  3. Ordered 11-1 Lariat Ultimate BAP 5th wheel prep 6.7 lots of cameras and the silly little knob on the dash (that does work!) bunch of other stuff CCSB Scheduled on 3/17 for week of 4/25 Day schedule moved from 4/27 to 4/30. No other bumps yet. Went "in production" today! So will it be towing at the end of June, or middle of July? Who wants to buy a 2001 Suburban 2500 in very good condition? The icing on the cake would be a PCO!

  5. Horse hockey. ICE is alive and well and will continue to be for many years. The only reason Tesla has big margins is because they get the ADM markups that dealers are getting for other mfrs. When the market corrects itself and the ADMs go away they’ll have to cut prices to compete and they’ll go back to modest profits.

  6. Traditional OEMs milked the "cash cow" of manufacturing and marketing low tech, polluting ICE powered vehicles as long as they could. Now that cow is dying and the OEMs are frantically trying to transition to the "new world" of the automotive industry. Not all traditional OEMs will survive until the end of this decade. With Farley as CEO, Ford is an a better position than most. Tesla invested in completely new and different ways of manufacturing and marketing high tech, clean BEV, along with energy storage and generation products. As a result, Tesla has gross margins in the automotive segment of 33% nowadays. No traditional OEM in the global automotive industry has ever achieved that, and the disparity between Tesla and the incumbents is likely to widen in the years to come.

  9. I know when I ordered my truck on May 21st, 2021. It was alittle bumpy to get to when the truck finally got here. Overall I am very happy with my dealer. They were very patient and respectful to me through the whole process. They were not perfect but I'm also not always a easy customer to deal with. When I was frustrated with problems we had they had someone that was able to address the issue and fix it to the best of their abilities. On the day of pickup (today) everything was exactly as it should have been. Price was exactly as we discussed in the beginning. They made the truck ready even accommodating my work schedule. So If your from the Boise Idaho area I would recommend kendall Ford of Meridian if you want a good honest dealer. I'm going to install some accessories I got for it and then post more photos in photo of delivered trucks post and for cyperman. ?

  11. @4thTimer consider the KBB online instant cash offer as you get closer to taking delivery to see if you could possibly get more. KBB will provide you with an amount then local dealerships will contact you for the opportunity to purchase it. I had two dealerships fighting to buy my 2010 Yukon XL with 124k, but in great condition. Just a thought, my friend

  12. What do you consider a "road trip" if you can go 300 miles one way on a charge-its about a 5-6 hours drive on the east coast. I had to go to the VA beach area from central NJ and had to stop 3 times for gas (small tank in an Escape) round trip. On the way down I stopped to eat lunch-I could have recharged about 80% in 20-30 minutes.

  13. Yes....Sync 4. My previous 2012 Limited Edge had a lower level of Sync, for which I had to buy map updates every few years and installed thru a small SD chip port. Guess tech has improved in 10 years LOL So you are saying, in addition to any updates for the CPU, my maps will periodically get updated with new roads, etc? Great! Am capable of using my phone for Nav if necessary, but love that big screen on the dash. Am liking this new Nautilus more and more. Thanks for info!

  14. Thousands of other trucks are also at PL 02, some ordered months before December. Mine was PL 02 for 4 months before I got scheduled. It is just waiting for parts to be available

  15. I wouldn't pay extra for premium sound. With road, wind and vehicle noise going on, subtle acoustic nuances are drowned out. And, the chain of fidelity is reduced by ever- lengthening links: Original recording>duplication>archival hardware-software(Spotify, SiriusXM iTunes etc)>broadcast/cable streaming>receiver> Bluetooth/USB cable/Wifi> speakers/headphones. It's amazing we get any audio at all!

  17. And my 450 platinum is scheduled for the week of May 2nd. Hopefully, I’ll be the pathfinder for y’all. I just spent half a day putting new axel bearings and brakes on my current vehicle. At the same time I’ve got another SUV down for a transmission rebuild. Guess I could always drive my old dump truck until this saga is complete. ?

  18. I definitely agree with that as far as trades go. Don't know about other states but Texas only discounts the trade in from a vehicle purchase if at the same dealership and within 30 days of purchase. So you have to wait months for your order to come in before you negotiate the trade and the dealer then knows they can low ball you on the trade in because they have the sales tax on their side. If the trade is worth $40k that would save you about $2800 so maybe they only offer $37k for the trade and let you decide if you want to bother selling it yourself. For me, CarMax is offering me a surprising amount for my van online. When my truck is close I'll see what Granger offers and go get an official offer from CarMax and then decide if I want to drive or fly to Granger.

  21. The main reason is they are not set up for it. The Factory is not open to the public, and there are no public facilities at the factory. There are also significant liability issues with things like factory tours. BMW for example does offer factory delivery, but BMW also has a large public reception area and public museum attached to the factory. You still aren't picking up your car off the line, its more like a mini dealership that is on the same property as the factory. As far as I know touring the factory itself isn't an option either. This is more or less a tourism marketing technique geared towards North American buyers who want to visit Germany/Europe anyways. Technically you aren't Purchasing the BMW at the factory either, you are more or less renting it. BMW Collects it back from you and ships it to your dealer at the end of your trip. You complete the sale and paperwork at your dealership when it is delivered.

  23. Thanks and Yep, indeed it has. 5th wheel rails and plug get predrilled this weekend then off to Line X for premium black next weekend. Front valance will get a trim or replaced. Window tint on the front doors will happen soon also. Some All Terrains down the road. This thing rides soooo much better than the 2004.

  24. I've seen you say this over and over again and you are absolutely correct. And it means NOTHING to the hundreds of thousands of people who are trying to navigate the retail order purchase experience for the very first time. We may get a email with a printout of the DORA and agree to a price. We expect to get the price we agreed on. Ford knows what I agreed to because they required me to sign to validate the order. It is unreasonable to expect a person who has never ordered a vehicle to learn every possible way for a dealership to screw you over in this process. The vehicle purchase process now takes months instead of hours and I understand that. I am willing to do my part and suffer the wait, I expect Ford to do their part and keep dealers in line. Every franchise agreement states that franchisees must not do things which hurt the brand. The dealer plays this game every day so they have the ultimate advantage and ultimate responsibility to represent Ford. No matter how many times people get on here and defend them, I guarantee you that I will hold Ford responsible if my dealer goes back on his word because the dealer is the face of Ford Motor Company. They have an opportunity to reward my dedication as a customer. If this doesn't go well it will be the last new Ford I purchase. In case anybody is watching and thinks I'm not serious about that, it has been almost a decade since I've purchased anything from Best Buy because they refused to honor a coupon.

  25. X plan is a percentage off of MSRP. So if the MSRP went up so did the X plan price. When I ordered my truck in Feb I told the dealer I want the X Plan price shown on the invoice that I was gonna sign. He at first stated that he had no way of getting that price shown on the build invoice but I had seen another invoice with it listed at the bottom so I knew it was possible. He said he would ask his manager and try to find out how to do it. A few hours later he called and said they had it figure. The invoice that he sent me to sign had the msrp of the truck as well as the X plan price listed. It can be done.

  27. My F450 Platinum is scheduled for week of May 9th after being pushed out 7 times. The frequency of the pushbacks have slowed down a lot in the last month or so. I think I escaped the dreaded Friday night pushback email once again. But to my surprise I did get an email from my sales rep just a few minutes ago saying I’m scheduled for production for May 15th. I can only assume this is the currently scheduled production “day” rather than “week”. Does anyone know at what point you go from having a production week to a production day? I always assumed it happened 1-2 weeks before.

  31. With regards to an Atmo pushrod engine, I was just thinking about the 7.0 LS7 released in 2006, 570 hp @5,500 and 540 lbft @ 4,000, I have no doubt that the 6.8 could achieve those figures easily even with 0.2 litres less, no trick titanium rods or the constraints of 4” crank in a low deck height block. For one, the bore should be bigger and the stroke less, allowing the engine to rev more easily and make use of big free flowing cylinder heads. With regards to an Atmo OHC/multivalve engine, And then I thought about the GM 5.5 liter DOHC LT6 that’s due in the Corvette, 670hp @8,400 and 460 lb ft @6,300. The shear presence of that engine is going to eclipse the 5.2 Voodoo engine because that’s what GM does. If the 6.8 is OHC or multivalve, it would approximate a big coyote with a third more capacity, now that has to easily match or eclipses the LT6’s power and torque at lower revs.

  32. My point is simple. If you have a signed buyer’s order with the price then everything else is moot because of price protection. Without a signed buyer’s order they can charge whatever they want because you never agreed on a price.

  33. Took delivery of the new beast, the 2022 4x4 Black Label L Navigator. Same exterior and interior I had on the 2020, Pristine White Metallic Tri-Coat and Chalet theme. This is the L vs. the regular length of my 2020. It is raining today, so I only have managed a few pics I will post here. My initial impressions, in no particular order, are below the pics. 1. The rain sensing wipers work much better. My 2020 always sensed more rain than was present, and I had it set to lowest sensitivity. 2. One annoying issue that was never solved was the SiruisXM song title being displayed on the instrument cluster. Works on this one. 3. The lack of engine cover: no discernible increase in engine noise. In fact, the engine sounds quieter. Go figure. Looking at the engine, no way the 2020 cover will fit. See pics in Engine Cover Missing thread. There are added components on this engine. Wild guess: ActiveGlide components. 4. The map orientation is cool. There are no + and - buttons or re-centering icon that I could find. It is pinch and zoom. Cool part, you can reset the view after that if you want. If not, after, I think, 5 seconds, the vehicle icon "snaps back" to center. 5. Speed limit signs on map are more accurate than on Sync 3. 6. Lincoln never admitted I should have had "Miles to empty" on HUD and instrument cluster simultaneously. BS about VIN/build date. Um, it was a Black Label. Why would something have less functionality? Answer: they were lying. This one displays both properly. 7. When I pulled in the driveway, I did a Sync update scan. Took 5 seconds. 5 seconds, you read that correctly. 2020 would take several minutes, at best. All over the air, as I was NOT connected to wifi. Okay, those are just some things I was able to notate, at red lights, of course, that I noticed. Engine/transmission shift points seem peppier as well. Maybe just the new vehicle excitement. Have not been able to test ActiveGlide yet but will do so soon. Love it so far. The issues I mainly experienced seem to be working correctly. Now, they had to re-clean much of the suede interior. It was smudged with fingerprints or something that must have come from the factory. Who knows? They should have caught it in the prep, but whatever. Pam, the RAV salesperson, got us in and out quickly, and the finance guy had everything ready and took less than 10 minutes. A good experience, overall.

  40. Well, all I can do is laugh. Not worth getting worked up over. Missed a call from the Ford Supervisor who was supposed to call me back (showed up as SPAM), he left a message apologizing for the issues I was having with my truck order, but was happy to let me know my order had been bumped up in priority, and that my EXPEDITION was now scheduled for a build week of May 9th! Of course I called right back to see what he meant by that, but he was unavailable -- so I put in another request to have him call me back. Guess I'll need to answer all SPAM call the next few days. While I was on the phone, I checked on the status of my F350 and it's still in processing. SO... right now my order has been confused twice.... LOL I hope there is a happy Expedition owner out there now! ?? I swear I'm not making this up...

  45. Bob, I agree- I don't support big subsidies for electric vehicles either, and at this point it's hard to tell if electrics will take 20% or 80% or whatever % of the medium market. Still hard to make an argument for investing in a big gas V8 now, though it made sense in the 1950s. But the money's spent and it ain't a bad engine, may as well make the most of it! jpd80, nothing wrong with looking for markets beyond new Ford trucks for the 7.3- Crate engines, industrial engines, etc. are profitable "icing on the cake" for Ford.
