Power generation is a real mess lately. Coal is under fire from all sides and plants are shutting down permanently left and right. Nuclear is having a hard time competing with natural gas plants on cost and are shutting down permanently despite being far better suited for baseload operation than gas is. Meanwhile the govt incentive money keeps flowing to wind and solar, even to the point of building it where it's not needed just to collect the incentive money. Then more nat gas plants are thrown up in the background, out of site and with no fanfare since they're not "clean", to make up for the gaps in wind/solar and to backfill the coal and nuke plants that have shut down. It all works well enough that consumers (voters) don't notice until a good cold spell hits deep into the midwest. Then the windmills freeze and all the gas is diverted to heating needs. Next thing you know it's rolling brownouts, people freezing, and entire industries shutting down due to lack of natural gas or electricty. But yeah, let's just throw a bunch of EV load in too. I'm sure it'll all work out great.4 points

Beautiful pics! 2021 Bronco on 35's Tires [Area 51 2-Door First Edition] Every time I start to think "Nah.... I don't need 35"s, 33s will be more than enough"... Ford puts out these amazing photos of the Bronco in it's Ultimate form.2 points

Don't worry...it will be 60 degrees+ in a few days there in Texas. Even here in Central FL, temps go from running the gas furnace to running the A/C in 48 hours. Don't miss MI, especially back in the 90's when one winter we had over 20 days straight when the high barely made it to zero and lows way below zero. A couple years ago two FL guys were found frozen to death in MI about 100 yards from their broken down vehicle in some rural area. This kind of cold once your body heat is gone can kill you fast.1 point

Ford has rethought and redone their entire design and engineering process since 2012/13. Yes you are correct that the Bronco design was locked in by late 2018 (which is when I first saw the CAD drawings) but the prototypes weren't built until around April of 2019, and they didn't start driving around in daylight hours until late summer 2019 (about 6 months before the originally scheduled debut before COVID happened) which is right around when we saw the first spy shots. Expect S650 to take a similar timeline. Trust me, if S650 Prototypes have been built they are most definitely not out in daylight hours and they have not likely made it off of the test tracks yet either. What OP posted may have elements of the new S650 drivetrain and/or suspension (I am not privy to that information and I wouldn't be comfortable disclosing that at this point anyway) but it is definitely not a full blown prototype.1 point

Will there be any standardized testing to honestly see where the students stand after all this non or remote education stuff? Will the advancing of students be automatic? Will this be kinda like gifting the next group of teachers? In school districts that are still closed down, are the taxes still being collected? Are teaches getting paid? Will there be any outdoor classes come spring and summer? Oh wait not during the summer vacation time.... Walter Williams hit the nail on the head with his statements of personal experiences about education, he said he was glad he got his education before it was fashionable for elite white people to like black people. Hopefully the students that need to catch up can and have teachers that want to make that happen. Chicago School Districts? not so much....1 point

Yup, and that's definitely a good thing, IMO.1 point

My thing is,the way alot of people are now today, all it takes is the wrong thing to happen with an electric car, people get outraged and turn on the electric cars,it will crash and burn down. And all of the stupid companies that went FULL ON electric will be executed!!1 point

While Genesis has lately been putting out some great new product, the brand has a big problem that isn't easy to fix: it is sold almost exclusively by Hyundai dealers that often don't even have a Genesis sign on their stores. If people complain about the sometimes non-luxury experience Lincoln clients get at combined Ford-Lincoln stores, that experience is greatly magnified at Hyundai dealerships. At least Lincoln does have a fair number of Lincoln-only dealers and Ford-Lincoln dealers have much greater experience selling their luxury brand. A couple of years ago Genesis tried to force Hyundai dealers to move toward Genesis-only stores in the U.S., but Hyundai dealers took Genesis to court and, thanks to state franchise laws, killed that plan. Ford dealers did the same thing to Lincoln's aggressive plan to push toward more Lincoln-exclusive stores a year or so ago, though Lincoln managed to salvage its plan in part and continues to move that direction at a more sedate pace.1 point

VALENCIA, Spain, Jan. 16, 2020 – Ford today announced a €42 million investment in its Valencia manufacturing plant, Spain, to support the company’s electrification strategy with a state-of-the-art battery assembly facility in addition to new S-MAX Hybrid and Galaxy Hybrid models. Two new assembly lines will enable the advanced lithium-ion batteries that help power all-new Kuga Plug-In Hybrid, all-new Kuga Hybrid, and new S-MAX Hybrid and Galaxy Hybrid to be produced alongside the vehicles for greater manufacturing efficiency and sustainability. Delivered through a €24 million investment, the new battery assembly facility will begin production in September this year. There is a list getting longer and longer of all types of funny things, yet was obvious and stated by many, but there coming out now.... who`d a thought. The media did everything possible to bullshit so many. The media through time from word of mouth to the technology of today is the tool that drives the wedge between populations. Look into any population that went from self rule to being ruled by the few who are above all others or know what's best for everyone else and you find the tool in period correct form.1 point

That would imply it is possible to put the battery in the same place on the Edge since they are very similar. There should be some battery supply from Fusion hybrid. Unless course, Ford will use those battery on Fusion Evos.1 point

The price reduction is nice, but if I was in the market for an EV, I'm not sure these would be my first choice.1 point

I certainly hope not. The challenger and charger are pretty unique so losing them or seeing them turn into something lesser would be truly a sad day1 point

That didn't sound anything like it was dead, just integrated deeper into the engineering team of the company as a whole. It sounded more like the author reading into things. Here's the statement from Stellantis:1 point

I mean, it *will* get them more allocation once stock units are available. I just can't for the life of me see how these mega offers like Granger are going to do anything but lose their asses. While the huge movement of 2021 and 2022 Broncos will certainly give them favorable allocation, that formula has a fixed ceiling that their anticipated volume has probably doubled many times over.1 point

If only there was a man who could have warned us about all this? Someone with the power to levy tarrifs against China and push our government to promote American manufacturing.1 point

Ford haven't given is a Mustang concept since the S197 was previewed by the stunning concept in 2003. Most commentators that reported on the "progressive energy in strength" sculpture that was shown at the Chinese auto show back in October seem to think it previews S650. I hope so, because it looks gorgeous to me!1 point
