  1. Challenge accepted. I squeezed 20 bags of top soil into my Focus once.

  2. No, it makes it a bad choice for people who tow heavy loads long distances. Easily 75% of F150 buyers don’t do that so Lightning is a perfect fit for them.

  3. Because Ford made a big deal about how you can still use it for truck stuff. Granted it’s one video of real world evidence but so far it seems to be not very good at truck stuff and merely a means of getting from A to B.

  4. Your Dealer's behavior and lack of action proves all everything that's been said in the reply posts made. Sales manager hung up on you? Inexcusable! You should have gone over his head and talked to either the general manager or the Dealer Principal. Priority 12 after all that time? Incompetence and complete ignorance.

  5. Your dealer is full of shit. Ford makes the highest margin on high trim level trucks. They’ll build every Lariat, KR, Platinum, and Limited truck they can get parts for. You need to call the sales manager and ask what priority code you’re at. If the answer isn’t a confident “02”, they failed to advocate for your order. I would absolutely order with someone else if they didn’t even get your priority upgraded after 8 months.

  6. Which pretty much makes a truck the absolute worst choice for a BEV.

  7. But they also generate a lot of additional drag, which eats into range. I wouldn’t mind seeing a chart of how much different it is from a gas powered vehicle. I’ve seen reports of gas powered vehicles getting sub-10 MPGs towing things, which isn’t optimal either. And I’m going to assume that the vast majority of lightings are going to be used as passenger vehicles 95% of the time. But that also goes in to the augment of buying a vehicle that meets your needs and not your wants either.

  8. I would hardly consider an aluminum trailer with a Model A on it a heavy trailer.

  9. Sounds like Dealer BS. The price protection is a separate matter and shouldn't be affected by anything else. Read the offer closely.

  11. Ford is doing 2022MY Super Duty "Balance Out" scheduling now with scheduling expected to be completed within the next 2-3 weeks. That's the only information available right now. I don't expect to see any other information prior to a notice that the "Balance Out" scheduling has been completed. Contact information for Ford Regional representatives is for Dealer use only. It's your Dealer's responsibility to contact their Ford Zone Manager and/or the Regional Scheduler for assistance in expediting the scheduling of your order. Without other information, your Dealer should have been advocating on your behalf on a continuous basis. "Unscheduled/Clean" only means that the order is clean, without errors, and can be scheduled. It's still subject to commodity and plant constraints, etc. Your Dealer has access to the applicable commodity and plant constraints specific to your order via the AM Scheduling Preview Reports.

  16. Since most TT's & 5th wheels are already operated at, or above GVWR, what are they going to remove to provide weight space for the batteries - smaller tanks, less structure, etc? If they are providing power for additional boondocking, you require more tank capacity, not less. Otherwise, the only option is to increase RV's GVWR, which requires more truck to pull them. Clearly BEV's, at this time, can't handle towing any additional weight.

  17. How many times have you gone in person to force a response? They’re clearly blowing you off. I understand you may not be seeking a conflict, but you can’t let someone treat you like that. It only reinforces their belief that they can push you around. I would have been at the store within the hour after someone hangs up on me like that. Not to start a fight, but to train them like a dog that the only way to make me go away is to give me what I want. The current approach is clearly not getting you anywhere. You’re on the verge of being cancelled and pushed to a 2023. The only way you’re getting built now is if your dealer convinces their zone manager to fix this.

  18. I ordered a 2022 Star White KRU F250 on 4 Jan from a central Texas dealer. I received the email confirmation of my order on 5 Jan. I've followed up on the order multiple times (four in-person visits and multiple emails). I was in the dealerhsip on 21 September and the sales manager was out. I went back to the dealrehsip yesterday (28 Sept) and talked to the sales manager. He checked the vehicle visibility report and made the folllowing comment "I didn't know we had one ( an order) this old" . I reminded him I sent multiple emails to the sales person and he said "I read them". He immediatley sent an email to the regional rep to determine why my order wasn't moving. He said he would contact me as soon as he heard from the regional rep. I was seething when I left the dealerhsip and will never use them again. This failure to monitor special orders smacks of incompetence and complete disregrad for good customer service. WIth the shortage of new cars on the lots sales managers have little to do. The least they can do is monitor orders. I was seething when I left the dealreship and will never use them again. Additionally, I will report this poor customer service to the general manager, regional management and corporate management. If my 2022 isn't built and I need to order a 2023 I will use another dealer.

  19. First of all the Lightning in Hoovies video is a standard range, so it isn't going to have all that much range to begin with. 2nd point is towing anything cuts your range in half, just look at all the fuel mileage testing on gas pickups. The only difference between BEV and gas is the speed of the fill-up. Larger heavy duty trucks don't suffer as much as the engines tend to not be very efficient at lighter loads because they are optimized for under load conditions. So they don't suffer as much of a drop in fuel efficiency when towing. The standard range Lightning would be like having an gas F-150 with only a 13 gallon tank.

  20. In addition to what "Road Turtle" wrote... From what you've stated, your Dealer obviously made little effort to manage your order and use their resources and available contacts to help expedite your order scheduling. And at this point it's a bit late as Ford is in the process of completing the "Balance Out" scheduling for 2022MY Super Duty's. If anything, Ford makes every effort to build as many higher trim models (Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch, etc.) as possible because of the profits. Your Dealer is making excuses and doesn't have a clue. Find another Dealer!

  24. Your dealer is an idiot. Has the dealership asked ford for priority to be moved to "2"? Are you sure it's been entered as a retail order? Did you get an email acknowledging your initial order? Personally, I'd find another dealer on 10/20 and order a 2023.

  25. Yes, same as now with 6.2 vs 7.3 but you watch Ford spin this with new 6.8 & 10R100 as big improvement over 6.2 & 6AT. This could also be cover for Silverado 2500 with 6.6 v8 gas engine….

  26. Yes, but for some reason the 7.3L chain drive oil pump is a 1:1 ratio to the crank. Maybe because of the pump's variable displacement design?

  29. The pro power gadget is just an inverter. The reveal said “5 times more power than the competition” which can also be Ford since we already have a built-in 400w inverter (5x400=2,000). You can add your own 2,000 watt inverter for under $200. Anything more really needs a hybrid powertrain like the F150 with the 7,200 w. It is a feeble attempt at a useful feature, but fails miserably to fulfill the whole idea of the new Super Duty being built for work.

  30. why would there be mention of them? They’re unrelated. — I think it looks good overall, though like on the GM trucks, I hate the “punch out” look of the corner steps with the black plastic inserts. I feel like they’d look better with a body/chrome color interior, but I understand that’d likely be much more complicated production wise.

  36. How about if it makes it as a base V-8 at much less cost than the 6.2??? A wild thought that it may make sense on the pure economics? Less cost without giving away a lot of performance?? Why did the 7.3 kill the V-10????
