  1. Ice-capades just said there is a $1,000 Gas Guzzler Tax, that showed up on the Mustang Price LIst...just out. That's it for me. I'm done. My build w/o HP is now at $60,390. Not worth it any more to me.

  2. So, definitely, the Mach 1 will have that also?? If so, I'm out. Done.

  3. Or download the manual at your expense and time. Beancounters at work. Wish they had more power when it came to dct Focus trans and other multi billion dollar snafus.

  4. Hello JoeG76. I'm at $60,000 as well without the handling package. That is a very good question. I will be in contact with my sales manager to see if I can also do just that. Will let you know. My build as follows: 6 speed manual, 700A Deluxe Package, Elite Package, Appearance Package, Nav, Wheels 64S in place of base. Just waiting for cost of the HP. Your thoughts?

  5. Yes sir atomcat68. Honda Ridgeline would be a lot more popular if most people buying pickup trucks were completely rational in their decisions. No other pickup truck combines smooth ride quality, secure handling, value, and "trucky" capabilities appropriate for personal use as well as Ridgeline. But everybody knows that buying a car or truck for personal use isn't anywhere close to being completely rational. There's a lot of emotion including status seeking involved. That's why people, me included, willingly pay for overkill.

  6. I was expecting around $60k for what I’m looking at. I won’t be getting the auto trans, or the navigation, but I will be adding the handling package (I’m figuring $1500-$2000 for that). So, I’m right around what I expected. Also, the “base” Mach 1 is pretty loaded as it is. And the fact that the additional safety features are now on every model helps with the insurance bill too.

  8. From the Chicago Sun-Times: "After quality issues last year and a two-month shutdown due to the coronavirus, the company reports its local operations are running 24 hours a day to meet demand. “We’re really proud of the vehicles we are building in Chicago,” Savona said. “The quality by all available measures has been terrific.” https://chicago.suntimes.com/business/2020/10/13/21514527/ford-motor-chicago-assembly-plant-explorer-suv-production

  9. Not sure how that's possible - F-150's cabin is massive, feels so much bigger than Explorer's.

  10. So how do you explain the 2021 paint guide? Doesn’t seem like a typo since one color is only on the Raptor.

  11. True, but for most people, they are paying for overkill. I am guilty of that. I bought a Mustang only to get stuck in traffic jams and rarely be able to go fast.

  12. There's also precedent too. When 2015 came out, Raptor didn't come out until 2017.

  13. Two things really struck me from that article. First, that issues with the 6.0 are still affecting Ford and still being litigated. Second, the staggering statistics regarding Fords warranty costs and the amount of money they have had to pay because of this engine. Those are not little numbers. That being said, with Fords clear dishonesty and cover up, I think the costs are deserved. You can’t tell your customers that engine is fine while suing the manufacturer of said engine for defects.

  14. They actually built very few, about 30, not thousands of Escape PHEV's that are at the plant. With Ford cancelling all the unscheduled 2020 Escape PHEV orders, I doubt the few 2020's built will ever be shipped to Dealers.

  15. It may not fit the definition of a real truck, but for most people , a real truck is overkill and this is more truck than the average person will ever need. Most pickups hardest mission is to pick up a new table from Ikea. If one is a contractor, then this isn't for that customer.

  16. The 2021 Mustang Order Guide has been uploaded to the Dealer Order Guides section. Note: The USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) is not open yet as the 2021 Mustang specifications have not yet been loaded into the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system. I addition, the 2021 Mustang Price List has not yet been released.

  17. That explains most VW products......still another strong new product in a growing segment that Ford really isn't competitive in.

  19. The issue is putting mega miles on a vehicle and not paying it off fast enough....for whatever reason(s). Then the secondary issue of the vehicle being a piece of garbage.

  20. The redesign isn't what is needed to make the Ridgeline sell better. IMO it's the price. In Canada the Ridgeline starts at $44,600. The Colorado starts at $27,598.

  22. I wouldn't take any dealers word as to what is actually wrong with it going by that forum post.

  23. I wouldn't worry about it to much. It's just some teething problems they are going through. I'm sure everything will be fine. Just make sure you have fire insurance on your home, along with smoke detectors.?

  24. One day after I put a deposit down for an Escape PHEV (last week), I saw stories in the UK auto press about the Kuga PHEV fires and the resulting recall and suspension of Kuga sales. I had same thought, maybe that explains the delay in delivery as much as covid, which is what the dealer told me. I now see notice of a second EU recall on the PHEVs over battery leaking hot gases that are not vented and therefore pose another risk of fire in these vehicles. Yikes! I'll attach link to the second recall issue below if I'm allowed to do that here -- new to forum so not sure what's supported. So question to all of you who know autos better than I do: are these just a couple of bumps in the road that can be fixed and forgotten, or should I consider canceling my deposit and at least giving it more time to see how things shake out? Got myself excited about the Escape PHEV but am now having serious second thoughts. https://car-recalls.eu/recall/ford-kuga-phev-hot-gas-battery-fire/

  25. I don't understand why Ford should be having this problem, they have been building plug in hybrids for many years - they really should have this drivetrain and its components nailed down and perfected at this point. Perhaps they brought in a new supplier for one of their subsystems or controllers?
