  1. BUT - at greatly reduced velocity. Every manufacturer (except maybe the Hyundai/Kia conglomerate) are putting the brakes on their planned EV investments, and are actively steering investment back towards ICE and hybrid/plugin hybrid vehicles. The mass market adoption assumption that drove investment earlier this decade has been undermined. Not saying I agree, just observing what virtually every company are doing these days.

  2. Expedition had a separate liftglass for years and has had a power liftgate.

  3. As an Edge, MKX and Nautilus owner and longtime forum and FB group up moderator I can assure you that’s an incorrect assumption.

  4. Dropping the Escape, Taurus, Edge are/were some of the dumbest moves Ford has ever made. If I didn't know better, I'd call it corporate sabotage.

  6. To come to Ford's defense, a bit, there's a corresponding article on this in today's Detroit News (behind paywall). It was mentioned that several suppliers for the cancelled Oakville 3-row BEV were especially disgruntled. I'm sure their sour grapes carried over into this survey.

  7. The good part is that a delay buys Ford time and with the way things are changing recently, that’s a precious commodity when it comes to making Product decision. Keeping Escape around also keeps the hybrid version as something they don’t have in Bronco Sport. Longer term, I would love to see Escape and Edge replaced by 76” wide 2 row SWB and a 3-row LWB on same platform much like Ford China with Equator and Equator Sport (Teritory) Not saying those exactly but proper C2s using that idea. There’s gotta be a way to round up all the nice, viable C2 possibilities into a plant like Louisville and move CE1 to a better facility.

  9. Maverick is not as affordable as it once was, and that was before tariffs on Mexico. Conquest rate may decline if prices keep going up. Granted, Ford is likely making much more profit on Maverick than at first when priced at +/- $20k.

  10. Respectfully, while the maverick is a low cost vehicle like the focus and fusion were, I don't see it as a direct replacement for those vehicles. Some of those owners transitioned into a maverick for sure, but many of them are looking at other brands now because they want a sedan body style.

  11. Maybe they're realizing the escape brings more to the table than they originally thought and they're trying to extend the life of the current gen to give them more time to come up with a suitable replacement.

  12. Got in a new E-350 cutaway at work and I thought the passenger side fender badge was missing as it’s always been there. Looked online and to my surprise they actually deleted the badge to just drivers side which looks stupid and very cheap.
