And you are very simple; really. Have you ever built an engine or put a more powerful motor in a car? You don't need to answer. The idea of supercharging or turbocharging a V8 is uniquely Ford hotrodders from early on. The reason; Ford motors are usually smaller in CC than GM. Yes, the LS resopnds well (as any internal combusion engine should with the right build and tune), and they can be built to a large CC. The great equalizer for a person that chooses to build a Mod motor is the efficiency of the four valve head. Yes an LS can yield a high CFM from the pushrod head, however the combustion chamber with its central located spark plug means a Mod motor can take more boost on pump or race gas. There are mod motors that have made over 2500 hp, this is a feat that an LS has yet to achieve to my knowledge - look it up.

A person that follows will go LS, and will be missing out on Mod motors that love boost, and can be built with stock blocks and heads to achieve what ever goal they have. I love it when people say LS this LS that and its compact etc. First of all the weight is comparable, secondly, if the car came with the Mod motor, well I guess it fits! It will also fit Fox bodies. Time has proven the SBF the better eqaul to the SBC, and the Mod is highly recognized for reliability, strenght, and responsiveness to mods.

BTW, guess which engine family is the basis for the most powerful OEM V8 in the world? I will say this though, 5.3 are cheap...l love beating them down (and 6.2's and Hemis) with my 5.4 SVT L.

Why don't we stop having elections, and just let the news media pick our leaders? They didn't think that the people were competent when they elected Nixon, Reagan, GHW Bush, or GW Bush, so they went after them relentlessly, and were successful in turning the tide against the Republicans on many occasions. If you only show somebody's dark side, people will believe that he is evil; immoral; stupid....whatever. Nobody is like that. Media sees itself as an all-knowing, all-powerful God with the power to shape the world into something of it's own creation. If you poke a caged animal with a stick for long enough, it will return to it's savage roots. If you let it loose, it is not responsible for it's actions; it's provocateurs are. We can't let them win. Ford is our man, duly elected. He has done a lot of good; much to the dislike of the unscrupulous who want to continue to scam and rob the people. Turn your anger towards the media, not their victim.

I am in favor of little or no government. Government doesn't represent me. I like Rob Ford. Like any friend, I am not going to stop liking him because I find out that he is a party animal. I am not embarrassed by what he does because, as I said, government doesn't represent me. All I want from government is to leave me alone and stop stealing my money. Rob Ford wants the same thing.

The drug situation is a creation of the government. Prohibition of drugs created a windfall for the criminal element, and a windfall for Big Government. It gives them an excuse to intrude in all of our lives. Organized crime wants drug laws to stay as they are. I am suspicious of any government official who says the same thing. Who is backing them? Surely organized crime is in their corner. When Prohibition was lifted on alcohol, organized crime took a hit. Joe Kennedy was a strong supporter of Prohibition because he was getting rich selling illegal booze. Government serves me best when it does nothing. I say dope the lot of them up.

I'm talking about the 80s and 90s. Ford isn't in business to satisfy your need for bragging rights with your buddies. And that type of stuff just doesn't translate to new car sales. Neither does NASCAR or NHRA.

What they do on their own dime is less important to me than what they do on my dime. Ford looks out for the taxpayer. The crooks who want to steal from us are out to get him. He probably doesn't party any more than anyone else in office. Nobody pays an army of spies to stalk them; trying to discredit them on their private behavior instead of what they are doing on their jobs. I would take Ford and his ideas of less government over the socialist menace that has had the Toronto taxpayer in it's talons for decades. They are going out kicking and screaming, but we need to make sure that they go. All of the "usual suspects" that are on the Obama bandwagon are on the "get Ford" bandwagon.

Fair enough. Essentially my point was those sorts of features and feel on a small pickup would be cool. An SUV with a bed is probably an accurate description! The Ranger was an uber-basic truck. Which I don't mind, but perhaps that's among the reasons it wouldn't sell? Either way, I'd love to see a Ranger again. This supposed new 2.3L 350 horsepower Ecoboost 4 cylinder would be a beautiful match for a truck like that. Small, light, efficient, but could pull a horse trailer with that kind of power!

Every car he referred to in the Pontiac lineup can just as easily be brought forth as a Buick or a Chevrolet. There were drawings and plans for a Chevrolet based Solstice called Sting Ray....and the rear drive G6 on ATS architecture could have become a Chevrolet Chevelle or Buick Skylark or Gran Sport....as for GMC, they could have easily folded them into Chevrolet truck division and streamlined their SUV's to the remaining three divisions...but, it is done...GM got the bailout and is now recovering...

ok Ford, DEANOpnik here, i want a 250 hp AWD Fiesta 2.0 eco, a 350hp AWD 2.3 eco Focus, a 400hp AWD 2.7 eco Fusion, I will give my 2 c on the Mustang when its released, but it wont have enough horsepower, it will STILL be too heavy and youll screw up the overhangs again, I want an upmarket 5.0 engined Taurus that can compete with the upmarket Euros, I want diesel in the F-150s, the Tranist full sized needs the diesel with AWD and EVERYTHING should have a no cost factory order avail Manual transmission, the smaller transit needs the 2.0 eco if its hauling 7 passengers...oh, and everything should be half price.....are you listening?....

Oh, I don't know about that. Dean could provide some information about how many fleet-grade XLs Ford sells. It really doesn't impact buyer perception here. If anything, the sight of a beat-up XL with a ladder rack, a vinyl interior, and the logo of a Fortune 500 company on an Oxford white body *adds* to the credibility of 'F150 as work vehicle' that just about every truck owner buys into.

It's like the credibility that beat-up Jeeps in wild offroad wilderness lend to the leather-clad-never-off-pavement vehicles owned by suburbanites.

    Drivers I hate:

#3-- BMW drivers. Richer, more successful, scored more tail, and not afraid to rub it in your face!

#2-- Hybrid drivers. They don't REALLY save the environment. The batteries are hugely-expensive to replace and are highly-toxic. And nearly as many fossile fuels have been burned to produce the electricity for the "plug-in" variants as are burned with a small-displacement turbo-charged car that would also be much lighter. But, like all bleeding hearts, the result doesn't matter, so long as people acknowledge their "good intentions" so that they can FEEL good about themselves!

And the #1 driver I absolutely HATE is...

    ...

#1-- RAM drivers.Their misery springs from the unfortunate reality that mother nature refused to bestow a sizeable phallus upon them. So, they go out and buy the biggest, "manliest"-looking truck they can find, which, of course, is the one that looks vaguely like a Conventional 18-wheeler. Add a pair of noisy, smog-producing smokestacks on the sides of the largest-possible cab to complete the desired aesthetic, raise it another 6 inches, stick a decal of Calvin (from Calvin & Hobbes) urinating on a Ford logo, drive 90mph in the 55mph zone, cut off everyone they speed by, and tempt everyone they pull-out in front of to broadside them, and you have the worst drivers on the road. I suppose their reasoning is if they can't HAVE a big d-ck, they'd might as well BE a big d-ck!
