  1. I said it before and I will say it again. Ford screwed up by making Maverick a regional product like they did with Puma. This truck is going to have worldwide appeal. Pickup truck is now the fastest growing vehicle segment in China (!) for example due to Govt policy change that now allow pickup trucks to be driven in urban areas. Maverick will effectively replace EcoSport in North America... would have been interesting to see how it does as entry level Ford in other places.

  2. Good thing they have very competitive F150, F150 Lightning, Transit, E-Transit, Transit Connect, F250 and F350s.

  3. It's one thing to increase subsidies to encourage BEV vehicle sales. It's another to make any incentives conditional on being assembled by union labor at U.S. plants. The government has no business in blatantly making union labor an incentive condition or the Democrats using it as an attempt to buy votes.

  4. Horizontally it occupies the front 13" of the bed. Vertically it occupies the top 12" of the bed and has about 10" of vertical space underneath.

  9. In the world we live in, there seems to be a never ending stream of complaints and disappointment everywhere. This letter is neither. In March of this year, I made a decision to come back to Ford and buy what I have wanted for several decades, but never quiet saw the design or end product that met my needs. When Ford introduced the last year of the fourth generation Superduty (2022), I knew this was when I needed to buy. Sadly, the chip shortage was about to hit with full force and want and need were about to meet supply chain issues. Hoping that this was not going to be as bad as it has become, I traded in my truck and ordered my 350. To me this wasn't any 350, but one that captures what I have always wanted. I ordered an F350 Lariat Crew Cab Dually with the 7.3 gas motor. From the day I heard Ford was going to introduce this motor, there was a course set out for my having this truck. I picked all my options that I could possible want, got the color and interior I had hoped for and executed the contract. Gone was my old truck and now we waited. Time ticked by and with each week the supply chain faced new issues after new issues... but my dealer kept me updated and we kept our fingers crossed. Finally a production notice was given and my truck had a build date. My truck was built on the second day of production of the new 2022s...5 weeks later I had my truck. Since that day, I have been amazed at every aspect of the truck, its quality, comfort, design and execution. Like anything, there will be those who have issues and toss stones at Ford. I have not seen one of those with this truck. I am amazed at the power, torque, fuel economy and overall performance this truck delivers. I have alway been someone who finds things to modify, upgrade or change to gain just that much more performance out of my rigs. This truck is a first in 40+ years... there is absolutely nothing I want to change on it at all. Ford truly knocked it out of the ballpark. Why would people dream of changing the billet wheels? Why lift it, level it or do anything that changes it from how it looks or performs? Many have their own reasons and it makes them happy... but for me, Ford found perfection and everyday I drive my truck, every road trip we take or adventure we have had in this truck. We just can't help commenting on how much we love our truck. This letter is simply my way of saying thank you for making and delivering a perfect truck to our home.

  10. Two more reassuring statements and actions from our leaders 1) Fauci: No ‘Firm Answer’ on Why Americans Who Recovered From COVID-19 Should Get Vaccinated. 2) USPS = 650,000 plus employee`s don`t have the same risk`s of the Chinese Flu as other American work forces?

  12. Hi all, New member, beeen lurking for a while, finally decided to join the party. Ordered a 250 on July 29th, confirmed that day. Lariat, 4x4 CC short bed, Oxford White, Baja tan, 7.3. Last new truck was 2014. Didn’t anticipate this but I am really getting excited about it, and can’t do a thing about it except obsessively surf the forums ?

  15. One example is gasoline for North America and diesel for ROW. At some point, hybrid will arrive and grab sales in both markets. Loving the squarer filled out profile of the new Ranger, it should go a long way towards converting a lot of fence sitters driving mid sized utilities, pushing sales higher.

  19. Unless I am mistaken about the vehicle in question (your dealer's other vehicle, VIN ending in 18864), it had a blend date of 26 August. 21 August could have been when the window sticker was initially generated prior to production. Per the JCT site (palsapp.com), it looks like this vehicle was "Dispatched on Sep 10 2021." If you use the Lincoln order tracking site with this VIN and the order number (found on the window sticker beneath "CONVOY"), it shows a status of "SHIPPED" with an expected delivery date of 15 September.

  20. Thing I'm curious-is how can it be stolen with a PATS key? I get it can be put on a flat bed or something, but how do you operate it without a key?

  23. Every one calm down. Ford is just adjusting their assembly lines and supply lines for the reality that, instead of 60% eco and 30% hybrid they need to produce just the opposite. Just looking on the Maverick Truck Club site the ratio is 30% eco and 60% hybrid . This simply means that Ford needs to get more engines eCVT and batteries, to the assembly plant, which could take a few weeks. Once the parts are at the assembly plant we should see production changing and more hybrid being built. This could happen to any company in the world. I think that hybrid is going to be the new norm. Full electric is still inconvenient, due to the time it takes to charge batteries. When they get the charging issue taken care of I think that electric vehicles will be the norm. When you think of it trains have been using a hybrid system since the 1950"s. ie. Trains use a diesel engine that connects to a generator/alternator that supplies the traction motors with the power to move the train. This system is the most efficient in the world for moving large amounts of goods cross country. I think people are seeing how efficient that gas/diesel engine, generator/alternator, and electric motors are, and with the global warming, are looking for alternatives to the gas guzzler. So hang in there, we will all get our hybrid truck. Ford is making adjustments for this new market, and made a bad choice. Who hasn"t done that.

  24. I'm addressing both comments in one reply. I'm not disagreeing with the thought that more could have been done. But I will push back some - I wonder if Ford was also hesistant to launch too many new things in this wiht the state of chips and whatnot? i.e. maybe they had some more things planned but pulled back in an effort to keep things in production? As I also said before, if there's a year shorter timeline for replacement, it also makes sense they didn't change too much. One thing I will push back more heavily on is the MB comparison - the pictures above are all new vehicles - the S-class and hideous EQS - an unfair comparison to a refreshed Navigator. The outgoing S-class went from 2014-2020, and its refresh included new headlight and taillight graphics, a new lower front bumper, and a new steering wheel. So let's not pretend they swapped out the entire interior or something for a refresh. GM doesn't even refresh the SUVs, they just wait for a redesign. Again, I'm agreeing more could have been done, but from the manufacturing side of it, I understand the potential reasons for not doing more, even if others can't.

  25. There are plenty of reasons but you don’t want to hear them so let’s move along please.

  26. Perhaps just trying to keep the product fresh in a segment they've determined is critical? The opposite of what they did leaving it to rot for years. And if you think about it, 2018-2024 is 6 model years, so we just got the refresh a year late if following a 6-year cycle. Take it how you will, but Borg says there's going to be the next-gen ICE/hybrid for '24 AND an EV version a year or two later.

  27. to say its unexpected given all the crazy peripheral circumstances, would be rather unwise no?....I don't think there will be a faultless release by ANY manufacturer for some time...
