This is an actual sketch for the bronco. But if they gave it slightly softer, more elegant surfacing like that sketch has, a fixed roof with a much nicer interior and vastly improved NVH, this thing would be awesome. A Lincoln g-wagon rival that started at like 70-80 grand instead of the 130 or whatever the g starts at would make a killing on the market.
This looks pretty good. Bronco meets the personal luxury car. I think using some 60s Continental cues would look very appropriate. Also a retractable glass roof is a must. It needs to be seen as something other than a budget G wagon though.
Conceptually I like this idea. How difficult would it be to make a permanent roof on the bronco in order to make this design work? A design like this would be competitive with the new Toyota Land Cruiser/Gx and Land Rover Defender 110/130.
I was scrolling through social media this morning and saw a clip from Doug DeMuro regarding this. The point was brought up that the G-Class is a significant seller for Mercedes and a lot of it is because of its retro styling built around capability, essentially what the Bronco already is. Seems like it could be easy for Lincoln to make a luxury version without coming across as phony.
Subaru has a lot of brand loyalty, so I can see current owners trading for this. It's not as though the current ones are selling because of their handsome looks.
Interesting info presented in a horrible chart. They don't explain what the white box/percentage meant vs. the gold unless you look at the data on the next page.
Regarding the data, it does make sense, as pointed out with Expy, Explorer, and of course, F-series models, not to mention things like Raptor, etc.
