  1. An I6 is bigger pain in the ass to add to engine packaging and crash cell issues then an I4 or a V6 would be the major issue. As for the all new Ecoboost I4-The original designs where based on Mazda JV engines from 15-20+ years ago, so they where due a major upgrade. They don't show any major improvement in MPG or performance, so like stated before-just keeping ahead of the emissions situation. The Mustang gets 1 MPG more on the highway and the Bronco actually loses 2 MPG city with the new engine (at least on Fuel Economy.gov) The 2.7/3L Nano Ecoboosts are "new" design that only came out 10 years ago.
  2. Its not like the mustang hasn't had white wheels before either https://fordauthority.com/2023/03/1992-ford-mustang-convertible-summer-edition-up-for-auction/
  3. Supposed to pay homage to the fox body, but not quite sure outside of the plaid seats I dig it though. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKmbf5EJ129/?igsh=cjR2NDl2bnNnZHI5
  4. Counterpoint-consumers really don't care? In the grand scheme of things ICE engines are nothing more then marketing exercises and at least in Ford's case, customers are willing to embrace say Ecoboost V6s in the F-150 vs Ram getting rid of the Hemi in the Ram 1500? Long term it makes sense, since ICE is going to just shrink and shrink as time goes on.
  5. I'm guessing that the pricing was due to demand and dealer markups. I haven't seen a huge demand for the Ranger Raptor like you did with the Braptor

  7. You sure do like to flip flop
  8. Not to mention some dumbasses don't even plug in their PHEVs I also work with someone who has a Chevy Volt and they charge it via 120v line because they don't drive it much at all either.
  9. Because they are perfectly fine in doing what they are doing because its not broken in their minds.
  10. But apparently Ford is lowering prices on the Bronco for example-I saw in B6G that the Raptor has come down 10k in 2025 and other trims have come down a bit also. Once again I think it’s being done intentionally to limit sales but not profits
  11. https://www.motor1.com/news/761706/2027-shelby-gt500-spy-shots/?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwKtathleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHgtvU3-eEhI1_oRc2TjcYAFwSxwDqvhjWPvyMqZvSSZbnIHP2BrPVc3EOmQD_aem_77rB3Z9urtn-v9Rg7fYeHg
  12. I think the bigger issue is just cost-if you can buy something for say 30-40mm that gets 250 miles of range, people would be more willing to give it a shot. Maybe if Ford includes help for adding a home charger like they are currently doing, that would help even more. There are a couple different things that are hanging up people and given the fact that the average car buyer is older and more conservative, it’s going to take more convincing for them to do it.
  13. Apparently it’s down to 85 as of 2024 Still best selling Sports car too, but no numbers released for the 2024MY. It was 59k units in 2023 and only 44k in 2024 in the NA market https://fordauthority.com/2025/04/ford-mustang-best-selling-sports-car-globally-in-2024/
  14. Its also part of the reason why the lineup needs to be expanded...thus the sedan and off road versions being rumored
  15. Huh that is interesting.... https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/our-work/programs/advanced-clean-cars-program/advanced-clean-cars-ii
  16. This might be partly due to Ford's own doing-the Mustang could be having an impact on CAFE for them and they are limiting sales? There was some sort of supplier issue the end of last year, so I'm not sure how much impact that is having saleswise.
  17. Your missing quite a bit-these are the states that use CARB: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington Plus why wouldn't they be able to sell the Escape in these states anyways?
  18. I was under the impression that (at least in the NA and EU markets) that widening a vehicle was more of an impact when it comes to collision standards then making it longer, thus why it wasn’t normally done. interior wise the territory and equator sport appear to be using the same center console that is found in the Mondeo/edge and the CN Bronco in the other thread. I know not much of a connection, but given how little difference there is between the Escape and Bronco Sport interior hardpoint wise, that might be another sign?
  19. I was looking at the specs of the Lincoln Nautilus and it’s roughly the same width as the Territory and Equator Sport. The Territory and Equator Sport have similar platform codes as the Nautilus also. Maybe we are looking at this the wrong way-the current Escape/Bronco Sport/Maverick are on the “narrow” C2 platform (72-74in wide) while the Territory/Equator Sport/Nautilus/Edge/Mondeo are the wide C2 variants that are 75-77 plus inches wide. So maybe there is more platform sharing going on then first meets the eye.
  20. But they didn’t state CY or MY either. The rumor was that the Escape would end production the end of this year, but the latest info now saying it will get a 2026MY, which means that after September of this year it can be called a 2026MY. My guess is that the Escape will remain in production for maybe another year from now and Louisville will shut down for retooling anywhere from March 2026 to June and spend the rest of the year retooling and maybe production restarting with the CE1 at the end of 2026 with a launch in January of 2027 or so of the new product. But then again I’m of the mindset of moving the CE1 to BOC and making C2 hybrids/EREVs at LAP instead. But we will see.
  21. I was doing some digging into the Territory and its wider then the current Escape-I wonder if its a SWB C2 platform shared with the Mondeo and Mondeo Sport? I'm also guessing Louisville isn't really an extension-just production will run a couple months longer before the retooling so people aren't laid off for 8-12 months. I'd expect the EVs to be coming out by the end of next year.
  22. Thanks China! https://carbuzz.com/features/9-chinese-copycat-cars-that-angered-automakers/
  23. They are based off a patent drawing So yeah this is what is going to look like 95% The C pillar is what really kills it.
  24. https://www.carscoops.com/2025/05/this-is-the-new-toyota-fj-cruiser-youve-been-waiting-for/ Kinda interesting-apparently roughly the size of a Bronco Sport with BOF construction Guessing it will be a hybrid so it doesn't impact their CAFE
