I am not on the fence. That thing is F'ing ugly. The Edge front end is equally fugly also. That design needed to have died yesterday and here is it continuing on. Those headlights are an epic failure.

When I went into the plant yesterday the flat top conveyor was indeed no longer rusty and was spruced up with a coating on it.

I wonder if that Raptor Ranger is the one with the huge dent on the passenger rear door (it appears to RHD) I seen on I-94 a few weeks back. I was thrilled to see it, Then I seen it. Now as a twist compare a Cmax IP to a Escape IP. Now that is more of a carbon copy than Expedition to F150 of prior years all damn day.

I won't pretend that the Expe and F150 dash you mention were far from the same thing. Very little swapped over. I worked in one of Fords old interior parts plants for many years, I know Ford IP's very well. Did it share some of the design DNA? Sure. Far from a carbon copy though.

Expedition hasn't shared a F150 dash since 2002. But it wouldn't surprise me if Ranger and Bronco weren't very close.

All I can tell you, Is there was a ROW Ranger inside of MAP today. 2.2L 6 speed manual left hand drive. It had with it the two NA prototypes built onsite not long ago (Crew and extended). And a Colorado Z71 on the other side of the room. Fuzzy get to the event center early! lol

Rear is fixed on Vista also. The Ranger "might" have a "hole" in the cab once Bronco comes online. The plant is not being set up for it for Ranger launch.

The 2.7 is a pretty narrow engine. I think I mentioned previously that the 3.5L ecoboosts from a SHO and F150 use totally different turbos. So you probably wouldn't need a new head. Just new turbos for a Ranger 2.7L. (most if not all 2.7L pictures on google show the F150's version) I would imagine this small case refers to the bell housing. I am sure you are aware Ford had 3 different bell housing sizes for a C4 and C6. Sure those were removable and interchangeable for the C4 where the 10R80's bell isn't removable. I would not doubt that the small case could handle far more power than it is rated for. Ive seen stock 6R80 run into the high 9's. I won't mind if the 2.3L was the only engine in the speculated U.S. Ranger Raptor if the rated power is good enough. I have agree with you though, A 2.7L would be cool. Slap a single outlet deep sounding cat back on there!
