Its like saying I could play golf as good as John Rahm....3 points

I think akirby was referring to GM's sales leadership for full size BOF SUVs, not sales leadership for cars/trucks overall. GM's full size BOF SUVs have been consistently good products and one of them, Chevrolet Suburban, is the longest continuously used automotive nameplate in the U.S.2 points

I noticed on Thursday on my way home Crest Ford in Flat Rock suddenly had a lot more on their lot beyond the 2 Mustangs and 1 Transit Connect that have been sitting there for a few weeks. Lots of Escapes, a few Edges, a few F-150s and the Bronco Demo unit they've had on display.1 point

It will be big hit. Most people don't give a shit about 0-60 times unless they are out of the norm. And 300 hp is more than acceptable.1 point

I really like the contrasting red stitching throughout the interior. Really makes a difference. Ford should offer that on all their models like Subaru offers the orange stitching on all their models. The red looks even better. Takes your eyes off any cheap plastic.1 point

Ranger was for 2019 but that was replaced for 2020/21. I think maybe Escape currently has it but I can't remember for sure.1 point

Those two mid sized vehicles will definitely be covered by Oakville using VW’s MEB architecture (maybe that RWD Edge body development won’t go to waste after all if switched to the BEV top hat)1 point

I don’t know why this is so hard for people to understand. We’ll get there in a few years, just not now.1 point

I come home and look at the camper in the yard and think...man it would be nice to be up on the blue ridge parkway right now!1 point

That is the issue for me. We will be trading in my wife’s Edge next year. It’s the car we use when we take vacations. So, we won’t consider a BEV. Ten years from now, I expect we will choose a BEV. But currently, the inconvenience of a BEV on a long trip isn’t worth the hassle.1 point

So now the CDC recommends older people even if vaccinated avoid cruises due to the risk of infection. Chicago has an indoor mask mandate for all vaccinated or not. Any doubt it is about control and restriction of movement? If the Bad Orange man were still in office, and this vaccine is so poor in infection control, we would have "Operation Warp Speed II" well underway. Fauci would be on Martha's Vineyard adjusting Obama's beach chair and Biden would still be in the basement with an ice cream cone.1 point

The iron block 7.3 is about a hundred pounds heavier than an all aluminium Coyote. EB in a SD doesn’t work in a heavy duty truck or Van because it would be under constant boost and richer mixtures, that’s an area where a big capacity engine makes more fuel efficient mid range power and torque. Even towing like 9,000 lbs, a 5.0 F150 is more fuel efficient than the EB35, V8s are still needed.1 point

The two tunes is probably cheaper to do than offering two engine capacities. I still think that the 6.8 is a HP designator like 429 vs 460 and will be reserved for limited high end use. I don’t see it replacing the 5.0 coyote which now has cylinder deactivation……1 point

But would they make a 6.8L with iron and aluminum block. Not likely. And unlike the 6.2L which lived in F150 and SD for 4 year overlap I don't think they will put an iron block in a F150 today. Too heavy. And aluminum block in a SD would melt like butter in Az summer. Would never handle the tougher SD durability testing. Same reason no EB in a SD or a 6.2L gm in a gm HD.1 point

I do agree a lot of it is mindset, and that for a lot of people, an EV would be just fine for normal driving. Trips are the bigger thing in that regard - yes you'd like to stretch/stop/eat on longer legs, but as others have pointed out, it's an assumption to hope that there are chargers near where you want to go that work/are available, etc. Long term it'll all get there, but now the infrastructure isn't there yet for everyone to switch fully yet, IMO. Whether it's a mindset issue or not.1 point

It's a shame Ford let Navigator and to a lesser extent Expy rot on the vine for as long as they did, losing headway they had made in the market years ago.1 point

3,000 miles on my Mach-E. Have paid less than $60 to charge. Rarely charge at home. Zero issues charging when on the road.1 point

could start a whole forum discussion on linking to printers. I finally had much more success locking the printer to a specific address. Even then, sometimes a computer will refuse to connect, or even the printer will refuse to connect to the router. Power cycling will generally fix that, but what a PITA!1 point

We are getting an Artic Fox 27-5L. Overall length is 29'9". Found this model and mfg strictly by accident. F350D won't hardly blink at that unit While we probably exceeded GVWR in the prior travel trailer, me thinks the boss is going to have a hard time overloading this unit. We are also having the suspension ripped out and independent suspension installed with disc brakes.1 point

I think with 300 mile ranges and overnight charging and $30k pricing and more utilities and trucks we’re at the point where a lot of people will consider a BEV as a second or third vehicle if they can charge at home. That could get sales up to 20%-25%. To get beyond that will require lower prices and easier faster public charging,1 point

So far, there is no proof that consumers will buy BEV's in great numbers. Most that have bought BEV's are upper income that want to go green.....limited numbers. Looks like Mach E will top out in 3,000-5,000 range. The Lightning will probably do better if Ford's supply chain can do better. But even there ICE rules.1 point

ice-capades is spot on. Like any slice of any group be it accountants, doctors, contractors, dealerships, whatever, there are some who are contentious, shoot straight, and good at what they do and then there are others not so much. My dealer submitted order for 2022 F250 July 9. I received an email from Ford that day with a build window week of August 23 and a VIN number. Today I checked the tracker and the truck is in production at Kentucky plant, one week early. Ford included a link to the window sticker. Cannot lie I feel quite fortunate after hearing some of the other stories on this forum and feel for you. And yes I am pretty excited. Love the posts about Grand Design. Been looking for about 6 months and will be honing in on some candidates soon after the truck arrives. Probably a late model Solitude. Correction: The old floppy disc ain't what it used to be. Just went back to check emails and first one from Ford was just order confirmation. Got a second email July 20 with VIN and link to vehicle tracker.1 point

If the Lincoln vehicle you ordered is a model in its 2nd or later model year, it's more likely that the vehicle will have good build quality and reliability compared to getting one in its 1st model year. Good luck with the Lincoln you ordered SzymekSmark sir!1 point
