the old Edsel Headquarters then on Enterprise north of Oakwood is the Allen Park test building.

  19. Toyota fan boys are very strange. They love and buy Toyota because they despise American designed and built trucks, then they spin to brag that somehow a Toyota is an American truck. The simple fact is: America was not built on the backs of foreign trucks.
