  1. Parked next to a Silverado EV at a charger on Saturday. Not as bad looking in person as I thought.
  2. Not a fan of the styling of the new Camry. New Prius is shockingly good looking. Imagine if it were a BEV.
  3. Did you see the video Farley posted of the Lightning taking on the course the CT had trouble with?
  4. And a traditional SUV. And a van. And could let Rivian focus on commercial business.
  5. My wife’s ‘23 Maverick finally arrived! Took thirteen months. We’re keeping her Edge (I think - we’ll keep the Edge or the 2010 Flex, TBD - Edge needs some work) for our son, who just started drivers ed, so our fleet is now red (Lightning), white (Edge), and Blue (Maverick) representing Fords North American production, Dearborn (Lightning), Ontario (Edge _and Flex]), and Hermosillo (Maverick). It’s my ninth Ford, and fifth from my salesman. It’s a very dark blue, and has a lot of fun features. We did not get the hybrid because we wanted the 4K towing package.
  6. Sure it would, for some. My Lightning has about 50 miles more range than my Mach-E did. Our summer home round trip falls just between. On the MME I couldn’t make it without charging (and at the time there was a single 50kW [DCFS, but slow] on route). The Lightning easily makes it (if I don’t do a lot of side trips). That’s priceless. People will pay $14k to get carbon fiber wheels on a Dark Horse for cripes sake. It’s not like the Rivian is a $20k Civic, it’s a $90-100k truck/SUV.
  7. I put over 17k miles on my Lightning in its first year, have a 60 mile round trip commute, travel 300 miles rt every other weekend in the summer. Did four 500 mile rt trips so far. My truck charges at my garage, and I use EA when I need to fast charge.
  8. I practically never charged my Mach-E at home, and have never charged my Lightning at home in over a year of ownership.
  9. I have to assume that, even if the Escape had continued, a hybrid version of the BS is inevitable. It’s certainly easier to create a hybrid BS than an SUV Maverick. I don’t know how you’d differentiate the BS from a Maverick SUV, and don’t think the Mav would necessarily be more “upscale”.
  10. The garage I charge at has three Mach-E that charge there now regularly (would be four if I hadn’t gotten my Lightning). The only thing I see more of (at the garage) is Teslas. I’m seeing more Mach-E at Electrify America chargers too, but it’s still not common. (See more KIA there than anything as our local Enterprise has them and charges there.). When I was in Anaheim last month every other commercial seemed to be for a Mach-E lease deal.
  11. Move Maverick and Bronco Sport to Louisville and BEV(s) to Hermosillo?
  12. Is it just me or does the new BMW concept look like an 8-bit Lincoln Zephyr? https://www.autoblog.com/2023/09/02/bmw-vision-neue-klasse-revealed-munich-motor-show/
  13. I bet they’re being too literal - as someone who went from and Edge to a Mach-E, I could see them arguing it is the replacement, even if not an exact one.
  14. I wonder how likely it is new vinyl will match old vinyl, and how long 3M will produce matching vinyl.
  15. The price is pretty reasonable too - I’ve seen people spend that much on just a wrap without all the other unique features.
  16. Is the wrap intended to be permanent? I wonder if panels are wrapped prior to installation. Curious how collision repair will be handled.
  17. Yesterday was my one year anniversary with my Lightning. Just over 17k miles. I’ve taken it to Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Total charging cost: $1,268. A similar gas F150 would have used nearly $4k in gas. Average charge time (public/fast charging) was 27.54 minutes.
  18. I think this LC and previous LC target different demographics. This one to me is a 4Runner by another name.
  19. They’re a good first car too if they’re responsible enough to keep charged.
  20. I read someone say it looks like it’s made of legos, and it kind of does.
  21. Have you heard of the Ford Bronco? (I do wish they had a fixed top Bronco). Does this replace 4Runner?
  22. Awful. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. I just saw a corvette someone had done this too - it was a modernish vette with an 53 front clip and rear, and it was ridiculous. Looked like China tried making a corvette.
