  1. Here. Still own car. 57.5K. Garaged. 740 miles last year. Put new carpet and 4pt. cage back in. Only one track day last year. Run's like a top. MK
  2. This topic comes up every new model year.....The same answers come up too, except you guy's missed the one about helping radio reception since there was a ground strap on some of them. I've been running without mine for 7 years, and the paint is still good on top. The underside paint was never that great since they did not paint it that well, but then I'm sure they don't expect us to actually drive them like they are supposed to be driven........ On the '99 Cobra hood we have the inverted vent/duct/opening. When washed or rained on the insulator got wet. When removed the water does not get on the engine, so no damage there either. Do what you want to do, but take care if you remove it incase you change your mind. Have fun.
  3. Transman is telling it like it is. You guy's really do need to try cruising around in a 7000 pound truck with real power. I really shouldn't drive a diesel the way I do, but then again, I can fix it if I have to, and I know of a great transmission shop. Still have the '99, but the new truck has only let me drive the Cobra 900 miles this year.
  4. Check the fluid level. While checking the level, make sure the float inside the reservoir moves freely. When was the last time you changed your brake fluid, pads, etc.? Mike
  5. The R model is the only "Exclusive" SVT model. I too have been asking this question. What would you rather have though? An autographed Shelby GT500, and never drive it, or a Y2K R? If an investment, then what....In 40 years, when you can't push the clutch in anymore......Someone else will have to drive it onto the auction block at Barret Jackson. I still like the R, and basing the cost of either car today as being the same, $40 to $50K spent today will be better invested on a house. (Can't believe I wrote that). Where's Norm, and the Mike's? We need another canyon run.
