  1. I'm happy to announce that my '22 F-350 Lariat that was released for shipment on 7/21, arrived at my dealership today!! ?

  2. I thought it might be nice for some of you Guy's and Gal's that are starting to receive your new trucks to post pics as you get them, so the rest of us can live vicariously through you while we wait for ours to arrive :))

  3. Once it arrives at the final rail destination it has to be unloaded from the rail car and transferred to the car carrier company's database for dispatch. The car carrier firms know in advance what vehicles are in transit for them to haul. Once the vehicle arrives, it's dispatched and assigned to a load on a carrier for delivery to the dealership. Vehicles are usually at the ramp for an average of 3 days before being loaded on carriers for delivery but that time can vary depending on how long it takes to fill a load with vehicles headed to dealerships in the same general area. The carrier firms send dealerships a "Pre-Delivery Notice" of vehicles being loaded for delivery which is within 24 hours of the notice. Most often, the vehicle will be delivered within hours of the "Pre-Delivery Notice". As such, there's really no tracking to be done once the vehicle arrives at the Ramp.

  4. Mine started out with 18 to 28 days shipping by rail. Took 5 days just to go 130 to Indiana... now it's on the move to Missouri. I am hoping things pick up the pace but then again it's down to 10 to 20 days now. Six months without a truck has been hard.

  5. Yes sir ANTAUS. It's no surprise, as the Lincoln brand has a much better reputation in China than in the U.S. Also, Chinese Lincoln dealers are almost all standalone. These dealers are much nicer in terms of the physical facilities than American Lincoln dealers, many if not most of which are combined with Ford dealer locations.

  7. Congrats to all those who are getting there trucks finally. It's good to see things moving along at least

  8. I wouldn't compromise on what I wanted unless there was some real need to do so. All of these trucks are expensive, best to wait a little longer for what you want because as you mention, there was a reason you ordered it that wat to begin with. Good Luck

  9. Hand washing & polishing a vehicle is good exercise. I applied 303 Graphine Nano Spray shortly after delivery of my 2021 Ranger. They say it works best after removing old wax which I did by hand washing the truck with Dawn Ultra dish soap. The Graphine should be applied in a thin coat, and it looks horrible out of the bottle: a grey goo with a strong petroleum smell, but it really works. I used a microfiber cloth for both application and wipe-off and it's good on everything: glass, wheels, neoprene, rubber, plastic etc. I followed up after a couple days with Adam's Detail Spray which really brought out a wet look shine and a very smooth finish- and has a strawberry scent! It has been about twelve weeks since I applied both and water is beading up well.

  13. Once your truck is scheduled you will get a vin number and can track in on fords website with that. Until you have a vin you need to rely on your dealer or cyberdman in the Vehicle tracking page on this forum. Currently they arent doing any more scheduling until August 12th.

  15. But with Diesel you also get DPF, DEF, Double fuel filters, DEF tanks, DEF pumps, and Regens, not to mention all the extra stuff under the hood. ?

  16. Well you don't have to drink the diesel...

  17. I wouldn't expect the inventory to increase much for a while as many vehicles will be sold as soon as they show up on the lot.

  19. Still waiting to see if Ford's chip shortage is improving. Not finding much evidence of it yet. Mullinax seemed to have a little better inventory in July than June, but not very significant. If Mullinax can improve its inventory 20% in August, then that is good sign.

  20. You guys basing your purchase decision on spark plug count obviously should have gone diesel! ?

  22. I just received my window sticker and my F350 XLT CC LB with a premium package is in shipment. The window sticker says the productivity screen is only 4.2”. It clearly stated that it was 8” when I ordered the truck in may. anybody else with an XLT have this discrepancy? Thanks in advance.

  24. Mine said shipped on the 22nd, but as of yesterday, was in IL. I will make the assumption that "shipped" doesn't exactly mean it's actually moving.

  25. Same here....in this market they had probably just as soon you back out. they will just jack up the price and put in on the lot and probably make more off of it than they had agreed to sell it to you for.

  26. That means should be there in 6days.

  27. There are a couple of "de-rate" GVWR packages when you order. If you do not select one of these you get the door stickers with the full GVWR which is dependent on the model you choose. 14k is normal for a dually, 12,400 normal for a 350 srw diesel, 10,800 for an f250 high capacity. There are various reasons for selecting a derate option, pretty much all political. Either a state law about licensing, state insurance regulation, state registration laws. It doesn't change the actual truck but allows owners to skirt these legalities legally so to speak. It is important to know your local regulations and insurance requirements when ordering. It is also important to be honest about your intended use and your personal comfort level if you intend to load the truck up beyond the stickered rating. Some will not haul their RV if it is over the stickered numbers as they believe there is a risk or potential legal consequence to this. If you haul commercially the rules are different yet and you are likely to be checked. The insurance company and local DMV know what your GVWR is by the VIN. So IF you choose a derate package understand the advantages and disadvantages to doing so. Likewise if you choose an F350, dually or F450. You may end up with costs and restrictions you did not anticipate when on the quest to meet the sticker numbers to haul your load. My derated F350 will keep me under CDL requirements and lower my registration costs. I personally do not care what the sticker says or if I exceed it some, nobody will ever actually weigh it but me, and I do not subscribe to the idea of "legal ramifications" should I be over the stickered number hauling an RV. Do your research, make your choices. I love that Ford offers me the option to have a 10k rated F350.

  28. I liked this tidbit... "Sales in the Chinese market rose 24% in the quarter, as deliveries more than doubled for its Lincoln luxury line. Ford sold nearly twice as many Lincolns in China in the quarter as it did in the U.S."

  29. I don't work on the Ranger side of the plant anymore but I will say this, if no 2021s have them then it was probably deleted for some reason.

  30. I have a Keystone Cougar 316 RLS, according to the brochure: Dry - 10,436 Gross - 12,300 Hitch - 1,900 Last time I went over a scale (this june on a 4000 mile trip) the hitch weight was 2,500 and there was very little in the basement. I will tell you that with my 2016 F250 there was absolutely nothing else in the bed and it was me, my wife, teenage daughter and a 40 lb dog in the cab. I had cleaned everything unnecessary out of the truck to try and save weight. I was under on the individual axle weights, but 800 pounds over my 10,000 GVWR. The 6.7 in the truck pulled that trailer like a dream even through the mountains in Yellowstone and Colorado, However, not once did we run into bad weather or have to panic stop. Though you will probably get plenty of people telling you that you will be fine, you might want to consider going to a 350. I would rather have excess capacity, would like to actually put some stuff in the bed of the truck, and live in an area of the country where DRW is not much of a hinderance - I have a 8/16 build week for a 450. Also means when my wife wants a bigger fiver I don't have to get another new truck.

  31. I previously used Meguiars Ultimate Liquid as well. Excellent gloss but only fair durability as you mentioned. Last year, I gave Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wax Spray Coating a try. It's almost as glossy as Meguiars Ultimate Liquid but the real appeal is durability. I'm been getting 6-7 months of beading in North Texas spring and summer weather, more than twice as long as what I got with the Meguiars Ultimate. As a bonus, the Hybrid Solution Ceramic Wax Spray coating is easier to apply, as its a spray on, wipe off type product. The combination of durability and ease of application is great. Price is very reasonable, about $12-15 for a 16 ounce bottle.

  32. "Natural immunity " hmm not hearing much about that... The percentages are fact based data but... that won`t put the sheepies all bunched up and shaking so can`t have that hit the Controlled News Network. But this is a good read and puts a smile on any sheep dogs face. "Stop the Fearmongering: Johns Hopkins Doctor Shreds Latest COVID Madness Peddled by CDC and Fauci" "The news about the U.S. Covid pandemic is even better than you’ve heard. (or read) Some 80% to 85% of American adults are immune to the virus: More than 64% have received at least one vaccine dose and, of those who haven’t, roughly half have natural immunity from prior infection. There’s ample scientific evidence that natural immunity is effective and durable, and public-health leaders should pay it heed." "Only around 10% of Americans have had confirmed positive Covid tests, but four to six times as many have likely had the infection. A February study in Nature used antibody screenings in late summer 2020 to estimate there had been seven times as many actual cases as confirmed cases. A similar study, by the University of Albany and New York State Department of Health, revealed that by the end of March 2020—the first month of New York’s pandemic—23% of the city’s population had antibodies. That share necessarily increased as the pandemic spread." "Natural immunity is durable. Researchers from Washington University in St. Louis reported last month that 11 months after a mild infection immune cells were still capable of producing protective antibodies. The authors concluded that prior Covid infection induces a “robust” and “long-lived humoral immune response,” leading some scientists to suggest that natural immunity is probably lifelong. Because infection began months earlier than vaccination, we have more follow-up data on the duration of natural immunity than on vaccinated immunity." "Skeptics of natural immunity point to Manaus, capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, where reports in January suggested a wave of re-infections despite herd immunity. But the initial estimate of those infected was incorrect because it was based on antibody testing among those who donated convalescent plasma—an unrepresentative subgroup of the population. A follow-up study debunked the re-infection hypothesis and found only three confirmed re-infections in the entire state, whose population exceeds four million. Other studies have confirmed that re-infections are rare and usually asymptomatic or mild." "Some health officials warn of possible variants resistant to natural immunity. But none of the hundreds of variants observed so far have evaded either natural or vaccinated immunity with the three vaccines authorized in the U.S." "Should the previously infected be vaccinated? My clinical advice to healthy patients with natural immunity is that one shot is sufficient, and maybe not even necessary, although it could increase the long-term durability of immunity. A University of Pennsylvania study of people previously infected with Covid found that a single vaccine dose triggered a strong immune response, with no increase in that response after a second dose. A separate study from New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine concluded that “the antibody response to the first vaccine dose in individuals with pre-existing immunity is equal to or even exceeds the titers found in naïve”—never-infected—“individuals after the second dose.” "Dr. Fauci said last Aug. 13 that when you have fewer than 10 cases per 100,000, “you should be able to open up safely and clearly.” The U.S. reached that point in mid-May. It’s time to stop the fear mongering and level with the public about the incredible capabilities of both modern medical research and the human body’s immune system." "Now, that is a breath of fresh air, right? Sadly, Dr. Makary is sidelined on most networks in favor of pro-lockdown and pandemonium ‘experts’ who are peddling an agenda where we may never be allowed to go outside again. This is the cost of the ‘COVID ZERO’ approach. Everything can get you so…just live inside, which ironically is where this virus thrives. Most cases are from household spread, not gyms, restaurants, bars, hair salons, or barbershops. For those who have recovered from COVID, Makary said his “clinical advice to healthy patients with natural immunity is that one shot is sufficient, and maybe not even necessary, although it could increase the long-term durability of immunity.” "I got vaccinated post-recovery. It was my choice, but the vaccinated coupled with those who have recovered from the virus, which is in the tens of millions, should be considered. It isn’t. the vaccines work against the variants, as do people who have acquired natural immunity from it. Both are effective." "If the government wants to boost vaccine rates, then all attention should be focused on proper science-based messaging to convince the unvaccinated. You cannot do that when you a) fearmonger, b) shame, and c) offer contradictory advice. The vaccinated should be viewed as an example of what awaits, which is a return to normalcy. Get the shot, but still mask up and remain in the bunker give no incentive whatsoever to those on the fence. It doesn’t take a scientist to know why vaccine rates have stalled. It’s the experts’ continued failure to message about the vaccine properly since they decided to get political. The jobs reports are bad. Inflation is rising. No major bills seem poised for passage from the Biden administration, so rehash the panic over Delta to keep the nation’s attention away from a presidency that is rather brain dead."

  33. I'll see your current environment in the nursing field and raise you a career in law enforcement. Think your co-workers are in crappy moods? That said, I'd absolutely take both an F350 or Ram 3500 over anything Chevy kicks out right now. And my last 3 1/2 tons have been Chevys. Love their half tons, wouldn't touch their 1 tons for hauling hot shot. A horse trailer or 5th wheel every now and then? Sure. 100k/miles a year hauling hot shot? Not a chance.

  38. Please do a little research on this. These trucks are designed to slow the vehicle and load with the motor and trans. The brakes alone will not live up to the task. You are not going to hurt the motor or trans by driving the truck properly and it will be a hell of a lot safer for you and your family!

  40. Stray Kay, you are right on in what you have said! Good engineers can come up with very compromised designs when the basic assumptions are wrong or miscalculated. the Conentental fwd 4.6 V8 was not that good and volumes did not justify 100 mm bore centers for truck, mustang and crown Victoria. we started down the wrong road with GM switching basically everything to front wheel drive! Roger Smith thought everything should be fwd! Then we got fwd torque steer, throttle body injection and more!. Now everything is going electric but it may make more sense to use cars and trucks with IC engines to clean the air as they pass thru it!, something like a catalytic radiator? over the years, I have had vehicles with the following engines: 352fe 390fe 255, 351W, 231V6, 305, 2.6MMC, 318, 360chrysler, 2.4, 3.0V6, 360amc, 454, 350 Chevy, 364 Chevy, 4.6 doc Cadillac, 4.6doc Buick, 5.4 ford, 3.5 ford, 3.0 ford, 1.6ecboost, 1.5 ecoboost, 2.0 ecoboost and current 2.3 ecoboost. out of all these vehicles, the Galaxie 352fe , the suburban 454, the Seville 4.6 and the Explorer 2.3 ecoboost ran the best! I have learned over the last 45 years, have a backup! Maybe the 6.8 is part of the backup plan? edselford

  41. Agreed...downshifting and letting the engine/tans is a must sometimes. Guess I really was not thinking when I made that comment, but I do try to use brakes more than winding engine out on a 7%. You know that guy in the pickup and trailer that is putzing down the mountain at slug speed in the right hand lane behind the 18 wheelers...That's me? ITS GREAT...! The wife mutes her version of backseat auto drive collision alert commenting and the kids.....well.....that don't care or even realize anyway because their noses buried in those darn tablets.?
