  2. Maybe I knew last January when I ordered mine and forgot, but I didn't realize just reading this now that all Black Labels are standard with 4 wheel drive. Checked the Order Guide, and you are correct.

  3. Really? I think it's far less offensive or boring than most electric gimmick vehicles. Came in expecting to hate it and was pleasantly surprised. Different strokes.

  5. Well of course it's a bad look because Ford's name is on the building. Blame state legislators for protecting dealers with antiquated franchise laws.

  9. Apparently cold does affect wind turbines: https://www.kfyrtv.com/2021/02/17/wind-turbines-affected-by-cold-temperatures/ Needs to be -24F, though to shut them down. South Dakota was only producing 8% of their electric from wind, when it is typically 20% and can be as high as 65%. That’s a huge variation and will require significant investment in over capacity to mitigate the variability. Green power has a ways to go before the technology catches up with traditional electric generating plants for reliability. The first nuclear plants had significant down time too, if I remember correctly. Just takes time to get all the bugs out of the system.

  10. I’m sure your right with it being case by case. I figured if they didn’t want to attempt the order we are good with that at the other dealer. Thanks to every one of these posts I know what to ask for when we go Sat. 1. Do you require a deposit 2. Could I have the DoRA when ordered. 3. Looks like final orders are due by Mar 18 according to schedule sub forum with production runs being in April. 4. It takes 33 hours to build one. Fun fact 5. What is the website to track my order? Asking this so they know I will be checking up to make sure they submitted. 6. Could you adjust my priority code to 10? anyone else have any good questions to ask? All help is much appreciated.

  12. The way I understand it is its not necessarily battery size it's how the system itself functions. A full hybrid utilizes more of the gas engine to power the vehicle whereas a plug-in drives more like a pure electric vehicle where the battery and electric motor(s) do a majority of the work and the gas engine doesn't operate nearly as much. Thats probably a vast oversimplification but hopefully it helps.

  13. The CEO of Generac was on CNBC the other day and said they have a long backlog for their generators, and even longer backlog of having it installed as permits are needed. They are building a 2nd plant in SC, but even then they cannot keep up with demand. Generac also does solar powered generators. Look for all auto companies to copy Ford Powerboost within year or two.

  14. You can choose F350 KR with Tremor package, skip the ultimate option, choose the 1100 LED's and have everything VS Lariat with ultimate and black appearance, its almost the same cost. I wanted to do this, but wife was not a fan of the KR burnt orange interior? So I just ordered the '21 ultimate Lariat, f350 Tremor 6.7 with all options except moonroof, acc, black appearance, I personally feel this is the best compromise and still getting a awesome badd azz truck

  15. Flight Blue exterior with Chalet interior. 80's in Florida... got down to 9 in Texas & New Mexico. 32 here in Idaho right now which is normal... No deal at all and no negotiating . It was the only Gator on the lot. They had sold all of their 2020's and got this one in 4 days earlier. Take it or leave it. Love the vehicle. Ride is awesome and for a cross country road trip cruiser it is perfect for us. My wife drives a 2020 Nautilus and loves it also. We have always been Lincoln fans. I have a 2019 F-150 Raptor which is my favorite Ford truck ever. And I have had a lot of them. Been a Ford guy all my life. I don't know yet what to do with it. Maybe I will sell the Harley which does not get used much these days and keep the Raptor. I love that truck.

  16. Just wait until the enlightened ones start shutting down existing pipelines and refineries since renewable is sooo much better. And central planners have a long track record of success versus a free market (the invisible hand). Better have a couple cords of firewood ready next winter.

  17. Having used those inverters for years and having also used the Ford pro power there is definitely nothing the same about them. First off pro power has the Ability to supply way more power. Next, if you want to use an inverter you either better have the truck running or prepare for a dead battery. Pro power allows the battery to maintain itself and only run the truck as needed. Then 5he ability to control from your cell phone is extremely handy. The clean power is another issue. Sensitive electronics will have no problem with pro power. Anyone claiming a simple invertor will do the same thing has not done any research first.

  18. I know it’s semantics but I hate the term crossover. It’s nothing more than a made up marketing term for SUVs. And the only reason it was made up was when, as a country, we vilified SUVs around the 2007-2008 timeframe. Gas prices spiked and SUVs became evil. So we had to make up a word so the precious little greenies were happy. “These aren’t those evil SUVs, these are crossovers.....very different than SUVs.” That’s when the country started down the toilet ?

  19. I doubt very much that Ford can keep up with demand for even the 2021 F150 let alone the hybrid model since Ford plants are either closed or down to one shift. Many are predicting summer before this changes significantly. Meanwhile, gas prices are up to $2.60 around here and expected to keep increasing making hybrids and plugins more popular. I doubt if Ford has the battery supply chain to keep up with hybrid demand as gas hits $3.00+/gallon. Add in the $2 Trillion stimulus bill and inflation is just around the corner as vaccines damp down covid. Pent up demand is really going to push up demand for everything except Chlorox and toilet paper.

  21. I've read multiple articles that NG, coal, and nuclear systems failure caused more problems than alternative energy. So much for the political bullshit being spread around. Latest article on this came from the Detroit News, a conservative newspaper.

  22. But yet, Iowa generates 40% of electricity from wind turbines, and ours are working fine in colder temps than they have in Texas.

  23. There's also this helpful comparison from my electric coop: In Oklahoma, we are accustomed to extreme summer temperatures. To put this storm in context, keeping a house at 72 degrees when it is -5 degrees outside is equivalent to cooling a house to 72 degrees when it is 149 degrees outside. In short, in this cold, you're comparing trying to maintain a 77*F temperature differential today with trying to maintain a 25-35*F temperature differential in August. That's gonna take a much bigger energy expenditure.

  24. According to SPP, the windmills were actually generating more electricity than they had forecast. They might've been a bigger problem in Texas, though, as Texas has a heck of a lot of wind generation. I think the bigger problem for the SPP states was that the extreme cold caused some of the natural gas wellheads to freeze up, reducing the amount of NG available for electricity production. (It doesn't matter if you have a century's worth of reserves if you can't get them out of the reservoir.) From what I gathered from the SPP press conference today, the problem is that everybody was calling for a lot of electricity everywhere across the SPP members' networks. In the summer you might have a high draw in the southern parts of the grid, but not as much in the northern areas, so it evens out at a lower threshold. It also doesn't help that Covid has more people working from home, so you now have not only a more widely distributed load but also higher than normal individual loads because of the cold--and you haven't necessarily offset that by reducing the loads at schools or places of business and schools.

  25. Allocation is how Ford ensures each dealer gets their fair share of vehicles to sell. Ford has in the past waived their normal allocation process and given customer orders priority and automatic allocation (e.g. Bronco). I think they should do that on all retail (special) orders but I’m not sure the dealers would like that. Ford cannot set transaction pricing - it’s actually against state laws in almost every state. So is selling directly to customers. The only reason Tesla gets away with it is relatively low volume and not much direct competition with normal automobile dealers. Once the normal dealers start to compete directly with Tesla you better believe they will sue Tesla and win. Also you’re talking about a tiny fraction of overall sales so the investment needed by Ford probably wouldn’t pay for itself nor would it have a significant effect on overall customer satisfaction. Great idea from a consumer standpoint but a non-starter for Ford.

  28. Ford is just like most priviliged corporations with there priviliged leadership making feel good statements, what went on in the Nations Capital in May & June 2020 was considered as "Peaceful Protests". The fires, looting and death was all justified as long as Ford rescue units were the responding units, vandelized units and the replacement units ordered. The division is deep, deeper that one side will admit. Although there are some on the one side that admit to seeing the division; Former Democratic presidential candidate from Hawaii, Tulsi Gabbard, said and she warned of a potential “civil war” months ago if the media, Big Tech, and politicians did not stop pushing divisive narratives on the American people. She said the country’s leaders and media companies need to start leading to serve the public’s interests—not their own. Ya think???
