  1. I've done some house cleaning and consolidation and added in a few new items to take notice of. Please review the items below for changes / updates. 1.) I request that you subscribe to this thread if you haven't already. Click the little button at the top that says "Watch topic". That way I'll get no frantic responses from any of you that don't keep up with this and ask me a million requests when I am gone or on vacation that I have already said I won't be available. You will be automatically notified as long as you have your forum / board settings set up properly. 2.) There are a number of you that have come to this forum for only the purpose of tracking and have in a sense spammed the forums with silly banter in order to fluff up your post count to get in here and demand some tracking action. I would think that if tracking was that important, many of those of you would have read my rules and responded accordingly. I know how you feel ... it is just like Terms of Service agreements or software piracy acknowledgments - you know, those agreements in software programs that scroll on forever that those people ask you to read, but you don't and you just click "agree" anyway to get to quickly click on the next prompt. Humor me and read each and every rule. I ask for a reason and there are so many rule breakers I'm close to my wits end with a lot of you. The rules are here to assist me in helping you - that is it. 3.) If you break a rule, I am no longer going to give you a kind reminder. I am simply just going to ignore your request. If you find you are being ignored, then you did something wrong. Figure it out. Re-read the rules you were supposed to have read in the first place. Then, once you are ready to comply properly, you can re-bump your thread properly. I am not going to respond until you do. 4.) I am sorry, but some of you are taking extreme advantage of my generosity and this free service I offer on my own time. Those that do are ruining it for everyone else. From now on: Absolutely no more than ONE (1) update per tracking thread, per week. I don't care if you are in the process of shipping, or have started production. You plan it out when you want to hear from me, but no more than once per week. I don't care if your lease is expiring and you need to know tracking info so you aren't left without a vehicle. Get a clue - If you are to the point where you need to know where your vehicle is in production because you may/will be left without a vehicle to drive - you have definitely already screwed up and have extremely poor planning that even I can't help you with. 5.) All PMs asking about tracking, information or updates will be deleted no questions asked. I thought this was clear, but apparently it is not. I don't care if you can't figure out how to post in this forum. No PM's about tracking or updates, period! 6.) I am not ignoring you, but at the same time I am not baby sitting your vehicle tracking either. If you want an update, bump your thread. If I haven't gotten to it in a few days, please re-bump - it may have fallen off my list of new updated topics. 7.) If you start to become annoying by wanting timely minute-by-minute updates of any minor thing that happened during your production run or shipment - please stop posting and see your dealer. I am not a service, I do this in what little free time I have because I want to. Please don't make me not want to do this anymore. If you respect my free time, I'll respect your request - it is pretty simple. You don't own me and I don't have to respond. 8.) I have to be at work to do this and I'll typically handle most requests in the morning. Don't ask me for a weekend update because you won't get it. 9.) If I have previously given you an update and in that update there was a specific date listed of something to happen next in the production run, please don't ask me for any more updates until that date has passed. I waste a ton of time with folks wanting updates to production dates I have given you when that date hasn't even happened yet - there won't be any changes. Please be smart about it. 10.) I am not the plant, delivery system, production scheduler or your dealership. Don't ask me to estimate any type of dates or time frame for you, or why things are such and such or taking so long. I can't and won't. There are a million and one variables in what happens with your order - things take as long as they take. 11.) I provide vehicle locator updates - status updates that can be found in your vehicle visibility report. That is it. Don't ask me to provide you with anything other than that, i.e.: no build sheets, no window stickers, no production schedules, no rail car information, no rail car numbers, etc. 12.) Do not make multiple threads for updates. Stick to one thread per VIN / Dealer Code-Order Number for updates. You want to follow a second car you have ordered, make a new thread for that vehicle. Repeat, do not make multiple threads for the same vehicle - even if you've provided incorrect information the first time. Just correct your mis-information in an update to your thread. I will get sick of figuring out which one I need to respond to and just not respond to any of your threads. 13.) I am a human, not an internet robot. I appreciate civility and I enjoy pleases and thank yous. However, please keep the extra chitchat outside of tracking info to a minimum because it helps me sort through threads I haven't upated yet and ones I have. 14.) I do not want anything in return for this. However, after all this work for you, my only payoffs are, 1 - knowing you are happy, and 2 - seeing that final picture of the vehicle I helped you follow for weeks on end. Please don't forget the photo. I love that. 15.) I need a valid VIN, or dealer code and order number to track your order. Please quadruple check the numbers you provide me. I know they are a long string of numbers and letters, but reporting those numbers right the first time will makes us both happier. 16.) When you bump your threads looking for more info, please repost your VIN (or Dealer Codes and Order Number) within your bump. 17.) Do not come here looking for information if you don't have either a VIN or proper, correct Dealer Code AND Order Number. Don't try to give me a Dealer Code with your vehicle description and expect me to find your vehicle. In most cases it is a needle in a haystack. Without both - forget it. If you have your DORA, the Dealer Code and Order Number are both on there, do me a favor and give me both or forget it. Also know this, most dealerships order multiple vehicles -even different types, under the same Order Number, so I will need a description of your vehicle along with your Dealer Code AND Order Number - such as: type, engine, trans, body style, that is it. Don't give me packages or trim levels, those things don't mean squat to me and are not listed in the Visibility Report as trim levels, just a laundry list of options. 18.) I am only a minor admin on this sub-forum, I have no control over how it works and how you get here. I can organize threads and close topics, but I am mostly just a user like the rest of you. Forget all the conspiracy theories of what I am doing to you in why you can't post here or your threads disappearing or whatever related to how the forum works, it is just all B.S.. 19.) If I give you a status and it is Unscheduled-Clean, that means you have a successful order in the system and it isn't currently scheduled for production. When you are in Unscheduled-Clean status I will provide updates no sooner than every two weeks, providing you bump your thread properly. There are a multitude of reasons why something doesn't progress quickly from that status to the line. It has to do with production schedules, plant availability, ordering priority numbers, where you live and that region / dealerships specific allowed allocation segments for that vehicle. I have seen Unscheduled-Clean status stay that way for weeks and weeks on end - even as long as 6 months depending on the availability of what you are ordering and speed of the plant, etc. etc. If you are upset about your vehicle being Unscheduled-Clean for an extended period, you need to work with your salesperson to try to adjust your order priority or find out what period your allocation unit is limited to. 20.) Enjoy yourself. If these updates start making you angry or hostile, or your attitude is making me angry or hostile, please go elsewhere and blow off some steam. Thanks as always. Any comments will be deleted.

  4. Well folks, it finally happened - took delivery Tuesday evening, and it’s been a whirlwind since so I haven’t been able to take the time to post some pictures. I’ve already put 90 miles on (it had 11 at delivery so it’s just over 100 now), and it’s awesome. I've gotten several compliments and comments/questions about it both days so far! I’ll make another post about my likes, dislikes, and issues so far, but in the meantime here are some pics!

  6. Cyberdman has provided tracking for many years but is no longer able to provide that service. The following options are available in addition to asking your dealer for a Vehicle Visibility Report update. Your dealer has 24/7 access to order tracking and shipping details. https://www.ford.com/help/contact/#chat https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking#/

  7. Crappy driveway pics but here she is! Early impressions: - Has that bank vault feel like a F-150. Solid and substantial. - Rides REALLY nice. Shook it around a bit out in the woods just to see what she can do. Incredibly surefooted. Much more confident feeling than other off roaders I've been in. - I know it's a learning transmission but it hunts for gears quite a bit. I'm assuming that will calm down soon as we get used to eachother. - Hate the auto start/stop. I've just been turning it off at startup, the button is easy. - The interior is solid and super comfortable. - Don't be in a hurry to get out of a parking lot with it! Lots of questions and pictures. Overall? This thing is a damn home run. The engineers, designers, and awesome crew at MAP absolutely nailed it.

  10. I hear you and I agree but it’s deeper for me. The cultural ignorance of so many decisions is the same “rot” that has doomed so many beloved nameplates over the years. The launch and abandon mindset is built into the culture. It was almost eradicated under Mulally but it grew back. Had Ford followed through with the original plan for a CD6F based Edge, it would’ve been out for MY2022 almost 3 years ago. When the CD6F Edge was shelved in 2020 that’s when China started to develop their own C2 Edge (and Nautilus). The company just can’t stay focused. Things get boring and change direction when the wind blows in a different direction. Mulally was adamant about consistency and continuous improvement but with Ford the lesson is never learned. I’m sorry I could go on for hours on this.

  16. Great, another example of a Ford Dealer that's too lazy and can't be bothered to do their job and provide the information a customer requires. It's simply amazing how many Dealers are either so lazy or incompetent to realize that the little time and effort it takes to provide customers with retail orders such information. Sure, many dealerships are working with lower staff levels than pre-pandemic and there's been a tremendous increase in the volume of retail orders. For more than 35+ years of managing inventory, my policy was to be pro-active and provide retail customers with order status updates before they felt a need to ask. Each morning I prepared a Vehicle Visibility report showing the current and/or updated status for every retail and fleet order that was distributed to the General Manager, Sales Manager, Fleet Manager, Finance/Business Managers and all Sales Representatives that had retail orders. It took all of a half hour to produce and distribute the information. At some point the microchip shortage situation will be history and commodity restraints and supplier issues will ease. But in the future, when today's customers return to the market again, those customers and enthusiasts that have been treated so poorly, those customers are going to remember the dealership experience. Short-sighted management decisions, policies and practices do not make for long term success and customer loyalty.

  17. Ice and akirby both provide enormous amounts of very helpful information. And everything they provide is true and helpful to everyone. Your comment is very disrespectful. The answers and information they provide is a free source of accurate information and I see them answers the same questions repeatedly over and over. To my understanding they do all of this on their personal time so I think they have no reason to be required to "be above petty responses." We should be respectful and be more appreciative of everything they do for all of us.

  21. So I'm one those people stuck in purgatory with my Bronco order. Its been built since 7/2 and now sitting in a lot near MAP. After the announcements with the roof delays pushing delivery dates back to October/November, I was coming up with a plan B on how to handle the issue. I originally was planning for some delays in getting the Bronco, but my timeline is rapidly running out-my wife starts a new job with a school district in September (she's been working in the evenings or part time with cases she has over the summer and I'd borrow the car if I needed to get into work in the mornings) and my work was going to start us on a hybrid schedule in October. So with that mind I was scrambling coming up for ideas as how to fix it. The Plan B was looking at punting on the Bronco order and waiting till 2023MY for it. I was looking at leasing the Mach E as a replacement, but then my wife suggested a Bronco Sport, since it was cheaper and she would like to get one to replace her Escape and she would take over payments when the Bronco came in. I was willing to wait till the end of September to see how things where going to shake out with the new tooling and if there was any other delays popping with it before committing to this. While this was all going on, my brother in law has been trying to get a Tesla 3 to replace his 2010 Fusion Hybrid. He missed out a month or two ago on getting one and finally nailed one down and is getting it today. My wife mentions to me, hey is he gonna trade it in? I said I'm not sure if he can due to Tesla's dealershipless model they use. So I wind up dropping my sister a text at 7AM this morning and come to find out that he is trading it in and they are only giving him $1000 on it...I told her, hey I'll buy it off you for that much and I'll just trade it in when I get my Bronco and most likely get that same amount for a trade in. So it looks like I'll be a short term owner of a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 215K miles on it for a few months. I just need a beater car to get around (I've been without my SHO since the end of June) and in the grand scheme of things this will be the cheapest route for me to go to have wheels.

  22. I'm planning on doing an overdue update/revision to this "Ford Vehicle Ordering & Scheduling Process" topic that will also include information on the new Retail Order Verification Process, Vehicle Visibility, WBDO and any other matters that are directly related to the ordering and scheduling process. My intent is to replace the existing content with the most recent information and provide it as a resource tool only for the information and not a discussion thread. If members have questions about specific model ordering, scheduling, production or tracking they should be be posted in the forums for the specific vehicle models so that they can be addressed appropriately. If possible, I'll have the updates done within the next week.

  23. That's hardly the case. There are a lot of healthy discussions here at BOF with criticism of Ford, along with agreeing to disagree between those with opposing viewpoints. I think I have a high tolerance but get annoyed when disagreements become nothing more than a pissing match satisfying egos or some other agenda. And all too often the problems are with newer members trolling and not contributing anything productive to the site. And a lot of times I'll let things slide and not bother responding out of an abundance of caution to not overreact. My patience with disruptive behavior and other ongoing actions is wearing thin. To anyone reading this thinking I'm always pro-Ford, that could hardly be the case. I couldn't begin to count the number of times over the past 35 years that I expressed my criticisms of Ford in person to Ford representatives. I spend far too much time providing information to this site and assisting members on the public forums here and privately to be wasting my time with nonsense. I started a conversation with the other moderators a few months ago about behaviors on the site getting out of control. The result was that the moderators became more pro-active in taking action when it was necessary and that's something that's an ongoing process. As moderators, we act independently but share a common goal of maintaining and even improving the site's success by being the best resource for Ford customers and enthusiasts looking for information or assistance.

  29. Ok this is yet again a repeating argument of “yes it is” “no it isn’t”. Peak power use IS an issue in some areas and more EV charging COULD make that worse. And I’m going to keep reminding folks that a large percentage of the population will not be able to charge at home and if those people get off work at 5 pm at 10% battery they need a public charger. Are there ways to mitigate this problem as EVs become more popular? Of course. The grid has to improve. EV charging has to improve both from a public infrastructure standpoint and technology. That doesnt mean it can’t work today or won’t work tomorrow it just means everything has to evolve and there will be bumps along the way. So let’s stop this repeated nonsense of “it will never work” vs “there are no problems at all”. Neither are true.

  33. There is far too much speculation going on about Super Duty commodity restraints, scheduling times, etc. with members reporting Dealer and/or Ford Zone Managers claiming 40+ week delays to get certain vehicles scheduled. 2022MY Super Duty Option Availability: For the remainder of 2022MY, the following options will ONLY be available to schedule on retail orders. Stock orders with these options will not be selected for scheduling: Spray in Bedliner (85S) 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package (53W) Tonneau Cover (21D,21E,21J) Active Steering (60A) (optional on Lariat, King Ranch & Platinum; standard on Limited) 19.5 Forged Polished Aluminum Wheel (64D) (standard on all F450 series and included on STX Pkg—17S) Black Appearance Package (17L) on Lariat The above is the last official information available from Ford regarding the Super Duty options of concern for many customers. Ford does not release expected availability timeframes for either Retail or Stock order options, only for Fleet orders. Dealers that don't know or can't be bothered to check the resources available can tell customers anything they want and/or claim that what they're telling a customer came from their Ford Zone Manager. That doesn't make the information factual. Someone posts such claims about 26, 27, 40+ scheduling delays which gets repeated by others and then it's considered a fact... nonsense! Ford is doing everything possible to get Retail orders scheduled and built as soon as possible which is why the above noted options are no longer available for Stock orders. In addition, there are far too many posts comparing order specifications, scheduled production dates, build dates, etc. and questions about why older orders aren't scheduled and built first or sooner. Claims that duplicate orders are scheduled at different times or overlooked aren't justified without comparing the exact specifications. Look at the 2022 Super Duty Pick-Up Order Guide (38 pages) and consider all the possible build combinations. Then consider the commodity restraints, supplier issues, supply chain issues, plant constraints, microchip requirements, etc. Unfortunately, there are far too many posts that are turning the forums into a Private Message board. Ford gives Retail order scheduling and production the highest priority. Unfortunately, the incredible increase in the volume of Retail orders is causing its own problems. One of the factors is the number of Retail order specifications being changed by customers trying to get their orders scheduled sooner. Every unscheduled order gets reviewed for commodity compliance prior to scheduling but scheduled Retail orders with changes often require both regional office and plant approval. Scheduled Retail orders with approved changes then require re-sequencing plant scheduling for that order and many others in order to keep optimizing plant production. Unscheduled Retail orders with either 01 or 02 priority codes are reviewed closely and every attempt possible is made to make exceptions to commodity restraints, etc. in order to schedule those vehicles as soon as possible.

  35. There seems to be two different type of people on the forum, those who constantly complain and find any reason to either blame Ford or their dealer for what’s going on right now with all of the scheduling or production delays. Ford is lying to them, the dealer is lying them, both are lying to them. The second type is someone like me. i am waiting to be scheduled for almost 5 months. I understand the situation is difficult right now and life is not always fair with different regions, different dealer allocations, different unscheduled order bank numbers at individual dealer, commodity constrains, huge unprecedented overall superduty order bank, part shortages and supply chain delays. Etc, etc, etc. i’m not blaming either Ford or my dealer, i simply follow weekly release notes, try to drop the commodity constrains that might delay me and continue to wait my turn. Sooner or later i will get scheduled like everyone else does eventually, patience is virtue. There are literally thousands of orders sitting at 02 priority right now waiting for one commodity or another to clear. My dealer alone has over a hundred SD orders that are at 02. Now multiply that by all the dealerships and retail orders in the country. See the problem for what it really is. So no, nobody is lying to you. And it is not the end of the world if your husband doesn’t get his birthday present truck in time for his birthday. He’ll be happy when he gets it during these Covid years.

Dealer finds the vehicle equipped with the options you require, can arrange a trade with another Dealer 150 miles away, gives you what you consider a decent price and you're still not satisfied until you can get a "slightly" better deal elsewhere. The Dealer spent time and effort finding the vehicle, arranged with the stocking Dealer to do a trade, prepared to send drivers or a truck to go get the vehicle, etc. yet you're still shopping! The Dealer did what you asked and it's still not good enough!

  44. As much as us enthusiasts would have liked a RWD edge I think the C2 version would have been more successful. I think this is Farley’s personality showing in product decisions. Going too fast on new things and having to stop and change direction when issues come up or something more enticing. Ditching Edge and Nautilus for BEVs instead of building a new plant, then ditching the Rivian deal before it really got started (severe lack of due diligence on that one), starting then stopping the VW platform. Too much short term thinking trying to go too fast.

  45. As if other forms of energy aren’t damaging to the environment? strip mining for battery materials doesn’t damage the environment? Having to literally just bury wind turbine blades because they can’t be recycled isn’t damaging to the environment? What about the excessive amounts of water needed to put out a battery fire? That’s not good and we could have 100% American energy but that’s not allowed lol. there are benefits and downsides to all options. There is no utopia of unicorn farts and rainbows, and BEVs aren’t that despite that they’re made out to be just that. They just have different issues. They’re not excuses, they’re just being realistic with the obstacles and hurdles that exist to follow that path. Just saying it or passing a law doesn’t wave a magic wand and bam it’s all finished. There are things to overcome to get there. why not let customers decide the timeline of the BEV shift rather than force it on everyone if they’re so good.
