  1. Too much political BS involved with exporting from Turkey these days, that's why it was moved 5 years ago.

  2. Problem is wherever they go, they turn it into California: v2, v3, v4...you get the picture. Note to Californians and New Yorkers: When you leave your congested traffic, insanely high taxes, sanctuary cities, open borders, safe injection sites, free range homeless 'camping', and ridiculous, invasive strangling rules/regulations for a better place, PLEASE remember why you left when voting in your new state.

  3. Ford Offered to Rescue That Jeep Wrangler Stuck on a Bike Trail By now, you might think the story of the most famous stuck Jeep Wrangler in the world is complete after last night's daring recovery operation pulled it back from the brink. But no. This one's got some layers, folks. We've now confirmed that the Ford Motor Company wanted to mount a rescue effort and document it for potential use in a video that probably wouldn't please Jeep—gee, wonder why.

  4. It is if that's all Ford can pull for MME, remember that MME was a rescue plan for an off course C-Max BEV and that Ford has moved on with BEV design. MME sucked up a lot of time and resources, I think that Ford was so far into developing the BEV C-Max that it just couldn't just walk away. They've tried very hard to conjure a win out of this that it's now about recovering costs and experience building BEVs before the main game starts, Ford talks a good game with BEVs but nothing apart from MME coming for a few years.

  6. The 6.7PS is a $8455 option over the 7.3Gas. You can buy a lot of gas for $8455 plus the money you save on maintenance.

  7. Yeah, I’d like to see the bronco sport grow about 6”. Then they could replace the Ecosport with a vehicle that’s similar to the bronco sport but smaller, and then the puma for those who like a sportier style.

  9. Picked up my first diesel Saturday. 2019 F350 xlt CCLB, Ingot silver, only got to drive it home from the dealership I purchased it from(200km). Had to leave town for work for a couple weeks. Really enjoyed the drive. Coming from a 2011 F250 xlt CCSB with the 6.2L. It was a fantastic truck but it was time to upgrade, can’t wait to tow the fifth wheel next camping season.

  10. How? Range Rover uses more squared off styling/roofline, Aviator has more flowing lines and roofline.

  11. I think things are getting looked into too much here. what it boils down to is the original BEV was a compliance vehicle for the EU (50% of 2020 production is going there) to meet a mid 2020s BEV requirements there. Sales where planned for NA also, but that wasn’t the primary market. So I’m guessing during a product review they came to the conclusion that a Cmax style vehicle wouldn’t cut it and wanted something desirable like a Tesla, so it was made into a the Mustang Mach E. I think we can agree that a MME is far more appealing then say a Chevy Bolt or Nissian Leaf. Outside of sheet metal and suspension tuning, it wasn’t a huge redo. As for utilization of Plant it’s being built at-Guess we will have to find out what else they have planned, if anything. A standard ICE platform can do the same thing. The only difference I can think of is that a BEV skateboard uses the battery as a structural member. I haven’t taken a good look at the MME chassis setup.

  13. Sure it does, but then again the Aviator apes Land Rover.

  14. More likely at the Rouge, Ford have already stated that more than the BEV F150 might be built there eventually.

  15. The mid-sized BEVs are a different platform again, a clean sheet design rather than MME's contorted evolution away from its C2 beginnings (control costs). As far as I know the EV Transits get built down the Transit KCAP line but that was announced at the same time as the upgrades for OHAP.

  17. Warthogs and hooves. Bah. Why can’t they give us exciting names like the 603a model with option code 99w?

  18. I was under the impression that the BEV Mid Size CUV would be using it...guess we will find out Sunday I think the Transit is going to be a conversion or something at Avon Lake.

  19. Nothing else planned for Cuautitlan, MME's platform was developed/ evolved from C2 but there's zero plans of any more vehicles using it or another vehicle being built with MME.

  20. It's simple economics, Transit Connect is the least profitable of the Transit commercial vans and outsourcing TC to VW at fixed price allows Ford to free up or eliminate those development and manufacturing resources. The Maverick pickup would seem to be a better use of resources while retaining TC via VW. I'm hoping that Jim Farley reveals more details on Ford's Mexican products.

  23. We don't know if Ford is really giving up on Transit Connect. I think there is an argument that Ford is better served by having two different compact vans - one for Europe and one for Americas and possibly other markets.

  24. The point I was trying to make is that Ford is giving up the Transit Connect for a verison of the VW Caddy in a few years. I was trying to figure out the rational of making that decision...the only thing I can come up with is the Maverick might be more profitable of the two products, thus explaining the action they did. The TC and Maverick both share the same platform and as far as we know Ford isn't giving up its C sized platform anytime soon.

  26. its absolutely idiotic...my wife works for the DMV...she was recently handed a 10 % pay cut, 2 days mandated furloughs and no overtime...apparently the cutbacks were to assist in bolstering California's deficit. Newsome himself didn't take the pay cut apparently. I personally think they would have been better off launching a full blown audit to address misappropriation of funds into such questionable pet projects as Bullet trains to no where, Sanctuary cities, pandering to Illegal immigrants, a fleet of unused BMW I3's, etc etc ...list is long. Perhaps those funds could have been better utilized to bolster first responders regarding wildfire issues, addressing an antiquated electrical grid to avoid rolling blackouts during the yearly heat wave, let alone necessary PPEs if theres ever a pandemic...I literally feel like banging my head against a brick wall sometimes...

  27. Counterpoint- starting price Ecosport in India is ₹ 8.18 Lakh (818000) or $11k USD and its starting price is $19995 in the US. The AUD is very weak against the USD anyways. Its roughly .70 per USD I was looking at Mustang Pricing...we have a bit more options in the US vs the UK. but a Ecoboost Mustang in the UK is £39,420 or $50,092 vs roughly $33,170 in the US. Exchange rate is 1.27 per pound, so they are a getting fucked.

  28. Puma goes on sale in Australia about now and starts at $29,900 + ORC for $31,990 drive away Given the exchange rate, that starting price is US$21,000 plus on road costs....for RHD.

  29. I'd have no problem with Ford "2-pronging" the segment with the sporty/swoopy Puma, and keeping the EcoSport more upright and utilitarian (i.e. more skewed toward the Bronco side of things without being a Bronco).

  30. The original article posted was about large trucks, not cars. Still trying to figure out how California is going to get the electricity to power all these vehicles, they seem to have issues now and aren't building their system out to fix that.
