  1. Is it just me or does the green house look the same as the 08 Focus sedan greenhouse? Otherwise its a vast improvement styling wise over the current 3 or Focus :P
  2. And thats a bad thing? :P
  3. Not as much as oversight, as much as not having an understanding at the time of doing it, the F-102 was designed in the late 1940's early 1950s in the infancy of SuperSonic design... Hell look at the X-1...its shape was based on the .50 cal Bullet!
  4. Wow that is fucking ugly.... I still dont see the US going whole sale over to B sized cars...the meat of the market will still be C or CD sized cars which get decent MPG's
  5. Thanks for proving again that your a fucking moron...and I didn't even need to call you out this time Just remember this....reading is fundamental and you see I never called you out by name on the 30 MPG Panther claims
  6. keep in mind this EPA reported numbers, not what you can get out of the car, which might be better due to conditions the car is being driven (like flat terrain and no acceleration)....plus we get I can get 30 Mpg out of my panther claims around here all the time when its only rated 23 MPG by the EPA..
  7. The problem is that people are far too hung up on it, not to say its not important, but its also not the only benchmark of success....
  8. The thing is that we do, why do we have so many students from India, China, etc coming to our Colleges and Universities? People get far too hung up manufacturing, matter of fact to get out of developing nation status, you need to have service related jobs to do so..thats why China and India are still considered developing nations by the UN and other bodies.
  9. Like the vast majority of posters on here
  10. And your point being? I bet if I put a pretty blue Mustang out there she would like that...
  11. And all this coming from someone who doesn't own one nor owns car made this century...
  12. Gotta love the generatilites thrown around this place..the only reason the GM is the best selling Mercury product is that its been its longest running nameplate...not because its something "special"
  13. I think the biggest question of the hour is how a new smaller Mercury will affect smaller Fords. Will the Small Ford's be artificially limited in options like they have been in the past?
  14. I'd like to see you prove that..an CV with no extra weight over the rear wheels vs a AWD Taurus in about 2-3ft of snow on the ground.
  15. Its a pretty substantial change, think the Kinetic look opening from Europe on the bottom...
  16. But the point your missing is that the newer cars will be tailored for the market, I dont think anyone is expecting the same exact car as what is sold in Europe to sell in the States. There will be regional changes done for them...not to mention Europe is moving closer to American tastes in size of cars vs being stuck in a small ass car. The Focus was a pretty successful car that came over from Europe, even though it was launched horribly and decontented to hell Plus the point I was making is that there is no need to have say 2 full teams of CD sized car engineers working on the same type car. You split the teams down the middle or pick and choose who you want to design the car and make sure part of the team is from each region the car is sold in so they can put in what would work in that market vs other ones within reason.
  17. Only thing that sucks is the stick is limited to the SE...can't get it in the SEL...maybe that will change next year
  18. Well from what I understand, Ford can only officially use MPG ratings done by the EPA...but I'm in the same boat as you, I find that my MPG numbers on my Mustang are closer to what the old ratings are vs the new ones. I guess the "unwashed masses" don't know how to drive, thus the grumbling about the old ratings, not to mention how Hybrids did too well on the old cycle.
  19. More FUD from the moron, Anyways a loaded MKZ is BELOW 40...it tops out at 37K or so As for its sales, I would say the profit margin on a nearly 35K of them sold last year (up 3.8% from last year also) on a "cheap" rebadged Fusion that starts at 17K or so is pretty damn big. As for the MKZ going to the GRWD platform...Why? The ES330, based on the lowly "Camry" platform is on of Lexus's best sellers outside of the RX. There needs to be an entry level Lincoln, leave the GRWD for the MKR which would start in the high 30s. I don't think there is much over lap as you make it out to be with the Milan and MKZ, plus Ford could always limit the Milain to I4 engines when the Ecoboost comes on line to futher seperate the two.

    XM Radio

Sirius/XM has already stated that you wont have to buy any new equipment when they do merge...which should be very shortly since the FCC just ok it..
  21. That wear and tear only happen on cold engine start ups (lack of oil around pistons). Not to mention when Fuel injection is used, it wastes hell of alot less gas then a carb engine does on start up.
  22. Whats the point in repeating operations though out the world doing the same thing 2-3x over and wasting money?
  23. This better mean that the Fusion Hybrid gets somewhere in the mid 40's for MPG City or at least high 30s in the city
  24. Wow you are an idiot...your son won't be able to do that now by swinging the door open on the GM Maybe if you told/showed him how to open a door on a car carefully you won't have to worry about that
  25. For everyone bitching about the lack of sliders...well the lack of sliders sure as hell didn't have any impact on the sales of millions of Explorers and other SUV's out there in the Mid-1990's...which market grew and which market shrunk in the same period of time? Here's a hint...it wasn't SUV's and currently it doesn't look like people are flocking to Minivans even with higher gas prices...
