  1. I was one of those 5,110 Rangers delivered since I picked up mine Apr. 30th. The Maverick is a nice little pickup, but I wanted a real truck with off-road capability and a tough frame. I added a dealer installed spray-in bedliner, red tow hooks to match the grille inserts and a pair of 6" Diode Dynamics light bars so I could put the Aux switches to use.

  2. Maybe it's because I grew up with them, but I actually like the 97-03 aero F-150s.....especially the flare side models (that's what my dad had).

  5. I’m not following the logic here. 2030 would still be 5 model years away. Seems like a regular product cycle to me. I wouldn’t expect any new architectures that couldn’t be electrified, though. Not introducing anything new on the ice front would be dicey as to whether Ford can secure the supply chain for Bev components and demand for electric vehicles keeps pace. By mid to late decade the current products would be quite stale. Better to have something of a plan B using ice. Particularly for traditional customers that are Ford’s base. Otherwise, I see the base being eroded faster to competitors that kept their ice products fresh than the new Bev customers coming on board. Product planning is going to be critical over the next decade or so. Those that get it right will be big winners.

  6. I think Ford can easily host another C2 utility at either of the two C2 plants in North America. Hermosilo will get Transit Connect (at least that was the plan) so Louisville may see this one. Hermosilo: Bronco Sport + Maverick + Transit Connect Louisville: Escape + Corsair + ???
    2 points
  7. A more logical manufacturing location may be Louisville with Escape and Corsair, especially if all are C2 and particularly now that Ford no longer exports Lincoln’s to China.

Ford CEO Farley Cracking Down Hard on $3.6 Billion Dealer Markups Won't send dealers cars if they charge too much https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/ford-cracking-down-3-6-billion-dealer-markups "We have very good knowledge of who they are, and their future allocation of product will be directly impacted," Farley said.

  9. I found this posted on Facebook and I think is a good document everyone should bring to the dealer when picking up your truck. It clearly spells out the price protection process. 20482_Ford_PriceProtection.pdf

  10. Agree on the 3.5L powerboost. Now that Toyota has inched past with the Tundra, Ford might up the ante. I think the small 1.5Kwh battery pack and CAFE are the culprits. No reason a 550hp or greater version couldn’t be created other than if the transmission can handle the power output. The aviator is 494hp/630lb ft. In grand touring aka powerboost. Another 100hp is quite a jump, but not impossible. Hard to say what the 6.8L will make for power numbers. If 32 valves, 600hp 600 lb ft NA should be easy. Add 50-100hp for powerboost. Even pushrod I would expect 600hp and 600+ lb ft. What is missing is a powerboost Coyote and or ecoboost coyote. Then again, Ford may not be interested in that market segment occupied by the 600hp twin turbo German V8s.

  12. If Ford held off on new models then when the supply chain gets fixed they’re late to the party. Remember they’re only behind 10%-20% right now. It does appear that Ford is giving stock allocations on some vehicles to some dealers ahead of retail orders but some of that is due to not having parts for retail orders and buyers walking away or ordering multiple vehicles. Trying to keep dealers happy with allocations is a no win situation for Ford no matter what they do.

  14. I agree regarding the crew cab, but it made it much more useful as a daily driver, and a more sustainable vehicle. I don’t think the R has to be the horsepower king if it does something different like the power boost. Especially if it were to routinely get 18 mpg plus. I know they say that people that buy these kind of trucks don’t care about gas mileage , but I’ve heard a lot of complaining about it. Range is a factor in these trucks and people get tired of filling them all the time. A motor like the power boost combined with the Raptors lighter weight, may be very close to the TRXs performance even. I doubt it will happen but I find it compelling.

  15. It's all BS! Ford's price protection policy has been in effect for decades and hasn't changed. Your Dealer is just setting you up to accept the price increases so they can pocket the increases as additional profit. Don't be surprised if the Dealer adds an ADM when the vehicle finally arrives!

  16. Yea if I would have received a built and a built and shipped email this week for the beginning of June I wouldn't be as concerned. Hoping next week. Will have a lot to squeeze it before first week in July to have it ready for vacation. In the mean time I guess I'll continue buying stuff everyone posts..?

  17. I really don’t understand what is going on regarding your thoughts on the more powerful motors for these vehicles. It seems like such an easy thing to achieve, which has made little progress as of late. I’m still hoping for a power boost version of the rumored 6.8l for the Raptor R. I think that would be an amazing setup. Perhaps they have something interesting in store for the Raptor R which has resulted in the delay.

  18. Nice looking truck. I like the red tow hooks. You definitely have a real truck, the Ranger has seen service and some very hostile environments.

  19. I hope something gives, because I can’t explain why I still have not received a build date for a Raptor I ordered in October of last year, when dealers are receiving stock Raptor orders. No need get into dealer allocation, I understand that situation. But I am a paying customer, that has yet to receive the vehicle. It seems to me something is broken.

  20. God, I hope so. Ford, GM and other manufacturers would be killing it at the moment if they could just get chips and other items in short supply. Here we have Ford with its best line up in years and they just can’t build enough of the damn things….. Ranger Raptor is a veritable cash cow, a gift from god for raising profit level and in that sense, probably justified ahead of Gen 2 Ranger if competing for production space against Bronco. The other thing that struck me about F150 Raptor was that Ford never considered the 600 HP version of EB 35 (Ford GT) with say, power boost on top to seal the deal……Heck even the Explorer ST’s 3.0 Powerboost with ~600 hp/~600 lb ft might be a thing… Supercharged 6.2 V8 for F150 Raptor S should have been a thing for the past ten years, an easy sell IMO…..

  22. I had a good conversation this week with my dealership. I am also still unscheduled. Ordered 12/9 f350 platinum tremor 7.3 with 5th wheel prep, spray in bedliner, floor mats, moonroof, console vault, upfitter switches. I asked my salesman what was up and if I could change anything, he shied away from telling me much, so I asked again about changing options and he hooked me up with the sales manager. I asked the sales manager about what options I should remove, he tried to remove them but said the system wasn’t allowing him to remove them, printed off my DORA which shows me at a priority 2, I asked if he could speak with the regional rep about removing options and he said he would reach out to her. I mentioned to him how it sucks that the price has gone up 3 grand since I ordered and he told me “ don’t worry you have price protection” he volunteered this info which was great. Also got a call back a few days later that they did not remove any options based on the advise of the regional rep, hope this holds true, I am thinking I have been at priority 2 for at least a month and a half based on our previous conversations. Hoping to get scheduled soon.

  23. You're right. That was just the best price I had found it my little time searching. I bought my Tremor valance from them so I know they're good to go as well.

  24. I couldn’t agree more, but manufacturers aren’t going to stop developing and marketing new products. Bronco Raptor is a prime example. You’d think that Ford would build existing orders before adding new models to the production mix considering the current supply constraints. I don’t understand it, but the reality is, manufacturers are moving forward with new products regardless of the supply situation. Here’s to hoping supplies normalize within the next year or so.

  25. I thought about that earlier since Corsair is already there, Volume should be low enough to make it work.

  26. I doubt that very much as guilt free performance will be used to encourage even more buyers away from ICEs

  27. Yea that was my thinking, that the info just hasn't been updated yet being that they were an option for the 22 builds. I'll probably grab a set when I get a delivery date for my truck. If they don't work I'm sure I can unload them to someone with a 21.

  28. So after visits with police, and my local body shop, I have a much better understanding of the issue. Inside the door handle there are three nylon clips that hold the cylinder in place. Pull out the handle, apply vice grips and a good solid twist and snap, ten seconds and they’re in. Ford trucks are a target in SA because they’re so damn easy. Solution? Passenger handles are reversible to drivers side but have no cylinder. Yes they can still break the windows but I don’t want to be a target just cuz it’s so damn simple. Only challenge is if your battery completely dies you can’t get in. Working on engineering some leads that run down to the frame so I can connect jumper cables without the hood open.

  34. Came into the forums to post a picture of our King Ranch Explorer that Cyberdman had helped us track through the build to delivery... only to discover he is gone, as is the invaluable service he provided to all of us all these years! He has helped me track our 17 F350, 19 Mustang CS/GT and now the Explorer... end of an era... So if by chance he can see this post, I will attach the picture to hold up my end of the deal! Additionally I included the picture of the 4WD emblem on the back - lol... it's just a RWD not a 4WD... haha the emblem robot got carried away on this one! Thank you @cyberdman, good luck, you'll be missed!

  35. And that’s what Farley is looking to stamp out, that kind of excessive mark up damages Ford’s reputation. Without current supply issues, it’s easy to imagine the US auto industry would be running white hot with record sales.

  39. I’ve often wondered about the CD6 Edge and Ford’s claim that it wasn’t viable due to costs when Edge sells in similar price bracket to the larger Explorer. Maybe Ford has hopes of moving Edge buyers into Fusion Sport or maybe the Explorer at a similar price?

  40. \ Ordered 1-27-22, took delivery 5-5-22. Smashed the 5-6 month estimate tho the salesman said he is telling people 12 months now, and that Antimatter Blue is not being offered on the 23's.

  41. Geez, it has to be really frustrated to work at Ford right now. Especially as an engineer or designer. It seems like they keep making plans for future products, developing these vehicles for months or years, and then canceling them. The Lincoln rivian thing which was apparently spectacular looking, the bronco pickup, the fusion active, the next gen edge, and countless other programs we don't know about.

  44. Picked up my F350 Monday afternoon. Two days shy of 6.5 months from order. According to the dealer this is the first dually they have had on the lot in months and they had several people try to buy it. I am happy to report that the dealer experience was very good. I was expecting to have to argue the X plan, military $500, and price protection to order date but they had all the paperwork ready and had it all covered ? In and out fairly quickly (about 1.5 hrs) and we are very happy with it. Now to get 1000 miles on it so I can tow for a pre-planed planned trip

  46. 2022MY Super Duty - Product Change - Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor ACTION REQUESTED • Please be advised of a product offering change on Super Duty SUMMARY The automotive industry continues to be confronted by supply chain shortages of a wide variety of components used to manufacture Ford vehicles. As a way for customers to get their Super Duty trucks sooner, Ford is implementing a change on all Super Duty trucks with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke Diesel Engine. Beginning May 6, 2022, all Super Duty trucks built at Kentucky Truck Plant equipped with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke Diesel Engine, including retail, fleet and stock orders will be produced without the Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor in the exhaust system. Beginning June 10, 2022, all Super Duty trucks built at Ohio Assembly Plant equipped with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke Diesel Engine, including retail, fleet and stock orders will be produced without the Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor in the exhaust system. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The PM Sensor is used for On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) purposes only to detect and report changes in the emissions control performance and does not impact the emission level of the vehicle. Customers will be able to operate the vehicle normally without the PM Sensor. Super Duty trucks built without a PM sensor are certified for sale in the United States, including states that adhere to the California emissions standards, with a condition that a sensor be installed at no charge at a later date. REPAIR PROCESS Parts are projected to be available in Fall 2023; however, due to the uncertainty surrounding global supply constraints, this timing could be extended. Ford Motor Company will contact affected customers once the PM sensor becomes available, and installation will be completed at the customer’s local dealer at no additional cost to the customer. CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM Customers purchasing a Super Duty built at Kentucky Truck Plant with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke Diesel Engine built on or after May 6, 2022 must sign a PM Sensor customer acknowledgement form. Customers purchasing a Super Duty built at Ohio Assembly Plant with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke Diesel Engine built on or after June 10, 2022 must sign a PM Sensor customer acknowledgement form.

  47. F150 Powerboost 2021 Lariat with Max Tow package. I have been back to dealer service many times trying to get the very clunky 1-3 shifting under control. As well as Pro Power disabled fixed, brake controller recall, trailer plug reattached to bumper, wiper gears and or motor replaced and screen constantly rebooting. First order of business was the grinding and clunking noise that had developed in the rear hub. Tech discovered the axle bolt sheared off and flopping freely inside the wheel. Unfortunately the axle has to be replaced. The part in on back order until mid to late June and the dealer says the vehicle is too dangerous to drive. This will keep them from diagnosing any of the other problems until the axle is fixed. IMG_6277.mov
