  1. No sweat... I am more concerned about getting what I want. A few weeks or a month now, is easily forgotten in a couple of years. Thank you for all the time you put into this. A lot of your responses are helpful and seen by others than just the poster.

  4. Production constraint is probably a real limiting factor which is why Ford is adding capacity to T6 plants. Toyota has 4 SUVs in the same price/size range: Landcruiser 70, Prado, 4Runner, and Fortuner. Ford had just Everest... so it needed to cover a lot of ground with just one product. I wish Bronco was engineered to sell in RHD countries... Markets like Australia will eat it up.

  5. This antipodean begs to differ, The 92 Falcon XR6 manual equaled the performance of the early Taurus SHO in a larger vehicle. The later BA-BF Falcons were even more powerful with XR6 Turbo and 5.4 DOHC Boss 290 Kw The final FG Falcons came with turbo I-6 and Miami S/C 5.0 DOHC V8.

  8. I've done some house cleaning and consolidation and added in a few new items to take notice of. Please review the items below for changes / updates. 1.) I request that you subscribe to this thread if you haven't already. Click the little button at the top that says "Watch topic". That way I'll get no frantic responses from any of you that don't keep up with this and ask me a million requests when I am gone or on vacation that I have already said I won't be available. You will be automatically notified as long as you have your forum / board settings set up properly. 2.) There are a number of you that have come to this forum for only the purpose of tracking and have in a sense spammed the forums with silly banter in order to fluff up your post count to get in here and demand some tracking action. I would think that if tracking was that important, many of those of you would have read my rules and responded accordingly. I know how you feel ... it is just like Terms of Service agreements or software piracy acknowledgments - you know, those agreements in software programs that scroll on forever that those people ask you to read, but you don't and you just click "agree" anyway to get to quickly click on the next prompt. Humor me and read each and every rule. I ask for a reason and there are so many rule breakers I'm close to my wits end with a lot of you. The rules are here to assist me in helping you - that is it. 3.) If you break a rule, I am no longer going to give you a kind reminder. I am simply just going to ignore your request. If you find you are being ignored, then you did something wrong. Figure it out. Re-read the rules you were supposed to have read in the first place. Then, once you are ready to comply properly, you can re-bump your thread properly. I am not going to respond until you do. 4.) I am sorry, but some of you are taking extreme advantage of my generosity and this free service I offer on my own time. Those that do are ruining it for everyone else. From now on: Absolutely no more than ONE (1) update per tracking thread, per week. I don't care if you are in the process of shipping, or have started production. You plan it out when you want to hear from me, but no more than once per week. I don't care if your lease is expiring and you need to know tracking info so you aren't left without a vehicle. Get a clue - If you are to the point where you need to know where your vehicle is in production because you may/will be left without a vehicle to drive - you have definitely already screwed up and have extremely poor planning that even I can't help you with. 5.) All PMs asking about tracking, information or updates will be deleted no questions asked. I thought this was clear, but apparently it is not. I don't care if you can't figure out how to post in this forum. No PM's about tracking or updates, period! 6.) I am not ignoring you, but at the same time I am not baby sitting your vehicle tracking either. If you want an update, bump your thread. If I haven't gotten to it in a few days, please re-bump - it may have fallen off my list of new updated topics. 7.) If you start to become annoying by wanting timely minute-by-minute updates of any minor thing that happened during your production run or shipment - please stop posting and see your dealer. I am not a service, I do this in what little free time I have because I want to. Please don't make me not want to do this anymore. If you respect my free time, I'll respect your request - it is pretty simple. You don't own me and I don't have to respond. 8.) I have to be at work to do this and I'll typically handle most requests in the morning. Don't ask me for a weekend update because you won't get it. 9.) If I have previously given you an update and in that update there was a specific date listed of something to happen next in the production run, please don't ask me for any more updates until that date has passed. I waste a ton of time with folks wanting updates to production dates I have given you when that date hasn't even happened yet - there won't be any changes. Please be smart about it. 10.) I am not the plant, delivery system, production scheduler or your dealership. Don't ask me to estimate any type of dates or time frame for you, or why things are such and such or taking so long. I can't and won't. There are a million and one variables in what happens with your order - things take as long as they take. 11.) I provide vehicle locator updates - status updates that can be found in your vehicle visibility report. That is it. Don't ask me to provide you with anything other than that, i.e.: no build sheets, no window stickers, no production schedules, no rail car information, no rail car numbers, etc. 12.) Do not make multiple threads for updates. Stick to one thread per VIN / Dealer Code-Order Number for updates. You want to follow a second car you have ordered, make a new thread for that vehicle. Repeat, do not make multiple threads for the same vehicle - even if you've provided incorrect information the first time. Just correct your mis-information in an update to your thread. I will get sick of figuring out which one I need to respond to and just not respond to any of your threads. 13.) I am a human, not an internet robot. I appreciate civility and I enjoy pleases and thank yous. However, please keep the extra chitchat outside of tracking info to a minimum because it helps me sort through threads I haven't upated yet and ones I have. 14.) I do not want anything in return for this. However, after all this work for you, my only payoffs are, 1 - knowing you are happy, and 2 - seeing that final picture of the vehicle I helped you follow for weeks on end. Please don't forget the photo. I love that. 15.) I need a valid VIN, or dealer code and order number to track your order. Please quadruple check the numbers you provide me. I know they are a long string of numbers and letters, but reporting those numbers right the first time will makes us both happier. 16.) When you bump your threads looking for more info, please repost your VIN (or Dealer Codes and Order Number) within your bump. 17.) Do not come here looking for information if you don't have either a VIN or proper, correct Dealer Code AND Order Number. Don't try to give me a Dealer Code with your vehicle description and expect me to find your vehicle. In most cases it is a needle in a haystack. Without both - forget it. If you have your DORA, the Dealer Code and Order Number are both on there, do me a favor and give me both or forget it. Also know this, most dealerships order multiple vehicles -even different types, under the same Order Number, so I will need a description of your vehicle along with your Dealer Code AND Order Number - such as: type, engine, trans, body style, that is it. Don't give me packages or trim levels, those things don't mean squat to me and are not listed in the Visibility Report as trim levels, just a laundry list of options. 18.) I am only a minor admin on this sub-forum, I have no control over how it works and how you get here. I can organize threads and close topics, but I am mostly just a user like the rest of you. Forget all the conspiracy theories of what I am doing to you in why you can't post here or your threads disappearing or whatever related to how the forum works, it is just all B.S.. 19.) If I give you a status and it is Unscheduled-Clean, that means you have a successful order in the system and it isn't currently scheduled for production. When you are in Unscheduled-Clean status I will provide updates no sooner than every two weeks, providing you bump your thread properly. There are a multitude of reasons why something doesn't progress quickly from that status to the line. It has to do with production schedules, plant availability, ordering priority numbers, where you live and that region / dealerships specific allowed allocation segments for that vehicle. I have seen Unscheduled-Clean status stay that way for weeks and weeks on end - even as long as 6 months depending on the availability of what you are ordering and speed of the plant, etc. etc. If you are upset about your vehicle being Unscheduled-Clean for an extended period, you need to work with your salesperson to try to adjust your order priority or find out what period your allocation unit is limited to. 20.) Enjoy yourself. If these updates start making you angry or hostile, or your attitude is making me angry or hostile, please go elsewhere and blow off some steam. Thanks as always. Any comments will be deleted.

  11. Thanks to all for letting me join this group. I ordered an F-150 on June 08, 2021 - even with all of the news around production delays. Growing up we had - a 1972 Gran Torino station wagon, a 1974 Gran Torino four door (my grandmother's), a 1978 Bronco (that I used as a daily driver in HS and used at college), a 1986 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, and a 1991 Mark VII. The Mark VII was the first car I purchased on my own (and paid for on my own).

  12. I was under the impression that was part of the original plan for the U725 program but somewhere along the way it was decided that was either too expensive or they knew MAP was going to be capacity restrained. Maybe it shows up in a few years once the initial demand settles down and they expand to other markets. Or it could turn out that NG Everest is Bronco with a different top hat.

  13. I don't want anything to do with a diesel and the garbage/nightmare the EPA has forced on them. 7.3 with 4.30 gears will pull anything I need it to pull in the next 10 years. Maybe if I was getting rid of it before warranty ran out, but not something I will eventually have to maintain and fix.

  14. 41% of Baltimore high schoolers have a GPA below 1.0 "How is this possible? Perhaps it’s because Baltimore is a relatively impoverished area and it’s schools aren’t receiving the resources necessary to make better outcomes possible." Wait.... that`s not the case, at all. The facts are, Baltimore has the 3rd highest spending per pupil in the nation.... from May 2019 report. Tax, Tax, Tax and Education, Education, Education is all you hear from one side of the isle. Then that side of the isle`s henchmen or henchperson`s the union leaders of the teachers keep saying they can`t be held accountable for what pupils learn. The old tired saying, "you can bring them to class but you can`t makum learn nuttin" . 41% getting less than a "D" is the results of this mindset craziness... Wonder why we don`t hear any GPA coming from the Chicago`s union leaders of the CPSD teachers? The sheepies are dumbed down and have no clue how they got there.

  16. From San Diego Here! Well I’ve made my order for a new Tremor Lariat Ultimate F250 7.3L. I’ve added some extra goodies but really looking forward to Adaptive Cruise, Ventilated Seats, LED lights. I’m interested in the discussions of Tremor Package, photos of other trucks, Ford production and my order status, the tunes and turbo adds to the 7.3L and really looking to see how, why or if to do any of these types of mods? What does or does not do to your warranty and what type of success have you had fighting or working with your dealers? I was a bigJeep Wrangler Overlander before it was cool and made some epic trips such as a trip to the Gros Ventre Wilderness for the Solar Eclipse and North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I have now journeyed into the Airstream life with my wife, daughter at age 3 and my two goofy boxers Ziggy and Zoey. Realizing that safety and responsible towing is a must with the family in tow and the exercise expanding of camping luxurious to haul along. I’m currently in a 2019 F 150 and looking forward to the extra truck as I continue my voyage down road. cheers to everyone and Hello! - MooseTremor

  18. Agreed. I think the F-150 Diesel was added just to have a diesel and be competitive. There was price resistance which I though was overblown and availability was limited to the higher trim models. Then factor in the low sales for the diesel and the introduction of the new F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid with its performance and there was just little reason to continue offering the diesel option.

  24. I followed up with my dealer, and two things are holding my order up. 1. adaptive steering 2. black onyx interior. Interior surprises me, and what I told my salesman, if the interior restriction gets lifted, and we don't have status on adaptive steering, we'll delete that option from the order. It was an option very low on my list anyway.

  27. While "Late Availability" options are listed in the vehicle order guides, information on commodity issues/restraints comes from several sources including weekly scheduling notes and weekly commodity reports sent via e-mail from the regional offices. Another source is the AM Preview Scheduling Report that is updated Tuesday - Thursday. The WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system also generates error notices that may also include current commodity restraints. The CONCEPS ordering system generates the same information as WBDO but CONCEPS is now used almost exclusively for fleet orders. There's duplication, to a degree, between the sources for commodity information but no single source that can be relied on requiring interpretation at times along with years of experience dealing with Ford's processes, etc. So, unfortunately, there's no simple answer. And yes, it can be very frustrating at times at the dealership level trying to figure out what the situation is regarding option availability for scheduling.

  31. Good news from the dealer! It arrived via railcar on Wednesday. However, we're not sure when it will arrive at the dealer for us to take delivery. The order tracking site says 21 July but that's 2 weeks from when it arrived in the city, so I'm guessing sooner.

  32. Subassemblies. That is the fatal flaw with this "American Made" index. It completely screws up the calculation and allows OEM's to manipulate the data. The domestic automakers have lobbied for years to fix this loophole in the AALA but they haven't gotten it done. (Southern legislators who cater to foreign automakers fight it, warning everyone that if they get rid of the loophole foreign companies like to exploit so much it'll be harder to get future investment from them.) Here is how it works. Traditionally, suppliers ship parts to a final assembly plant and the value of those parts is binned into foreign or domestic content, accordingly. Simple, right? Then some of the foreign automakers learned how to exploit the loophole in the system: Subassemblies. Here is how it works: - They can ship a hundred foreign parts to a building across the street from their assembly plant. (Think of things like instrument panels, wheel and tire assemblies, seats, under-hood components, etc.) - Those parts are then assembled "offsite" into a complete module, like an instrument panel. - So instead of a 100 individual foreign parts being shipped into the final assembly plant, the single instrument panel, with it's own unique "end-item" part number, is shipped into that plant. - Because that "end-item" part was assembled on US soil, the entire value of that part can be considered 100% domestic, even though none of the parts that make it up actually come from North America. It's a complete joke. The Tundra, in particular, is one model that does exactly that. The "real" domestic content was closer to 25% on that vehicle. They inflated the heck out of it with subassemblies. (I know this because I was a program manager on F-150 at one time, and was involved in vehicle teardowns of the Tundra and others so we knew EXACTLY where those parts came from.) Look at the attached photo. Note how the Ford plant is basically one big plant with skyways to the paint and body buildings. That's all you have there. Conversely, look at the Toyota plant and all the buildings surrounding that plant. Those are subassembly parks and they ship all kinds of foreign parts into those buildings and get subassemblies built there. Not only does that help trick the system in regards to domestic content percentages, but they also save a little labor because Tier 2 subassemblers make less than factory OEM line workers. Here is a link to one of those subassemblers in San Antonio: About - Avanzar Ford Toyota Plant Comparison.pdf

From there I bought a 2005 6l also single cab and proceeded overhaul the motor to make it reliable. A few years back I picked up my current 2011 6.7 crew cab lariat, absolutely love the 6.7 platform and the stars aligned this year allowing me to order a new 2022 F350 Platinum 6.7. Thermostat, plugs, rear brakes and bearings, tranny cooler, oil, filters and windshield. Joined this forum as I'm now troubleshooting the A/C and am sure theres gonna be more Ford specific fixes in the future. Impressed with the smooth tranny.. Back in the "olden days" 50s,60sand 70s there was a big difference between the brands, especially styling. I liked Chevy and Gm, Now you have to look for the Logos to tell the Fords from the Chevys and Kias.

  38. If I had a Nickle every time someone parrot this fake news talking point, I'd have enough money to buy a Tesla. The grid is fine. I work in the energy sector... it's our job to know if the grid is going to collapse and news flash: it is not This is the same as asking what happens to the sewer system if everyone in the city flash the toilet at the same time. First, it is not a real problem. Second, the grid doesn't work like the way you think it does... just because you plug in a bunch of EV, it doesn't overwhelm the grid. There is redundancy everywhere and we are building more storage capacity all the time. Third, the vast majority of EV do and will charge off peak. Fourth, the increase in EV is going to be graduate on a grid scale; we are not increasing throughput by 30% today or tomorrow. A few % increase in off peak draw is nothing to worry about. And lastly, we've done this before, many times. You should see the hand wringing from people back when prediction for adoption curve of refrigerators and air conditioning showed the grid is going to collapse. Nothing like that happened. Nothing like that ever happens because smart people are doing their job instead of spewing nonsense on cable new channel and fake news websites that are dedicated to ignore science and ridicule smart people.

  39. This is all meaningless when ford cant get the materials it needs to build the trucks. Thats what is causing all the issues this year. There is a Global shortage of microchips among other things. Also huge backlogs in international shipping with massive delays at almost every major port. Its a complex economic perfect storm we are in right now, and ford is along for the ride just like everyone else.

  40. I didn’t say that all EVs are bad. Hybrids work Just not a good business model for an entire brand (Lincoln) to be 100% electric. If you want one, buy one. The technology is still flawed after many years of development. Still very expensive and take a long time to charge (3-16 hours). If I drive across the country in a regular car, I stop about every 400 miles for gas and fill my tank in 5 minutes. For an electric vehicle, only the best models allow you to reach 400 miles and then you have to sit at a charging station charging for 3 hours (level 2) or even 16 hours (level 1) to fill up. Last, how much was the government rebate for EVs right now to make them semi-purchaseable? $7,500, and that doesn’t include the expensive cost of charging stations. If you want a vehicle to only drive back and forth to work, then an EV may be a good fit. Hybrids work as a good alternative, but I still like gas better.

  42. Yes sir, no new car or light truck sold in the U.S. market today is 100% American when all things are considered. However, car buyers who think "Buy American" is important should do the following. Identify products from U.S. companies that meet your wants and needs Next, narrow down the list to products that were primarily designed and engineered in the U.S. As a tiebreaker, use assembly location and parts content information from the Cars.com American-Made Index
