  1. Fair enough 95% of this forum is opinions and I hear the responses loud and clear. Ill be more sensitive next time I critique something to keep the peace:)
  2. I am not evading anything. I've shared my comments and taken shit for it-good or bad. Done.
  3. What a stupid comment. If Ford thought it was such a great design they would of kept it the same in the F250. I pointed out that you cannot easily see what gauge you are looking at and that all they needed to do was make the gauge needle thinner. It is my right to point things out, if you don't agree, so be it. But I am not going to give passes when things don't make sense.
  4. Are you a tech? If so it would be logical to you but I should just be able to look at the gauge and not think C/H L/O or whatever. I could look at 100 IPs and Ill damn near guarantee none of them will cover the icon with the needle. All they have to do is make the needle same size as it is for the Speedo and RPM. Its just a piss poor design.
  5. This design makes sense since the icons for the gauge are visible. On my buddies F250 XLT they changed the gauge needle so it is more easily read. Wonder if it is the same IP supplier for the 150 and 250? My gut says yes but not sure.
  6. I was trying to upload a pic but was having issues. Lol. Ok you have a new XLT I think? Top gauges-gas, coolant, etc are at the top. The width of that gauge is so wide that after it gets to normal operating temps you cannot tell which gauge is coolant and which one is engine pressure etc. you know your truck so it is a moot point. But Ford obviously saw the issue and changed it on the F250and Expedition. Small thing but it Should of never been built this way.
  7. Thanks for clarifying how you use it. Still not sure how it matters on a auto but maybe Im missing something.
  8. Ummm Ive had plenty of trucks and think I would understand so not sure your point. It is an automatic transmission and how would you use that function? Manual and towing I get it but it means nothing in auto mode to me.
  9. Saw this article and did not get much out of it. Had a F150 rental last week in MI that served as a great family hauler. It was a XLT and performed and drove well. But the interior to me is a big let down. Know i am in a XLT but not a fan of the design and layout. Hate the center stack with all the numbers for the radio. I've bitched about it before and realize this is subjective. My 18 year old daughter made a comment about the inside (totally un-provoked by me) that it just looked old. Two additional comments. The center cluster between the speedo and RPM threw me off because it kept showing most of the times a 10 in upper left. My thought and same as my wife that it is the screen I am on-but flipping thru various screens did not change. Finally realized it was what gear I was in. WTF do I want to know what gear my auto is in? Nobody ever shows that and it is useless. If I was in sport mode or a Mustang, maybe but just in auto to show it is stupid. Plus the top gauges indicators completely suck. They are wide and cover the pic of what that gauge is for. I saw on my buddy's F250 they made them way thinner and in the Expedition i rented they are digital.
  10. A lot of their ability to pull out a late come back rests equally upon their dealer network. They are in the small towns where you don't find a Toyota or Honda dealership and also duke it out in the metro areas with the big boys.
  11. That is funny as shit! Good to know they can handle the land deals properly and fuck up their automotive business:)
  12. Well I like the idea of the simplification in package ordering and think it was long overdue, the resale value for these cars is going Drop like a rock. Not sure anyone in their right mind would spend $41k on a Fusion GT. Maybe $30 and even then I would be nervous. Why they made an announcement to kill the fusion 2-4 years before they do, that has to be one of the stupidest decisions Ive seen in awhile. I was talking with a dealer principal today who owns several International truck dealerships but also a Ford commercial truck store and he was surprised how this was handled.
  13. Been watching that develop lately and good to see. The current owners are pieces of shit and it will be interesting to see what Ford has planned. Every time I travel up to Detroit that building just looms in the background.
  14. Please tell me you work for Ford and all will be forgiven? This "Fit" phrase is literally the one of the stupidest things i have heard watching this industry, and only picked up since he joined the company by all his lieutentants. I'm glad you think he is a rock star but you are way more of the exception. So if Toyota is in a major crisis mode, they are also redoing the Corolla, the Camry, the Avalon, coming out with a new Supra, just introduced a ton of new Lexus sedan models......so they see the fight differently. Not saying one is right and another is wrong, but Toyota will kick Ford's ass all over the place at the gym and in earnings. If this guy is still at Ford in the next 24 months I will be shocked-hopefully I am wrong, but if anything, Hackett needs to go on nutri-systems and get his on commercial, away from Ford.
  15. You guys are both correct and make some good points. I grew up in metro Detroit and remember the strong anti import feelings for anyone not buying domestic. After I got out of Michigan in 82 I was less jaded and definitely think the imports made everyone a better company. Not sure what the sedan market will look like either in 5-10 years but think it will still be very relevant. I get a comoany car-Passat- for work. They are less expensive to operate and keep on the road than a SUV. That commercial market is huge! And Ford wont convert those fleets into a Escape or a Focus of any meaningful quantities. Talk about opening the doors to your competitors.
  16. Good post and you are spot on. Will be interesting to see but the thing I like about GM is that they are offering their new engine in several models. Not sure if they will require you to get an upgraded engine like Ford does when you get floor mats or a power sliding rear window or not? I hate the required package options when you may not want one bit get forced to take it cause you want leather seats, etc. But that is a whole other discussion!
  17. And I got a bigger.....oh ya forgot I was in junior high with some of these guys here. My post was spot on and never mentioned who was outselling who. It was responding to an earlier post about someone thinkg GM is running into the ground while ignoring industry facts and some opinions that are pretty non biased. Im hardly a GM fan but recognize what the hell is going on today. Jeez guys come on. Give credit where credit is do. You sound like some crazy Lions fan talking about the Barry Sanders era.
  18. What are you taking about? How do you know how this engine will perform? Have you driven it or heard a review? And if you think GM is running itself into the ground as they outposition, outearn Ford you are just blind. Im not a GM fan but their senior leadership is kicking ass and for the most part are making all The right moves. Are they perfect and have the best products? Hardly but they are way better positioned than Ford is today. By a mile. Come on. Quit drinking the kool aid.
  19. Not a big GM fan but like this move and think it makes a lot of sense.
  20. What if they could buy a 50 MPG Hybrid Fusion instead? Why not give them the option of buying both?
  21. I guess its a good thing when we can bitch about cup holders! The last generation we would of had a list a mile long.
  22. I might be wrong but I think that gear placement is not digital-it is identical in damn near everything Ford has been putting out the past few years and not all of their product has a digital center gauge layout. Not a big deal either way, my point was that it would be nice for them to differ the styling of that component.
