  1. The issue is that car makers NOW have to decide where they are putting their money at....the auto industry has a long lag time-decisions made now won't make it to the market place till 36 months or longer.

  2. I'd rather have one of the later builds of an outgoing model than one of the first of a new model, especially if there are any significant changes being made (but I don't think that's know as of now). Let them work out the bugs during the 2023 model year. At least that's what I'm telling myself since I have a 2022 on order...hah

  4. I know this topic has been covered before but I want to see if there's any updates or new info out there. I would like to get rid of the clear clearance lights on the top of the truck. Has anybody replaced them and knows a part number for tinted ones or replacement lens that are tinted? There are always replacement light sets, but I would prefer to not break the seal of the lights off a new truck and deal with wiring. I think a lens swap would be better.

  5. I put a Westin HDX grille gaurd on mine. One piece all welded, I talked to a guy that hit 2 deer with his and could not tell, they bolt to the frame in 4 spots and seem very solid. they have them in stainless or black powder coated, after this picture I re adjust it so it followed the body lines better. I also put a rough country 2" leveling kit, and Good year kevlar Adventure tires in 34" and color matched cap.

  7. Those are both great ideas. I did consider a private sale but really didn't want to deal with the tire kickers, those who want it for the price of a wrecked car, or who can't qualify for a loan after I've held the truck for a week waiting on their bank approval. It does chap my a$$ to give the dealer even more profit after I've been jerked around but it also is an easy way out of the truck for me. I also explored the CarMax and Carvana alternatives but surprisingly their appraisals were within $1,700 of the dealer's initial offer and as was mentioned, that difference wasn't enough to cover the extra sales tax I would owe paying full price with no trade. Another thing to consider, at least here in Florida, is the registration and titling costs are higher if there is a new vehicle added rather than just transferring from a trade-in vehicle and that is on top of the extra sales tax.. And after I went silent for two days, my salesman must have been getting worried I was going to bail so he said he "convinced the sales manager to up the trade in offer". I had already told him what I would accept so it made it easy for them to "guess" the right number. I actually didn't expect them to increase their trade number because I figured I didn't really have any leverage but I guess they saw it was my birthday today and felt sorry for me! So I got a big birthday present that will get picked up Tuesday or Wednesday (schedules allowing).

  9. Something finally struck me about its design. It looks very French... Which in this case, happens to be a good thing.

  10. Just a reminder - please don’t quote pictures over and over especially if there are multiple pictures in a post, Delete the pics and leave the text in the quote unless you’re making a comment about a specific picture,

  11. New poster here hoping for some information, be it good or bad. I have "bought" a '21 Ranger thats on a lot here in Denver, but the safety recall has been pending on it (meaning I cant take delivery or finalize purchase) until the headrest recall is complete. I did a "chat" with a warranty person yesterday, who wasn't super helpful but DID divulge that the parts are supposed to be available "Early Q1 2022" (which seems like it should be right about now). I've been waiting 8 weeks, which I know isnt long in comparison with some people - but I'm wondering if anybody on here whether it be a ford employee or someone more versed in searching this forum has any ideas on when the part will be available/when '21 & '22 SuperCab trucks will be back & available? Thanks!

  13. If this were for me only, this list would have some wildcards in it. However, since it’s me, my special needs son, and his gear ( stroller/wheelchair and such) I need more utility. I’ve outgrown the Fusion for sure. I’m almost thinking the BS maybe too small. In regards to the Fusion, it ended up being an external transmission cable that needed to be replaced. Since it was outside of the transmission, it was not covered by the powertrain warranty. $555 with labor and tax. Not horrible but more than I wanted to pay. As it gets older, I expect certain things to wear out. It’s a gamble the longer you own a car and precisely why I’m eyeing a new one possibly in 2023.

  14. Nope....no trace....just don't leave it on there when taking truck to dealer.

  15. Welcome to the Forum. I suggesst scrolling down and selecting the F-150 & Raptor. They probably have other threads, but since I have a F-450 on order, it's not something I research. Good luck finding the information.

  16. One of the benefits of dealing with the same sales manager for over 15 yrs. I could have kept the old truck until the new one arrived, but based on our relationship, he knew I would hand it over as soon as we finished using it for camping. It's all about trust and knowing your customer. Since my old truck was a F-350 DRW 6.7 4x2, it would have had a fairly limited market. Although we rarely need 4-wheel drive locally, every truck ordered comes 4x4. When I factor in the sales tax saving from the trade-in, I most likely got more from the dealer than I could privately.

  17. I have seen those sometimes, but it rarely shows up on a report. In any case I wouldn't worry about it - yours and just about every other order I am tracking is doing the same thing.

  18. That is a GREAT looking grill guard! I'm liking that better than the ranch hand I think. Very substantial looking. I also like the idea of getting it in stainless steel maybe. Hadn't really thought of that option. Thank you for the reply!

  19. Youre asking too much from them. I think if they release one more new model, theyll have to shut down production for a year to gather supplies

  22. Thanks for the update. This was a truck that was purchased at a dealer that our family does business with, but was subsequently delivered to this dealer where my cousin is physically located, for final delivery, which he paid a fee for. The truck is not visibly present on their lot, and the dealer said they had no idea where the truck was located on Saturday, and did not contact him yesterday after they said they would. The truck has been paid for, they just need to release it to him. He talked to a manager this morning, and apparently there is only one person in the entire dealership that can help with this and he doesn’t come in until 10am. Hopefully he will have the answers, and it will be resolved, but thanks to you, my cousin is armed with the appropriate information. I’ll post a pic of the truck once he gets it. Have a great day!

  25. Wow, you got trade in offer also? That rocks! My dealer told me they "couldn't" do that until closer to the delivery date. As it turns out, I sold my truck outright anyway. Made a KILLING on it. ?

  30. I hadn’t thought about it, but seems like a legitimate idea. I know the aluminum parts of the truck wouldn’t be an issue, but wonder about the bumpers (are they plastic?). I also wonder if you can do custom colors of line-X. I will start digging up some answers. @BigUnixGeek Like the name, I work with *nix in my profession. ?

  31. Anyone translate Chinese? edit, OK google translate helped me understand the above specs, Top row is previous Mondeo Middle row is new Mondeo Bottom row previous Taurus Man, this new Mondeo is just the ticket to replace Fusion and Taurus, it’s brilliant.

  33. That statement of his I took more to mean a new model with an ICE/hybrid powertrain (i.e. bringing back the new global Mondeo as Fusion), not adding a hybrid option to an existing product.

  34. I will say with Flat Rock available and the design already done and drivetrains readily available and the higher market prices it seems like a no brainer to bring it here. Unless doing so would compromise other more important programs.

  41. I've done a quick review of the Ford Stock Inventory Reframing information and will make some general comments here until the new "Stock" Order Guides are published and loaded into the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system. My comments are based on my 35 years of experience in the New York Region and reflect my stock ordering practices over the years. Many of those practices reflect what Ford is now about to implement which I'll describe here. For many years, at the start of each new Model Year, I created what I considered to be the right/best mix of equipment groups, options, exterior and interior colors, etc. for each vehicle line for the dealership. Part of this was also based on experience with the Dealer Principal's other Ford dealerships in New York and Massachusetts in addition to my primary office in Connecticut. The objective was to create stock orders that met the dealership's best-selling vehicle configurations at the various model and price points so that the dealership always had multiple vehicles in stock at the same price point and in the most popular colors. When new exterior paint colors were introduced that were questionable, the policy was to wait until I could actually see a vehicle in the new color before ordering one for stock inventory. There are new colors introduced each year that just don't look good or sell, and stocking vehicles in certain colors can mean they'll sit on the lot longer and increase floorplan financing expenses. The stock orders I created included the best-selling equipment and option combinations but did not include Dealer Installed Options. In the past year or so, Ford started encouraging dealerships to order more Dealer Installed Options and other miscellaneous options (Floor Liners, Roof Rack Crossbars, etc.) in order to increase sales. In return, Ford is paying dealerships $10 for each qualifying option added to an order. I understand the corporate objective, but it just adds to the basic vehicle cost at the dealership level as it eliminates the profit potential at the dealership level by selling these items to the buyer that actually wants them. I stopped managing my dealership's USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) over a year ago but still have access to all the information including the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system. As such, I have access to seeing the details of all the dealership's stock orders which are now managed by the General Manager. There's little consistency now and similar vehicle orders now differ by specifications that make no sense, and some vehicle orders now include options that were never included, or considered desirable, on stock orders in the past. This new Ford Stock Inventory Reframing launch is a good start but still includes too many equipment group and options but it's a start that I hope will be revised further. I've advocated for years a simplification of the stock inventory ordering process. This is a start and will hopefully lead to further simplification.
