  1. We don't know that is case or not. Shit happens sometimes.
  2. They where supposed to build a bunch of wind farms off the coast of NJ, but they got all killed off, but the most important issue was financing...they couldn't do it at the rates we have now vs what was around 5-10 years ago.
  3. That is part of the problem with using more standardized powertrains...larger amount of vehicles using it mean more recalls.
  4. IMO the front end is the weakest part and generally its just a Fox body plumped up a bit. It really isn't all that different from the Fox of the era I can see them maybe sharping the lines up on the current Mustang to give them more a creased look vs being rounded out.
  5. Auto manufactures don't care what you think, they have/had to meet CAFE requirements. Your wants and needs aren't want the auto industry needs to do.
  6. This was making the rounds on social media recently I like the flanks of it, but the in upper photo it looks like it has a green house of a EXP and not a 1985+ Mustang
  7. Well the notice is showing up in my Fordpass App now also and Carfax send me an email about it. Now to just wait and see when they get the repair for it.
  8. The Escape had the 2.0l Ecoboost and the Bronco Sport she has now has the 1.5L Ecoboost. Performance accelerating from say 10-60 MPH is roughly the same. It is slightly slower at higher speeds.
  9. Crap....I've been noticing that my Bronco has been running ever so slightly rough in the hot weather we've been having...this would explain that. And I fall into that range.
  10. I liked the 2015 redesign and the 2018 went backwards IMO. I like the S650, it looks far better in person then in photos.
  11. But that was the whole point of the Skunkworks team-relying on legacy suppliers like they've been doing for 50+ years that don't have the skills for EVs is part of the problem. But anyways I believe your last line.
  12. Given all the headlines Ford has gotten, has it really hurt their business? Not saying it hasn't, but nor is it all gloom and doom like say Nissan, who seems to be circling the drain at this point.
  13. I've yet to see one of those or the new EV Challenger/Charger in my area and I live in an area with good EV sales.
  14. I was speaking of the physical footprint, not the chemistry of it.
  15. But here is the thing-if you buy something that is 10 years old, even as an ICE, you run into the issue of getting parts for it and some can be mission critical that can make the car inoperable like if a battery failed. As for battery replacements-Battery cells follow standard sizing, but I also have no idea how they are connected together or if they can even been replaced easily if you needed to replace them (assuming not), if you need to open them up. EVs are on the bleeding edge to a point and having an expectation that they'll last 15 years at this point might be a bridge to far. I have this sneaking suspicion that Chinese EVs are designed to be disposable after 5-10 years of use, which is part of the reason why they are so "cheap"-just think of electronics-they last 5-10 years then wind up as landfill. I think that might be the mentality that their engineers are taking.
  16. The Bronco Sport is AWD only. The Maverick just got AWD Hybrid this model year. Also the CVT might not be up for surviving off road use either. The other issue is battery cell availability for hybrids. But there is zero reason it shouldn't get a hybrid model in the next 24-36 months IMO.
  17. My wife got a 2024 Bronco Sport to replace her 2017 Escape with the 2.0L Ecoboost and AWD. It has the same powertrain and there isn't a huge difference in performance. Gas mileage is much better-she was doing about 23 MPG with the Escape and now gets about 27, which equates out to cutting out 1-2 gas station refills a month for her.
  18. Replacement battery cells are expensive because there is no excess or even meeting demand for them in cars. That should improve as time goes on.
  19. The problem you have is with expectations-If your used to driving say a Focus or Fiesta sized vehicle in the EU...going to something smaller like what the Ka was is going to be a non-starter. The other issue is that EV are "expensive" to manufacture because they don't have the benefit of 80+ years of improvements that ICE engines have had. Its hard to make money on EVs when there isn't enough manufacturing capacity for cells for batteries, when an ICE engine can be built for say $1500 net price. The Chinese can sell cheap because they are getting subsidized by the CCP
  20. That I agree with...it seems like they have next to nothing coming out in the next 36 months.
  21. From what I can find, the skunkworks EV project started in 2022 sometime, was reported for the first time in 2024...so 5 years for a completely new platform and way of doing business designing it, isn't completely abnormal for the industry.
  22. I guess it all depends on the consumer reaction to it. Ford has been doing this stuff for years, but yet it doesn't seem to affect them? In grand scheme of things, most of this stuff is complete fluff that has almost no impact on user experience and existed to drive profit up as an option. Pricing is going to go up anyways. IMO I think we are hitting peak car options-extra cameras are nice, but at least in my view of things, its overkill-I felt like I was hitting information overload in a Santa Fe that shows the cameras on its screens when making turns etc.
