Ford Interceptor Concept car....

If Ford had built the 427 as a full size car they would have killed the Chrysler 300. -
James Garner was a true Car Guy who did many of the driving scenes in the movie Grand Prix, drove the Indy 500 Pace Car 3 times and raced a couple of Olds 442s in the Baja off road races. http://phscollectorcarworld.blogspot.com/2012/06/lost-star-cars-james-garners-olds-442.html http://ls1tech.com/forums/automotive-news-media-press/1383264-hot-rod-james-garners-1970-oldsmobile-442-baja-race-car.html

RIP Nick... Passed away 7/15/14
Mark B. Morrow replied to PREMiERdrum's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Just got in and saw this. Very sad news. Nick was one of the good guys on BON. Condolennces to his family and friends. -
I agree with you grbeck. The Continental kits don't look right to me on cars that didn't come with them from the factory. Even the '56 T-Bird is less appealing to me than the '55 or '57 because of the Continental spare. It makes the car look heavy compared to the sporty look of the others. It is a great parody of the Seinfeld series.

Ford tops in Brand Loyalty
Mark B. Morrow replied to mackinaw's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
That's probably true. I know some former GM loyalists who call it Government Motors. I also know 2 former Toyota buyers who switched to Ford after the unintended acceleration issue. It can be hard to get someone who has been loyal to a brand to even consider changing. If Ford can keep new buyers happy, they have an opportunity to keep them as customers for years. -

That's great news. Repeat buyers are likely to recommend Ford to others. -

There used to be a lot of pro-choice Republicans like George H.W. Bush in 1980, Tom Ridge and most North-eastern Republicans when the GOP was a big tent party. Within the next decade most will be pro-gay rights as the country continues to move in that direction.

Which of the 11 American nations do you live in?
Mark B. Morrow replied to Len_A's topic in Lounge: Off Topic Discussion
By the map, most of Pennsylvania is covered by the Midlands. PA executed three in the last 20 years , two in 1995 (Zettlemoyer and Mosser) and one in 1999 (Heidnik) and Moser and Heidnik waiverd their appeals and requested that the sentence be carried out. -
Really? Where did that stat come from? I'm not aware of any such polling among Native Americans. I'm not a fan of political correctness as I do believe that even offensive speech should be protected, (see KKK rallies and the Westboro Baptist Church) That said, the term Redskin was a perjoritive atleast back to the founding of the football club. The native Americans were pretty much powerless back then. In addition, words and the way society feels about them change over time. It was once polite to refer to people as Negros and not unacceptable to use the slang derivitive in public. Few people would consider those terms inoffensive today. The question is the imprimatur of the government in permitting trademark protection for the name. If Dan Snyder wants to retain the name, he can probably do so for some number of years before it becomes a liability. Removing the trademark protection won't stop him, it will lessen the value of the name as an asset.

I'm right on the border of The Midlands and Greater Appalachia which makes sense to me since Pittsburgh is very much a midwestern city with West Virginia just an hour southwest. -
Then again maybe that video did have something to do with it: Benghazi attack suspect Ahmed Abu Khattala, who was captured by U.S. forces on Sunday, told people the move against the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya was intended as revenge for an American-made online video that was seen as an attack to Islam, according to the New York Times. What he did in the period just before the attack has remained unclear. But Mr. Abu Khattala told other Libyans in private conversations during the night of the attack that he was moved to attack the diplomatic mission to take revenge for an insult to Islam in an American-made online video. An earlier demonstration venting anger over the video outside the American Embassy in Cairo had culminated in a breach of its walls, and it dominated Arab news coverage. Mr. Abu Khattala told both fellow Islamist fighters and others that the attack in Benghazi was retaliation for the same insulting video, according to people who heard him. In an interview days after the attack, he pointedly declined to say whether he believed an offense such as the anti-Islamic video might indeed warrant the destruction of the diplomatic mission or the killing of the ambassador. “From a religious point of view, it is hard to say whether it is good or bad,” he said. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/17/benghazi-suspect-video_n_5505181.html?utm_hp_ref=politics
