  1. Uh, I got over 200K out of both of my Focuses/Foci, and both were fun to drive. I enjoyed them. On the other hand, I rented a Corolla and Sentra on two of my SoCal vacations, and couldn't wait to turn them in at the airport.

  3. Well akirby, there is a difference to me and my dealer. Since we are not too sure the prod. numbers for the Mach 1, I want to be at the front of the line....where I am now....so that the Ford Reg. Dir. can see my dealers early interest in getting allocations that will serve their needs. For me...it's to serve MY needs, and that is to get my order in and to make sure I get the car I want. Waiting serves no real purpose in a "limited production world" of certain vehicles. This isn't my first rodeo. My 12th Mustang, will be my 68th vehicle owned, and my 40th new vehicle owned. I've purchased when and where the inventory was no issue, and I've ordered when times were "tough." So, waiting in this "climate" does not benefit my needs, wants and desires for the car that will show up at my dealer as I ordered it. The ordering Guide would have helped me this past week. And may I add, my dealer also was wanting them to serve their needs. So, it's not just me....my dealer is a large one with a huge following. Yes, the Mach 1 has not "started a run" to get in to their front doors at opening time....yet. But, they do anticipate great interest coming soon when the car gets tested and is "out there" for potential buyers to really see what this car is all about. Being a "car guy" with so many Mustangs under my belt....I can see this Mach 1 will be the best 5.0 Coyote Mustang built thus far, and I won't make the "mistake" of waiting till whenever to order. Up front and leading. That's where I like to be. There are times to wait for what you want, etc. This isn't one of them. IMHO. And, there is a "shake up" of sorts going on with Ford's Regional Mgrs on how they will assign allocations. Dealers have been told it won't be the same as in the past. I can't explain it all....but, I do know the dealer is trying to figure it out as it has just been dumped on them that....."things, they are a changing!" They don't know all the details as of yesterday.

  6. Because Lincolns are still made by the Ford Motor Company and it’s just easier to have all the discussions in one forum. We decided to delete the Lincoln forum a couple of years ago but never followed through with it.

  7. As evidenced by Ford's decades long success in dominating the pickup market, no one does trucks better than Ford. Just when the competition thinks they've caught up with their latest model introduction, Ford leapfrogs them with new features, technology, etc. That same dedication and commitment over the years has cemented the iconic status to the Mustang and looks to doing the same for the new Bronco series. Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally made the right decision at the time in recognizing that Ford needed to sell Aston Martin, Volvo, Land Rover, etc. and concentrate its resources on its core brand. The One Ford concept was correct at the time but has now evolved and changed as both the domestic and global markets have. The company has repaired the damage done by Mark Fields, and now encouraged greatly by the enthusiastic market response to the return of the Bronco nameplate. Solidifying the enthusiasm and order reservations for the all-new Bronco is the attention to detail that Ford has shown with the new Bronco. If Ford had the same commitment and resources for other models, Ford would be a global powerhouse beyond anyone's imagination!

  8. Here's a novel idea: Why not give the southern half of CA back to Mexico and in exchange they pay for.....wait for it....the border wall, which would include one around Southern Cal. It'll soon be a giant charcoal briquet anyway. It's called killing two birds with one stone. I'm kidding of course but it's worth a thought...

  11. You get into a BL and it's obvious the materials are so much nicer. I agree. Every time i open my door it's the wow factor (Chalet). Love everything wrapped in leather, especially the dash. Don't know what it is with leather dashes, fell in love with that feature when i first saw them on the 1978 Diamond Jubilee's and again on the T-Bird Heritage and special edition Ranchero for 1979. You mentioned about blacking out your grill, with the monochrome available now are you going to install one of those grills?
