  4. Got the final permission from the boss to go ahead and place the order! Can’t wait! I ordered through Stephen’s Auto who is one of the below invoice mass sellers. Will keep you guys posted if anything goes sideways. So far they’ve been a pleasure to work with. @PREMiERdrum going though CBus on the way back only adds half an hour onto my trip home. If things aren’t too crazy maybe the girlfriend and I will swing through to buy you and the family dinner as a thanks for feeding me Bronco information all these years.

  5. Which is a positive change for once. Give people a reason to buy a new one.

  6. If you read the study, it says that Tesla truck was least liked/desired when presented to the focus group without branding - just 19% picked it. But when it was revealed as Tesla truck, 32% selected. So that's the power of the Tesla brand in a nutshell. Ford brand was the opposite. 59% picked the F-150 blind but only 45% picked it branded. But good news for Ford... for the sub-group that is seriously considering EV truck, Ford's blind score was 60% but 75% branded. This means truck buyers value the Ford brand while the wider general public doesn't really care for it.

  7. Ford probably thinks it can replicate in Brazil what it pulled off in Australia and NZ... switching over to selling just Ranger (sourced from Argentina in this case) and a few imported models from North America and Europe. The challenges I think are: 1. Ranger is too expensive to be a big volume seller to support the distribution network. It's hard to imagine that you can refocus the Ford brand to sell mainly Ranger like in Australia when midsize trucks are a small segment in Brazil. Ford is missing compact and subcompact trucks which sell in much higher volume. Maverick will address the compact one but it will be imported from Mexico. Ford hasn't had much success selling Mexico sourced vehicles in Brazil. 2. Ford has a credibility problem in Brazil. When Ford ended production in Australia, there wasn't any real expectation that Ford will withdraw completely. Ranger was already the top selling Ford model in Australia and it wasn't affected by the end of local production. It's different in Brazil because the top sellers (EcoSport and Ka) are the one ending production. 3. There is regional chain effect at work. Ford Australia has regional engineering center that is responsible for Ranger and Ford was committed to producing in Thailand so there was no doubt Ranger will keep coming. Ford doesn't have much of engineering center left in Sao Paulo and its existence in Brazil and the entire South America market is in doubt. How do you maintain relevance in Chile or Uruguay without EcoSport from Brazil for example? And if these smaller markets in South America collapses because there are not affordable models, there goes the Ranger volume too. So that will lead to Ford pulling the plug in Ranger in Argentina. So what will Ford sell in Brazil? Everything will circle the drain.

  8. I wouldn't worry about feeling sluggish; feeling it might actually feel more responsive at the low end with the 10 speed auto. The biggest issue for me is if it is always in the turbo at 75-80mph and you end up with worse mileage than the V6 has, plus way more noise.

  9. Thx for the warning! IMO at least. Nothing but jelly beans and ugly wheel designs. But as always, different strokes for different folks. As a stockholder I say keep him away from Mustang, Bronco and trucks!?

  10. I received the DORA from my dealer this morning. Everything is accurate, it even indicates the painted modular hardtop is late availability.

  11. " Labor unions that endorsed Joe Biden are lashing out after he revoked the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline. The United Association of Union Plumbers, which backed the Democrat president, released a statement over the weekend which said, “sadly the Biden administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work.”"

  12. Dr. Anthony Fauci Is Our Highest-Paid Federal Employee according to "Forbes" magazine. It just revealed that Dr. Anthony Fauci is actually the highest-paid federal employee in the entire country. Fauci makes $417,608 a year . . . or at least that's what he made in 2019, the latest year that federal salary data is available. That's even more than the PRESIDENT . . . who makes $400,000. Fauci's colleague DR. DEBORAH BIRX made $305,972 in 2019. That tops the vice-presidential salary of $235,100. Senators and members of the House of Representatives make $174,000 a year . . . although House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will earn $223,500 this year. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts makes $270,700, and a four-star military general pulls down $268,000. The benefits or results from the 417K are? Umm wear two masks at the same time....

  14. This is interesting. If you get past all the GM hoopla, the analyst brings up a very interesting point about potential liability issues for ICE auto manufacturers in the future ('toxic tort'). He also believes the adoption of BEV's will be sudden and dramatic, and if he is right I wonder if there will be a possibility of companies like GM and Ford spinning off their 'traditional' ICE vehicle businesses in the face of rapidly declining business and huge potential liabilities:

  16. My Wildtrak also lists "Wildtrak with Lux Package" on my order summary. Dealer said they will call to look over the DORA when they get it. The summary is missing options some free standing options though.

  17. cool, keep me posted...I have hunch DORAS may be some time away though....not exactly confident in how Ford has handled this roll out at all....

  18. That’s interesting, I converted my Outer Banks with Lux and “Lux Package” was listed in the confirmation email from Ford. I don’t have the DORA yet, should have it this week and will be looking it over closely. Maybe Lux is not currently selectable for only certain trims?

  19. Ford haven't given is a Mustang concept since the S197 was previewed by the stunning concept in 2003. Most commentators that reported on the "progressive energy in strength" sculpture that was shown at the Chinese auto show back in October seem to think it previews S650. I hope so, because it looks gorgeous to me!

  20. Probably not. His job was most likely administrative. Ralph Gilles, the head of design for the old FCA, was on Autoline awhile back and said he never ever has time to actually draw cars. I suspect that's the same for all head designers, no matter the company.

  21. Twenty or so years ago Saturday Night Live would have had a few great shows with this material coming out of DC.... Fauci said it is 'common sense' to wear 2 masks to stop the spread of COVID-19. Here's how to do it. Ford will start issuing double masks and will be mandated to wear them tomorrow.... Would someone seal up Fauci`s room with duct tape then put him a plastic bubble and roll him in, please.

  22. Here's my T-Bird thread I submitted under 'Executives and Mgt.' about 7 years ago - before the automotive industry became "The Land That Sedans Forgot". ? I still say hold by my claim that if built right, I'd be in line to get one of these - and I haven't bought a Blue Oval product since '89! -Ovaltine

  23. A shade would be generous. It's basically "bluish black".... Agreed. It had red accents inside too - love details like that. I anticipate making some upgrades like this as they come available (and/or doing some things myself).

  24. Sorry for the smokescreen, guys. This was happening on an early modulation of CD6. It had a hybrid powertrain driving the front wheels and independent electric motors on the rears. The idea was to go from a pretty sensible normal car in FWD to an absolute torque monster in RWD or AWD with a rear wheel bias. I *believe* that some of the battery packaging accommodations survived into the production version of CD6, but this project didn't have a big name lobbying for it at the end.
