  1. The First Edition Edition? When did they announce that? Is it more exclusive than the regular First Edition?

  2. Maverick is a Ford, not a Bronco. Definitively.

  3. Sure it leaked...there are holes where the handle and blue oval badge go!

  6. If this has been posted/discussed already, I apologize. Embedded in the linked article is this: I missed all of this - has it been under discussion somewhere on the forum? Conceivably, this Ranger development means an EV Bronco could be possible (as a response to Hummer, if Ford were so inclined. Seems silly right now when Ford will be challenged to build the Bronco to meet demand, but in the future,... ?). https://www.eenews.net/stories/1063366651

  7. Maverick will be here soon. No Bronco-branded products beyond the 3* that we've seen are coming in the short- or mid-range future. ?

  8. There are electric versions planned of almost every vehicle Ford makes, world governments are demanding the adoption of it. Hybrid and electric versions of the Ranger and Bronco are under development. The Ranger, Bronco & Everest will need the powertrain in coming years to be sold in certain States and Countries in the future.

  9. Lots of technical detail here...it has 7 motors! https://insideevs.com/news/434916/ford-debut-mustang-mach-e-1400/ While they don't list range, they said it can be run hard for about an hour and then be recharged to 80% after an hour on the charger.

  10. Haven't been this excited for a vehicle in a long time; so I went ahead and reserved one; I'm thinking a 2-door Outer Banks in Area 51.

  11. You get to pick your dealer and change it later without losing your reservation, per Ford.

  13. Yes I should save over reserved, at least that was discussions to suppliers. Ford is still trying to figure out how many will transfer into orders if it’s 100% (which it won’t be) that would be projected volume for the first year. Also getting into some discussion on how the launch sequence will go to make sure this launch goes as flawless as possible. While making every effort to make sure people with first edition orders get those units first. Ford knows it’s not going to make everyone happy but is going to do the best it can. As of now they are apparently going to try and build in the order sequence for reservation holders. Still a lot of TBD on how allocation is going to be figured as state franchise agreements all play into that as well.

  14. The 6.7L Powerstroke diesel is internally referred to as the Scorpion due to the reverse flow heads where the exhaust comes out the top of the motor and into the turbos that are set in the valley where the intake manifold would normally sit.

  15. 392 Wrangler is not solely a concept and I hear 6/2021. After 4 years in production, JL wrangler gets a midlife refresh for 2022 next summer. Next-gen is probably 2026, but with covid-19 anything is possible. BTW, found this online on another forum. Seems a bit old, but really credible. Source says it's from 2016, but it predicts accurately. Plus Bronco stuff

  16. The 401, 477 and 534 were mid range truck gas engines/ class 5, 6, 7. I can’t remember if they stretched into class 8. (Tandem drive axle) They have nothing in common with any other Automotive ford/Lincoln engine family except the combustion chamber in the cylinder block like the Lincoln MEL and the Chevy 348/409/427. (flat cylinder heads like the MEL) I would guess the bore centers on these giant gas engines is around 5.25” They were also used in large lake boats! They came out about the same time as the Lincoln MEL series 4.90” bore centers replaced the Lincoln Y block, 4.63” bore center - same as the FE series bore centers! (352/390/406/410/427/428/332/360) When I worked for the city of dearborn a teenager, most of our large trucks were 477’s. Edselford

HISTORICAL a member of any of the bands of English workers who destroyed machinery, especially in cotton and woolen mills, that they believed was threatening their jobs (1811–16). 19. I think the fact that it will have a giant blue oval versus a little one on the side is also a giveaway that it won't be in the Bronco "brand" Edit: Annnnnd RMC beat me to it.

  20. The emphasis on the Ford oval makes that clear ("Bronco" models put BRONCO front and center).

  23. What we do know: We are getting an electric F-150 and Transit in the next 24 months With that said, I wouldn't expect a BEV Ranger or Bronco for at least another 36-48 months. The NG Ranger should be out in 18 or so months (heard it might have been delayed a bit due to COVID) and the Bronco would be due for a MCE or something around that time. Adding a BEV would be a great idea at that time. Since the Warthog will most likely come out in late 2021 or so as a 2022 MY to keep interest in the Bronco lineup.

  26. That and hitching their wagon to a $5.9 billion low interest DOE loan that stipulated that funding had to be used on specific approvedf fuelefficiency projects. Focus was one of thirteen plants that benefited from funding. Without that Funding, I doubt that Focus would have continued at Wayne/MAP, maybe Mexico with Fiesta.

  27. It's going to be the opposite here since there's no doubt we will build way more Broncos than Rangers.

  28. At the moment it was correct with gas prices. just look at what happened four years ago in the US-full on expectations of the economy going to pieces after the elections. It took a global pandemic to derail it finally four years later.

  29. Oh no, I’m not that big of high roller?. I reserved an Outer Banks. It’s the best fit at the time of ordering for me, but I hope there is some wiggle room just in case I like something better or the pricing is different than I thought.

  30. This is one I would like to have the first model year of because I intend to keep it for a while and it will be kind of cool to have the first year the Bronco re-emerged. I also have faith that MAP will build it correctly out of the gate.

  32. which if so, will screw up allocation....it would be hilarious if half of So Cals Bronco production came to us...lol...we have a couple of dealers close to us notorious for bait , switch and whatever else they can do in the relentless pursuit of profit...and in a BAD way...going to think it may be why we got so many reservations.....

  33. I know for me, it's already looking like Velocity Blue is a late availability option, so I'm wondering if I'll be one of those ones toward the end of the model year by that point. Honestly, if that happens and they add A/C seats for 2022, I wouldn't even be mad ? ?

  34. hate to say this, but you may/ may not be able to change your reservation if the Edition you finalize is also sold out...First Edition was gone first dat...Wildtrak is now no longer avail...and that will continue if I had to guess...

  35. My pops just ordered a Continental Reserve AWD with the 3.0L in Burgundy Velvet with Cappuccino interior. Will be one of the last ones off the line. He decided he needed an American Luxury sedan to go with his stable of mustangs and trucks. Put the order in Friday and was told it was already pulled for scheduling.

  36. Kudos to Lincoln. The Aviator design is on-point--interior and exterior. It is well-deserving of the recognition. That said, I think the Corsair should have garnered at least an honorable mention. What Lincoln managed to do with a much smaller palette at a much lower price point is just as impressive. On the other hand, the monochromatic Corvette interior looks sadly like a Revell model car I would have made in my childhood: I would spray paint the interior all one color because I didn't have the skill (or extra colors) to paint the interior correctly. And didn't the Merc GLB steal the LED strips idea from a Chrysler 200?

  37. It’d be so cool if they unveiled three Raptors at once (F150, Ranger, Bronco).

  38. They need a baby Sasquatch package for the sport. If they could fit some 32’s on it, I think it’d look pretty cool.

  39. Ford desperately needs a good launch with Bronco, I just hope the occasion doesn't pressure them into going too fast at the start, they need slower line speeds until everyone and everything clicks into gear. That's why it's hard to estimate production in early months, much easier when they're set and ramping up.

  40. While not asking you specifics on Bronco manufacturing, can you please share how super Saturdays work, Would Rangers still be built along with Broncos, or do they just build Bronco exclusively on those days? Or does a change like that completely screw up line speed and timing of workers and parts?

So, by going to your confirmation and pulling the image location, you can swap INT / EXT and numbers around to pull associated images. On that note, here's the Big Bend 4dr interior...

  44. The chutzpah Mike brought to the whole Ford truck division is a huge part of why we're seeing such great marketing - and great products - today.

  45. Ford will do what they often do. They'll run a branding spot for the Mustang Mach-E, prospective customers that didn't know about it beforehand will go to see the new model at dealerships, see none in stock, find out how few will be available, object to some Dealer's pricing and walk away, or be an impulse buyer and buy/lease at any price. The branding campaign will run until the vehicles are on the way to dealers and then Ford will pull the campaign and rely on word-of-mouth and interest generated when the Mustang Mach-E is out on the road. Ford will make a splash with the campaign initially and then they'll pull it and turn to something else. Ford won't spend a penny more on marketing the Mustang Mach-E than they have to.

  46. The showing off of the PIU was to try to keep LEO interested and not having them defect to Dodge-but the jacked up launch screwed that all up, witness the first 2020 PIU units not showing up til 2020 CY.

  47. The plant was a big issue because they had no space to do pilot builds, they jumped straight to production volume before the plant was fully sorted, Trans cooler problem should have been identified in validation or pre production builds. Lots of Bronco development was done in Australian outback as well as North America away from prying eyes. The platform is a heavy evolution of the existing platform with lots of upgrades, so very much a known quantity, the CD6 Explorer was complete my new platform vehicle, so needs a lot more care that everything is going right.
