  1. Actually I believe we have some time before all the mandates and pressure will be lumped on our plates, here in the land of Lincoln. Do I think the IUAW will roll with the company, sure do. Will we have many members with every good reason to be pushed to the limits they have to set for themselves and their families, that is their freedom, we all have to make that decision. I am completely in support of every member that makes the decision to jab or not to jab. For those "moderator please"... members?" that is in no way sitting the fence, no its the freedom of choice so many fought for. May be hard for some to understand that. road turtle I agree completely. Ford is testing the water and will do just as you mentioned. Our local rep`s will be put under the bus by the IUAW and we will see all the games played by all of the above. When, Who and What will all be answered by the first quarter of next year. When or if a dead line is given, Who will go first hourly or salaried. What plants shut down because of the mandates. Shutting down will be multiple sided, get the jab and play the system--> medical leave. Don`t get the jab and Ford loses something the company just doesn`t have any to spare... employee`s that come to work. Managers leave at break and lunch to never return at CAP---> daily. So I`m sure those big wheels are doing some real contemplating the results from their falling into their servitude to the controlling leaders. You could bet the farm Prickster is pushing his rich guy control freakiness right at Larry`s front door in the city of the White Sox. But all this will take time. Bottom line, is why ford exists and why we go in everyday. Our reasons to work are as diverse as our reasons to be jabbed or not to be jabbed. For those that put a political spin on this and other facts our country is going through some extremely weird time just for their tribe factor reasoning, are just making "their choice". Is it my choice no, do I feel those that do put it out there that "theirs" is the only and right way all I can agree with is once again it`s their choice. Do they have to agree with my chose, no. By those laws put in place 200 plus years ago I think the "moderato please" members will have to agree to disagree, ANNND find a majority to vote as needed in a little more than a year. fmccap don`t get ready for much of a down time, orders keep rolling in and remember it`s all about the bottom line. GREAT info fmccap, better believe the Prickster is freakin out on this silly little law.

  2. Decker, You have to give employees a chance to meet your new requirements. Ford is doing the same thing, they put out the survey to identify how big their problem is. If it's acceptably low enough, then the next step is to force employees to be vaxxed by a certain date or face dismissal. Friend's employer in Ontario Canada, you either get the vax or be on indefinite suspension. This means they cannot collect unemployment and won't collect pay. Since I'm at will employee, they will discharge me for cause, meaning no unemployment. Courts have been pretty consistent in enforcing mandatory vax for employees... even SCOTUS. What might be an interesting argument, the jab is technically not a vaccine. I'm lucky enough to not have to work at this point.

  4. A question for the Ford employee`s, not the “moderator please, members”. When did manufacturing jobs become so unwanted? Is it covid exposure? Vaccine mandates? Lack of need for a job? Or Walmart pays better? So far in 2021, Americans are quitting manufacturing jobs at the highest rate we've ever seen. Then in the last few years we see on the plant floor this quitting virus jumping the fence and never before has so many salaried employee`s done the leave your keys and radio on the LL5`s desk and just disappear. Are they quitting to go to better job? Moving back in with Ma & Pa? 306,000 workers quit manufacturing in August. 300,000 quit in July. Maybe not our “moderator please” members but any member that’s been on the floor at CAP can backup this phenomenon with firsthand experience on any given day of the week when their short 60 or 70 bodies to start up in just Final. The “night letter`s” are echoing 20 to 25 percent AWOL daily. This is a by product of the leadership making way for a complete “it`s someone else’s problem” or “poor me, I can`t work so much” welfare state of mind. When all the fingers are pointing at what`s wrong and laying blame for everything in the last almost 250 years on a small percentage of people who… come to work, guess this is what happens when the leadership just doesn`t think out of their box. Wonder where this welfare state of mind is heading?

  5. WRT SCOTUS decision, apparently there's more to the case that doesn't really pertain to today's issue. Lawyer friend gave me the short story on it tonight.

  6. Word on the street is Prickster is rushing to change this. The Illinois Health Care Right of Conscience Act I can't find anything current but that's probably because the news don't want you to know about it. Sheep don't need to know.

  8. There is no such thing as recommended pressure on the sidewall. That is the absolute maximum pressure you should ever run at any time on any vehicle. Recommended pressure is on the sticker on the driver’s door jamb. I would assume it matches the app recommendation.

  9. 1.the two tier pay scale 2.these new hires do not get short work weeks until I think a yr of service. Currently a very common thing, short work week that is. 3.these jobs are not very desirable, I myself with 25yrs dont think I would want this work if the table's were turned. Lots of really good opportunities out there. I know there's more to it but these aren't easy jobs.

  14. If you have access to an ozone generator, try that overnight. Just be careful - ozone is NOT good for you in large doses, so it's generally best to set the machine up, close the doors and THEN plug it in. Once done, unplug it, open all doors from OUTSIDE the vehicle, and allow to "air out" for a few minutes - it disperses quickly. It's often used to negate smoke smell in homes and cars - it's quite effective against most organic-based odors. Best part - if it doesn't work, you will NOT have introduced a new "scent" to the vehicle, since there's absolutely zero residual chemical/odor.

  16. On the topic of vaccine mandates.... The U.S. will open the Canada and Mexico borders for fully vaccinated travelers in November, lifting a 19-month ban that began with the pandemic. But…. If one enters through a southern border “not” as a tourist or just seeking employment with Ford, vax or no vax… no problem come on in. Make sure to stop and pick up your welcoming gifts

  18. https://www.shrm.org/resourcesandtools/legal-and-compliance/employment-law/pages/what-to-expect-from-osha-on-covid-19-vaccine-and-testing-rules.aspx The HR Management organization expects Emergency Temporary Standard in 30 to 60 days. It can only extend 6 months, or be replaced by a permanent standard. Sure it will be opposed by some employers. Throughout this pandemic, limits to emergency declarations and standards have been stretched to an extent not observed since WW II. With this in mind, every large employer will remain flexible to implement, even if they disagree.

  19. Hi 20Navigator. Just want to mention that in no way was I inferring you yelled at Lincoln Concierge or anyone else. My point was that you are not the only person a rep speaks to in a particular day. And while you may be polite, today's climate seems to have convinced some (many) people that they have the tight to be rude. Therefore, I am sure they (like many customer service reps in many businesses) get tired of being yelled at when they can not provide certain bits of information that a buyer may consider important, but they have no access to because Lincoln/Ford (or whichever company) do not consider it important enough to place into a readily available database to the at their level. And as akirby has mentioned, it does not matter anyway. There would be no sense or value in Lincoln/Ford providing a searchable database to Lincoln Concierge of exactly where/when a vehicle was parked while waiting delivery during these pandemic induced, extended storage and delivery times. Even in your case, it would provide no usable data as to when/where a mouse got into a vehicle. Yes, of course it could be searched out as to where it was parked and on what dates, but to what end? Just to be able to state that "Maybe the mouse got in at location A". Or "Maybe the mouse got in at location B". Or "Maybe the mouse got in at the railhead while it was sitting there"...etc...? There would be no way to know at which location it happened...or if it happened after delivery (no one ever has mice until it happens the first time). So while it is frustrating to us, data like that does not matter where the mouse got in, only that it got in somewhere. The information provides no value, would prove nothing, cost money to compile and input, and provide no value. I hope you understand that I totally understand your frustration. However, that frustration needs to be tempered with reality. Please enjoy your new Navigator and good luck.

  29. You think maybe you could have led with that? All you said was it had 36 miles on it and some surface rust all of which is relatively normal. Obviously it sat at the factory waiting for a part (microchip or something else). But if it took a few weeks to smell something I’d say it’s questionable whether they got onboard at the factory or at home.

  33. I have little belief SCOTUS will overturn administrative "directives". With that being said, we are still dealing with jabs working under EUA, which is a direct violation of international law. The product that received technical approval is not available. It was a master bait and switch. I'm surprised at only 1% leaving at Henry Ford. I would have guessed a little higher. Also curious about medical and religious waiver. My MD's are all at UoM, and UoM has advised their docs, they are not permitted to issue medical waivers. If they do, they will be dismissed. An interesting position for my wife's MD's, and this doesn't pertain to her as she is medically retired, they have verbally told her and even in an email advised her, do not get the jab. An interesting conundrum that I don't understand. The Pfizer vaccine, and I'd question if Moderna does too, are using aborted fetus cells in the development of the vaccine. How does a person in certain religions that do not support abortions rationalize use of aborted fetus cells? Same question for vegetarians and vegans?
