Two thirds of the dealers. Interesting...

The point is your misquote makes the title argumentative, whereas the actual title is explanatory.

I’ve been wanting to find a SVO and put a driveline from a 2018+ EcoBoost mustang in it (preferably with the performance package tune) for a while now.

It is funny that that was my reaction as well, but with exception study was backwards looking when convenient and forward looking also when convenient.  My objection was they selected the most energy efficient BEV at the time (Tesla 3) for future estimates, and compared to backwards looking historical ICE data which included gas guzzlers.  That approach is biased in my opinion.

Estimates based on comparables, like Tesla 3 versus similar-size hybrids, is better but would yield different results.  Present-day hybrids already achieve twice the fuel economy of what was used in study if I recall correctly (in mid 20s).

Regarding California power generation goals, it seems very optimistic to me.  Regardless, even if they can achieve 100% by 2045, their plans are not necessarily applicable to other parts of country.  In the north, for example, peak solar in winter doesn’t produce nearly as much as in summer, while residential heating is more demanding than air conditioning in summer.  Also, details like heat pumps may not be as effective as in California, so heat may require much less efficient resistance heat.

I like BEVs a lot and don’t doubt California has good intentions.  However, they are not the center of the universe nor should they be seen as a role model for every other state in my opinion.

There have been tons of rumors about C2 products and exploding demand. Maverick is so popular they are looking to add that 3rd shift at Hermosillo but that may not be enough. I’ve heard rumors of Bronco Sport actually going to Louisville as well to allow for just Maverick production at Hermosillo to meet global demand. Wild stuff I know!

My point in quoting those 2 passages was to point out that it's not just the charging station issue the dealers are fighting, (some) dealers also are fighting Ford's ability to set margin on EVs. Granted that Ford are using the charging station issue to link to the margin change, but in the abstract, I can't see a situation where Ford would not be allowed to set whatever margin it desires, as long as all dealers are treated equally - perhaps that's the rub.

I understand your perspective, but there needs to be some kind of balance between the two in my opinion.  I’ve been waiting on my Raptor order for over a year. I now have the VIN but the Raptor is sitting on a holding lot somewhere, presumably waiting on parts. I understand we are living in somewhat extraordinary time s with the supply chain issues and that this is a specialty vehicle so it’s more unique, but I also know people who have waited a long time for standard orders that likely would have have bought one off the lot a lot had there been one. I believe there needs to be something on the lot for people to look at and those smaller inventories based on sales statistics or something.  Ford recently totted record numbers of orders, which is a self fulfilling record when there isn’t anything on the lot to buy.  Perhaps when the supply chain issue is resolved it won’t look like such a crap show, but right now the order process is not working well. And don’t get me started on the decontenting they are doing to try to build more vehicles.   It’s disgraceful at the prices they are charging nowadays.

Those early reviews were incorrect.  There are several drive modes that are available that will either run only ICE or only EV until the batteries are depleted.  These drive modes are accessed via a dial on the center console and show up on the drivers screen in the center.

The default mode is Normal and it will always revert to this mode once the vehicle is shut off.

So - this makes even more concrete the reason for selecting the Kentucky location for the twin battery plant (Louisville always had a future).
Does this also mean that OAC will definitely be getting GE2?

Not sure I agree with the (non)crash worthy premise. Look at the VW ID. Buzz. From my armchair arguing position, I would say that the passenger compartment is closer to the front end than the Tesla, yet it meets crash standards:

None of which addresses whether or not their processes and manufacturing are leading edge - as VW have now seemingly realized about their situation.. Is GM using their version of Tesla's gigapress? I doubt it. Having a bespoke EV chassis does not ensure world class cost structure, again as VW have apparently realized. GM 'engineering by press release' notwithstanding.

I decided to put this in the Ford discussion area because I think the issues being considered by Toyota are the same that Ford are considering (or should be).

This part reminds me a bit of the news that the Mach E chassis is being abandoned in favor of a 'next gen' (GEII?) EV chassis :
