  1. If they had offered a non-removable top on the Bronco, my brother would have chosen that option. He will never remove the top.
  2. I have a 2018 Ecoboost Mustang with the Performance Package. After 6 years, I still enjoy driving it. It doesn’t sound as good as a Coyote, but that’s okay. It makes a great daily driver.
  3. Regular Corsairs have the tach in Excite mode. There is also an option in the settings to display the tach in all modes. Maybe the hybrid Corsair also has that option.
  4. Rivian’s truck is really more of a midsize truck, so they wouldn’t have the market completely to themselves.
  5. We usually drive my wife’s Corsair. I put 370-390 miles on a tank of gas. That means I fill up about twice a month, which is a minor inconvenience. When I am by myself, I take my Mustang. I put 290-310 miles on a tank, so I fill it up twice a month. However, I can take either car on a trip and not worry about where to refuel or how long it will take. That convenience is worth the quick trips to the gas station for our routine driving. Final note: I like EV’s. The adoptions required are more than I want to make right now. Our next car purchase is probably another 6-8 years away. I suspect it will be an EV. They should have resolved my concerns by then.
  6. Why would I want to pay more for a vehicle that I have to adapt to? Charging time and initial cost will eventually be resolved. Until then, I (and a lot of other people) aren’t interested in a BEV.
  7. I agree that the Edge has always been positioned as a more premium product than the Escape. We had a 2011 Edge. My wife drove a new Edge before we bought the Corsair. She thought the new Edge was too much like our 13 year old Edge and immediately dropped it from consideration. It really didn’t feel as premium as it used to.
  8. Agreed. We’ve only had our Corsair for 4 months but I really like the positioning of the screen and overall design. It’s layout is very similar to the layout in the new Explorer.
  9. We definitely have different standards. Anything over 7 seconds, maybe 7.5, is too slow for me. I don’t use that much acceleration all the time, but it is nice to have once in a while.
  10. I wasn’t claiming that the belt caused a problem. I was just pointing out that Ford has used a belt for the oil pump on multiple engines.
  11. Apparently, Ford also uses a belt for the oil pump in the 2.7. The same YouTube channel did a tear down on a 2.7 from an F150 and it used a belt for the oil pump. I’m not really sure why Ford, or anyone, would do that.
  12. My wife loves everything about the Corsair. She wouldn’t even look at the Escape. Most people would never guess they were on the same platform. Ford does a really good job of differentiating the Lincolns from the Fords now.
  13. Agreed. We bought a new Corsair in October and really like it. There is a noticeable difference between the Escape and the Corsair.
  14. We usually keep our cars at least 10 years. Actually, 12-14 years is my preference. I’ve never leased a car.
  15. I didn’t see anything about there being no fix yet. Did I miss that somewhere?
  16. I also have both the 8F35 and 10R80. I did have to have the 10R80 in my Mustang reflashed at around 42,000 miles due to harsh shifting. It’s been fine since then. I have a little over 79,000 miles on it now.
  17. We’ve got it in the Corsair. Only have about 2,200 miles on it, but it’s been good so far.
  18. The 2.0 is surprisingly quick in the Corsair. I would expect it to be perfectly fine in the Nautilus.
  19. On our new Corsair, I’ve noticed that CarPlay apparently has a night mode. The screen isn’t nearly as bright at night. Maybe that’s a feature that Sync 4 has available that earlier versions didn’t have. I haven’t used CarPlay at night in my Mustang recently. I’ll check that out later this week.
  20. I realize the e-CVT is a different animal than regular CVT’s. I just prefer gears. For this reason, I would absolutely consider a hybrid Ranger. Back on topic: I think it would be smart for GM to roll out some hybrid models.
  21. I didn’t realize the hybrid cost more now. That would work better for me. The 2.0 Ecoboost is faster than the hybrid and doesn’t use a CVT. Based on reviews, the hybrid is a bit slower than I would like and I’ve never cared for the sound/feel of a CVT. Disclaimer: We probably won’t buy another new vehicle for about 6-7 years. My preferences and options may be noticeable different by then.
  22. To be fair, our 2011 Edge averaged a little under 22 mpg over the life of the vehicle. If we had purchased a hybrid Camry, it would have reduced CO2 by about as much as Rick73 said.
  23. I’ve had my fair share of “why didn’t I think of that” moments. Developers and end users can have very different perspectives.
  24. Regular was $2.59 a couple of days ago. I always get premium, which is usually 75-80 cents more.
