  1. I'll spell it out clearly for you, Spring 2027 is the first go date for China to take Taiwan That is why your seeing all this happening now.
  2. And you'd lose a huge part of manufacturing in the USA which wouldn't bode well for the country, but hey you want to buy some EV from China, so its all good...fuck everyone else.
  3. My buddy has one and has three different open recalls on it-I have two on my Bronco, but at least I don't have to worry about it catching on fire lol
  4. he's flubbed a couple different things over the past couple of months too.
  5. They sold 300-420K Ford Escorts in the 1980s, and its primary purpose was to be a CAFE offset to larger cars. Your missing the whole point-Companies EXIST to generate a profit for their stakeholders, not to be altruistic to the market. If you have limited resources, why are you going to focus on product that doesn't make money for you just to chase sales targets? Ask GM how well that worked out for them over the past 30 years. I like EVs but also realize that you have decades of people doing something and asking them to do something different just because is going to run into resistance. I work in the IT industry and I see reactions from people/family to minor changes that cause major reactions that I find incredulous, so I can just imagine how some of these people are reacting to EVs. Making EVs more affordable or roughly equivalent to their ICE contemporaries will go a long way in helping people change their minds.
  6. Well given what is being talked about in my world, you might only have about 24-30 months to do so.

  8. Why do you think there is no fear? Because the government is propping them up. The CCCP has repeatedly done this in many different sectors that makes it almost impossible for companies that actually have to answer for their failures to stakeholders. See the "Rare" Earths and Solar industries for examples of this. Its hard to compete against that.
  9. Well those patent drawings could be the CE1 going by the leaked photos
  10. While I'm a fan of a Mustang Sedan, that doesn't sound like it would be targeted as a Ford Racing product-it would be more like a Grand Tourer or Personal luxury car. But in the grand scheme of things where are the bread and butter products that Ford desperately needs?

  13. IMO it all boils down to affordability with EVs If Ford can make the T3 and sell it for lets say $50-60K decently equipped with about 300 miles of range, I think a lot of the concerns that people have about EVs will go away or not have as much pressure with people buying them. That is going to be the issue with EV adaption-pricing and being able to charge easily. Ford is providing chargers or what providing them with the Mach E and Lightning and I think they might have been subsidizing the installation costs to a point. As for the BOC plant, I'm sure that plan B or C is to add some sort of EREV production if needed to keep it busy
  14. I seriously doubt...its people just reading into things to make news and get paid by idiots clicking adverts.
  15. Sigh outside of a long distance driving, you wouldn't need to stop for a charge and well after driving 300 miles or so (roughly 5 hours behind the wheel) who wouldn't want to take a piss break and get something to eat that takes about 20-30 minutes to do? Its a consideration, but at the same time, if your only doing it maybe once or twice a year? what is the big deal?
  16. https://fordauthority.com/2025/11/ford-ceo-jim-farley-says-evs-will-be-small-part-of-u-s-market/
  17. Its a start, but it doesn't quite meet the criteria I set out. It needs to look more like an CUV/SUV, even though I do like the Mach E and wouldn't mind getting one, one day. I'm not gonna need a new car for a while, I still haven't even cracked 30K on my Bronco yet and it will be 4 years old next May! The other issue is the battery range and cost. I think the CE1 will hit those two metrics better.
  18. Once again, REVC only added 300 jobs to DTP/River Rouge complex Its part of DTP DTP can make about 300K units a year, so I'm sure that
  19. IMO I really don't think people give two shits about GHG or how miles per kWh vehicle makes....they want something that can go roughly the same distance as their ICE vehicle and maybe take a little longer to "fill up" on a long distance drive without driving a "shitbox" that looks like a toy. That is why my hill to die on is to make a C class CUV EV that costs less then $40K decently equipped that has about 300 miles of range
  20. REVC isn't that large, its just an addition to the plant, not its own assembly plant. BOC is a different story though.
  21. I often take what people say how "big" with a grain of salt too... A Maverick with a lift and bigger tires looks bigger then a Maverick does, but is the same "size" as one. I'm guessing that length wise is will be in between the Maverick and Ranger, but as narrow as the Maverick.
  22. Here is the problem-the CE1 is roughly the same size as a Ranger? I thought I saw that some place. There is only about 10 inches of difference in length between the Ranger and Maverick. The Ranger is 210 and the Maverick around 200. The Rivian R1T is 217 inches long The Lightning is 232
  23. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a65637114/ford-delays-next-gen-electric-truck-van/ So reading in between the lines on this-they will be starting production in roughly 24 months but full production won't hill till 2028 CY. But of course this is all subject to change....and try to think long term here-they might get a reprieve till 2029, but that could all change again then with a new administration.
  24. Well the T3 will start production in 2027 sometime...so its almost 2026, so seeing it cancelled by the end of next year wouldn't be too big of a surprise, esp if demand is low.
