  2. I hope Ford does not import any Chinese built vehicle into the U.S. Just not a smart move in these times when our relations with Russia/China are so precarious. And they are getting worse by the day.

  5. First off, thank you for all of your contributions to these forums. Ford (and the other manufacturers) know that many (maybe most) dealers use dishonest sales tactics. The manufacturers choose to look the other way so it continues. If the manufacturers wanted to stop it they could take steps to virtually eliminate the behavior. Fortunately there are some dealers that do honest work and build a good reputation good enough to attract customers near and far. I tried order my truck through local dealers but they all wanted MSRP or higher so I ordered out of state. Thanks again for your work here.

  7. I've done a quick review of the Ford Stock Inventory Reframing information and will make some general comments here until the new "Stock" Order Guides are published and loaded into the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system. My comments are based on my 35 years of experience in the New York Region and reflect my stock ordering practices over the years. Many of those practices reflect what Ford is now about to implement which I'll describe here. For many years, at the start of each new Model Year, I created what I considered to be the right/best mix of equipment groups, options, exterior and interior colors, etc. for each vehicle line for the dealership. Part of this was also based on experience with the Dealer Principal's other Ford dealerships in New York and Massachusetts in addition to my primary office in Connecticut. The objective was to create stock orders that met the dealership's best-selling vehicle configurations at the various model and price points so that the dealership always had multiple vehicles in stock at the same price point and in the most popular colors. When new exterior paint colors were introduced that were questionable, the policy was to wait until I could actually see a vehicle in the new color before ordering one for stock inventory. There are new colors introduced each year that just don't look good or sell, and stocking vehicles in certain colors can mean they'll sit on the lot longer and increase floorplan financing expenses. The stock orders I created included the best-selling equipment and option combinations but did not include Dealer Installed Options. In the past year or so, Ford started encouraging dealerships to order more Dealer Installed Options and other miscellaneous options (Floor Liners, Roof Rack Crossbars, etc.) in order to increase sales. In return, Ford is paying dealerships $10 for each qualifying option added to an order. I understand the corporate objective, but it just adds to the basic vehicle cost at the dealership level as it eliminates the profit potential at the dealership level by selling these items to the buyer that actually wants them. I stopped managing my dealership's USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) over a year ago but still have access to all the information including the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system. As such, I have access to seeing the details of all the dealership's stock orders which are now managed by the General Manager. There's little consistency now and similar vehicle orders now differ by specifications that make no sense, and some vehicle orders now include options that were never included, or considered desirable, on stock orders in the past. This new Ford Stock Inventory Reframing launch is a good start but still includes too many equipment group and options but it's a start that I hope will be revised further. I've advocated for years a simplification of the stock inventory ordering process. This is a start and will hopefully lead to further simplification.

  8. Just wondering if anyone on the forums owns one of these. Considering only 250 were made for 2021 and only 150+ thus far for 2022 Its probably a long shot one of the 400 people in the US/world would be on the forums but if so I’d love to hear some owner reviews. After ordering a F150 and then an F250 3 months ago and sold my raptor about a month ago. However it turns out neither Ford nor my dealer could not give me any idea on a production date, VIN or build date which was super frustrating — I know I am not alone here. Therefore , I cancelled my orders and started looking for a truck on the ground all over the US. All the higher end lariats and platinums had high ADMs (10-20K) so I decided for a bit more $ I could have something pretty special. I know some people say it’s just a lift and cosmetics but a couple of the pro reviews are pretty amazing. Anyway, I pulled the trigger today sight unseen and should have the truck that arrived yesterday within a week pending transport. I guess If no one responds Ill be happy to put a owner review out there in a few weeks.

  10. I will say with Flat Rock available and the design already done and drivetrains readily available and the higher market prices it seems like a no brainer to bring it here. Unless doing so would compromise other more important programs.

  11. With no Fords on track the past few seasons I would have to believe IMSA has lost a fair number of fans, myself included. That should be reason enough to allow Fords to be competitive again.

  12. Just speculating... I posted this before in the previous S650 thread. I think Ford is not yet ready to pull the plug on manual (it still does a decent business in Mustang) but I suspect all the auto will be hybrid. And Ford will charge a premium for "heritage" models like Bullitt or MACH 1 that will appeal to enthusiasts willing to pay the premium to keep V8+Manual+RWD in production. Just look at Porsche's business model with 911... 2.3 Ecoboost manual 2.3 Ecoboost hybrid auto (optional AWD?) 5.0 V8 hybrid auto (optional AWD?) 5.0 V8 manual Bullitt or MACH 1

  16. Now that throttles are electronic it’s very easy to modulate the throttle signals or change the PCM parameters to change the responsiveness. All reports I’ve seen say they work.

  17. Try selling to another dealer. Doesn't have to be a Ford dealer. Carmax?? Just remember not trading in for the new truck will increase your taxes on the sale so account for that difference.

  19. I would agree. I dont see too many people getting an EV unless they are a multi-vehicle family. Not too many people are going to take a road trip with an EV. I cant imagine needing to charge it 2 or more times in a day...

  23. In my opinion, since you just ordered your SD, you have PLENTY of time to get a PIN. Just as long as the dealership knows it’s an X Plan order, and they’ll accept it, you’re good. FYI, I got my PIN in early October and ordered mine in mid-October. My scheduled build week is 14 February. Just don’t let it go too long…

  24. For those of you following along with my price protection saga, here's an update. Because I ordered in July and the truck wasn't available for delivery until January 14, there had been two Super Duty price increases - one in August and the second in December totaling $1,545. The dealer initially included the increases in the price I was being charged and refused to remove them. After much aggravation and me trying to convince them they were ever so wrong on Friday, I left the dealership before I got to the point of going crazy. Then Saturday morning, emailed them the first of ice-capade's posts. More back-and-forth and by mid-day I had sent them the actual letters provided by ice. By early evening, I finally prevailed and they agreed to remove both price increases. I owe a significant amount of gratitude to @ice-capades for posting the actual Ford letters that supported my position. I initially saved his excellent post from the Retail Price Increase thread that explained the price protection program and his two posts of the actual price increases that stated the price protection and sent all of those to the dealer. Those were met with a luke warm "we'll look into it" response. Then ice came through again and posted the actual letters. I sent those to the dealer and about four hours later, with no more excuses to hide behind, they agreed to remove both price increases. I have yet to see how they "removed" the $1,545 so I don't know if they will try to stick me with the sales tax on it or if they will actually reduce the top line price of the vehicle. Now, we are still arguing about the trade value they propose but that is just a game of chicken at this point. If I didn't have 5 and a half months of wait time invested, I would have walked away in a heartbeat yesterday. I'm fortunate enough to not be in a position where I have to have the truck for work and my current 2018 F-150 Lariat is fully capable of everything I need it to do. The F-250 was intended to give us more RV towing flexibility and allow for a possible 5th wheel RV upgrade in the future. If the dealer and I can finally reach an agreement on a reasonable trade and make a deal next Tuesday, when my salesman gets back from his long weekend, I'll be sure to let you know and I'll definitely post pics! For those of you about to get trucks delivered, have your information guns loaded with the facts and don't let them play stupid. The resources on this forum are awesome!

  26. Another sign along one of the curbs that I just past on this journey, I became aware of what may give a little directional flow for the other travelers in their hyper fear type of journey. Those passing lanes are so filled with fear and dangerous when travelers only listen to those that profess to know the only way and insist, they are the science. But for sure I believe in the sciences, all. (period) With some of the road signs I and many travelers have passed in the last !8 plus months have been like the fore telling of the second coming (in my discipline first) a few scientists (disciples) have stepped out from mortal humanity to raise to a level of a scientist form a heavenly status. With a specific scientist putting forth a form of gospel in a backlite manner to address the followers from near a burning bush. But Hey on a lower level the shit is still sneakin out .... https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/stacey-lennox/2022/01/15/two-omicron-studies-are-fantastic-news-that-should-end-mandates-and-restrictions-n1549676 Yep....schlocky tabloid.

  29. I agree. Each side would likely have to connect to the floor of the bed as well to prevent it from being wobbly, especially the side with the swing out tailgate. It would need to be secured to handle the forces of the gate swinging open.

  30. There's still a B Plan. There's just no B car lot. The trick is, you either have to be a management lessee and buy your own car with B Plan, or know a management lessee who's about to turn in his car, and get him to agree to "tag" it for you before turning it in. Once it's turned in, there is zero possibility of getting it on B Plan. In theory you could sit at WHQ-VSC and ask everyone who drives up if they're turning in their vehicles, but I wasn't motivated enough to try that. What doesn't work is driving through the VSC lot and looking at the obviously turned-in vehicles (as opposed to the undelivered ones) and requesting one of those. I tried!

  31. you can shift manually, but that's not realistic or feasible with so much forward and back, all while holding a plow controller in my right hand. I think the deep snow/sand is the best option. Better yet, Ford should make a snow plowing mode for trucks equipped with plow prep. One other irritating trait, the back defrost only stays on for about 5-10 minutes, and window is constantly fogging up. Would be easier if it would just stay on when I turn it on. Maybe this is adjustable in forscan, If I found someone with the right knowledge to do so?

  32. Great! Another clueless Dealer that doesn't know what they're doing! The USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) doesn't open at the beginning of year unless both complete vehicle specifications AND pricing is available. Retail orders receive automatic price protection for the prices in effect on the day the order was submitted and received by Ford. Dealer Invoices and Window Stickers are generated with the prices in effect at the time the vehicle is produced. The price protection for retail orders is an accounting function between the dealership and Ford that adjusts the vehicle prices to those in effect on the original order date. The WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system will only display the prices in effect at the time the order specifications on the "Preview" screen are displayed. When Ford announces retail pricing changes, the notice is posted on the main page of the FMCDealer.com portal. As I've posted in the corresponding forum (Ford Retail Price Increases), the notice always includes the information for the retail order price protection. When vehicle specifications are changed, the Dealer simply adjusts the sales agreement and price based on the prices in effect on the original order date. As noted, the Dealer Invoice is created using the pricing in effect at the time the vehicle was produced. The retail order is price protected to the prices in effect on the original order date, but the Dealer has to file a price protection claim with Ford which is an internal accounting adjustment between the dealership and Ford. Ford does not generate either Window Stickers or Dealer Invoices using the prices in effect on the original order date. The retail order price protection only applies if the vehicle is delivered to the same customer that placed the order originally. The price protection process is handled by the dealership's main office staff, not an inventory or sales manager, using the original order documentation to support the claim. Your "Inventory Manager" should talk to the dealership's main office staff as the retail order price protection process has existed for decades! In addition, the price protection process does not delay vehicle delivery to the customer. Hope this helps!

  35. Hi mitch. Don't you have a Purchase Order/Contract with the final pricing breakdown? If you ordered a vehicle from a Dealer, you should have a signed/finalized Purchase Order/Contract with all the pricing, discounts, Incentives, any accessories, taxes, final price etc. And that Purchase Order/Contract would already list/show all Incentives being applied. Let us know how you make out and good luck.

  36. Not true, Ford employees can share pins with friends and family. That used to happen a lot around here but Ford cracked down on the definition of friend which doesn’t include strangers on Internet forums.
